  1. Just asking a question here, about Tower of Terror II. Do you think the tunnel ruined the ride?. Like, when i used to ride TOT, the whole thrill was shooting out of the station and blaring past half of DW before going up the tower. The tunnel was definitely put in for noise concerns since it goes past the motocoaster l but I can't help but think that huge ugly white long tube kind of ruined the magic of the ride a great deal. Going backwards is great, but you can't see anything fly past you

  2. 14 hours ago, Tim Dasco said:

I would say the follow IMO are the list for great coast in Australia

    • Abyss
    • Superman
    • Scooby
    • Jet rescue
    • Storm
    • Tunnel of Terror (Just because it was a world record ride for height and Speed)

I'm pretty sure Tower of Terror doesn't live up to its record breaking speed and height anymore. Probably more 120-130 instead of the advertised 160kph

  3. To be honest, the only great and truly thrilling coaster we have in Australia is Superman Escape and to a degree Arkham Asylum. Abyss looks cool to even though I haven't been on it. There is definitely room for improvement. And I don't know how to explain this, but even though we have few rides compared to the rest of the globe, there is just something about the atmosphere of the rides here in Australia that make them special, even though we have a thinner budget. But i feel that if we were given the tools and the money nessecary to build something big, Movie World has the potential to pull off something amazing

  4. Well if what they're saying is true, that this ride will be one of the worlds best theme park drawcards, its probably going to be something we probably have never seen before or something that is really unique. Im expecting a dark ride or simulator. Or maybe even a hybrid of the two like spider-man or harry potter.

To be honest i hope its one of those two. Australia is sorely missing a simulator like ride ever since the took out batman adventure and another thing that we desperately need is a top class story driven dark ride. We have Justice League, which is good but.... still

  5. You see most rides at, I'll say six flags are extremely thrilling that lack detailed theming while Disney is the opposites. Even though thrill rides are not Disney's priority, it would be nice if they turned up the intensity every now and then focused on rides aimed for people of an older age because Disney rides have so much potential and sometimes their family friendly nature can hold it back

Disney himself once said that he makes movies for all ages, not just for kids, so he doesn't hold back

  6. There is a new drop tower at Luna Park that had been causing issues with neighbours about noise problems from screaming which has caused several petitions to have the ride torn down. Now I've been on the ride and it's really fun. It's actually in some ways scarier than The Giant Drop even though it's a fraction of its height, the drop just feels sharper and more sudden. But anyway it is apparently Luna Park Sydney's first ride in over a decade but it was apparently built without permission or agreement by its surrounding community. However I feel that there is a very simple solution to this problem, Scream Sheilds. The Maliboomer at DCA had the same thing to block scream noise by nearby residents.

So anyway what do the rest of you think about this situation

  7. Space Mountain: Supernova

    1000-1600m

    75 km/h

    Height: 30-40 m

    Ride time 3 minutes

    Inversions: 4

    Zero G Roll
    Dive loop
    Corkscrew
    (Overbanked Turn)
    Inline Twist

"Ride head over heels on a light speed adventure through an exploding star"

Okay, so try to follow this......

So the ride lasts about 3 minutes. The first min is just all that lift hill pre build up (you probably know what I mean)

The first half of the ride is basically space mountain with curves and small drops, but at higher speed, but about halfway through, the train flies into a supernova section with strobe, colour and sound effects. Which the train suddenly goes down a 10-15 m drop and back up about 3/4 into a zero g roll immediately followed by a dive loop to ground level which is then followed by a left corkscrew into a sharp curve in the same direction into an airtime hill which goes over the pit of the 10m drop causing a headchopper effect in the first place.... Brutal

After an overbanked turn the ride than makes a right hand curve around the edge of about a quarter of the mountain, which is then suddenly followed by a fast but smooth turn to the left into a final left inline twist in the exit tunnel outside of the perimeter of the mountain and then finally a brake run where the picture is taken

So what do you think....? I'm not sure if even building a ride like that is even possible but I'm pretty sure it can be done with a little imagination, (and money) it hasn't stopped Disney before

    its just an idea
  8. I really think the only way DW could get the ride reopened is close the entire Gold Rush area to be closed for a few months so the rapids aren't operating. Rip out the old track. And then contact a newer company like Mack or Intamin to replace the track with the same layout. See if the old cars work and if they don't, purchase new vehicles. And see if it works. If that still doesn't work, dreamworlds are going to have no choice but demolish the entire mountain and find a suitable replacement because you can't just leave something like that to rot for an entire decade!
