  1. Blue Lagoon won't get a much needed makeover until Big Brother gets axed. You can't build a roller-coaster there while Big Brother is airing - it will make too much noise. I'm aware Blue Lagoon operated while Big Brother was on as I did have my first job at Blue Lagoon's Fat Fish (I got to take food to a secret kitchen in the house but it was after the season finished). Blue Lagoon was a lot quieter that a coaster would be.

I do agree about what's been said. You can build a whole new world down there with a few awesome rollercoasters, even darks rides and much more. There is tons of land, it can be bigger than Blue Lagoon, and they should add a train station to make it easier to access. Best if they put the stream train back as it's faster and more efficient (and a real train!).

  2. Here is a picture of the water dummies.

You should post that on the Dreamworld facebook page. Next year Gold Rush Country turns 30 so it would be a great time to referb the Mine Ride. There is a lot of people wanting a new Mine Ride. Last year when Dreamworld posted about the new Tailspin a lot of comments said "We want the Mine Ride". If they replace it the park will be less run down and have a better variety of rides. Could the Mine Ride become the Big 10th Thrill Ride?.....

...But Dreamworld do use the Mine Ride for storage so they may be just stored there.

  3. We also had issues with the Cyclone. Did the lengthy walk all the way around the outside of the turbine tower (ugh) only to find out that it was closed, as some kid had puked on it and it had to be cleaned. Then he said apon re-opening it needed a minimum 10 people to operate. So we decided to go back later!

I always use the emergency steps on the Cyclone, much quicker, I also go back down that way.

  4. Cyclone puts me to sleep, I think it's next to go. I much prefer Arkham Asylum which is currently the oldest coaster on the coast. Also the harness seems like it can easily get undone. It takes your picture but "Cyclone Ride Photos are Unavailable". If it was to close waterslides will replace it, Dreamworld would need to build a better coaster elsewhere in the park - they most likely will stick it in a location that it doesn't fit into destroying the layout of the whole area like what happened with Motorcoaster.

  5. It seems Dreamworld are making some great improvements with off peak ride hours. They currently are -

Big Red Boat - 10am - 4pm (also on weekends)

Big Red Car - 10am - 4pm (also on weekends)

    Cyclone - 10am - 5pm

    Giant Drop - 10am - 5pm

    Log Ride 10am - 5pm

    Motocoaster - 11.30am - 5pm (also on weekends)

    Shockwave - 10am - 5pm

    Tea Cups - 10am - 4pm (also on weekends)

Thunder River Rapids - 12pm - 4pm (also on weekends)

    Vintage Cars - 12pm - 4pm (also on weekends)

    Wipeout - 10am - 5pm

Thunder River Rapids is one of the best rides in the park and should not be only open for 4 hours. The only reason should be if they were fixing the Mine Ride and want to keep the Rapid Ride open.

  6. With the Mine Ride can't they just create a new Mine Ride with the same track layout, rebuild the track, new ride system, new theming and fix the mountain?

In March the chairlift has been abandoned for 10 years! You think it would have been removed / replaced by now...

Next year is Blue Lagoon and Mine Ride have been abandoned for 10 years - unless they do something about it....

  7. This year Dreamworld really should do something about the abandoned attractions. It is coming up to 10 years since Blue Lagoon nand the Chair lift closed and they continue to rot in the park. The Mine Ride closed 9 years ago this year and looking at a recent post there is a huge demand to bring it back, just look at the Tailspin page on Dreamworld s website on the Facebook comments.
