  1. I think the back of the park is in need for more urgent care than the Roxy Theatre in my opinion.

With Scooby Doo out of action, it's just really empty. It's a whole lot of nothing until you get to Wild West Falls. They should have really themed Doomsday to the wild west in the first place. There just needs to be more reason to spend time at that side of the park.

The Batman Legacy showcase also feels so out of place, it's really cool, but it should be moved closer to the front of the park.

  2. Why is it always Disney when people discuss the expansion of the theme park sector in this country, It's exhausting to constantly see new articles about some empty new land that could house a Disney Park. Why is it never just a theme park in general. A well built theme park with good attractions will attract people across the country or even abroad anyhow, I don't see why these "proposed entertainment lands" have to only house a Disney park.

No attraction will ever be added closer to Kopps Rd for two reasons - proximity to residences, and that whole area is a major flood point.

Back on the Flash topic, interesting theme for something that's not too fast in reality. Is there a reason they won't use the Titans? Licensing? Could theme it to Raven, Nightwing or Beast Boy.

I mean, Movie World consistently themes their new attractions to the latest WB blockbuster, and The Flash just came out a few weeks ago before this announcement. So I'd say that's the thinking behind it.

Technically though, right now, there's room.

I'd much rather hyperion than a refreshed flat ride that they spent $20m on.

and yes - we all know why.

Comparing a relocation from the park next door to a world class hypercoaster is insane.

Would a ride like Hyperion even work at Movie World, there is a ride on the other side of the park that is offering a similar ride experience. Wouldn't you prefer a more diverse coaster line-up?

I'd like to see Movie World get another world-class thrill ride as much as the next guy, but it's not that simple. Movie World is landlocked, with a working movie studio behind it, residential very close to the side, and then swamp land and top golf on the other side.

This is a park that will have to be very clever with future large scale investments, being forced to use the limited amount of land left very wisely. Future attractions may need to come with some major sacrifices.

I also just want to express how good I think this relocation is, and how much it will do for that area of the park. It really opens it up, and makes it more attractive of a place to be in. Outside of Arkham and Superman, it always just felt dead and depressing, it wasn't really that nice compared to other areas of the park.

So Village went all out on Leviathan said they will be doing the same for wizard of oz and just deliveree a perfectly nice new marvin ride.
But we have low expectations that they will cheap out for surfrider?

    Yes.

The ride has been down at Wet and Wild for a long time, I'm not really sure what's stopped them from moving the ride during that downtime, if it was so easy to just dismantle the ride.

What could they even do to dress this ride up? It's not a lot of space, it's located on a huge concrete slab, and they probably want the ride to be operating as soon as possible.

  6. Maybe Hanna-Barbera just isn't that appealing to kids anymore, sure they are recognisable entities to us. But how many kids these days are actually sitting down and watching the Flintstones, Yogi Bear and The Jetsons? I was born in 2003, and it was already out of fashion when I was growing up.

Besides some 4D attractions of released movies, I doubt you will see Movie World really go out of their way to license characters that I'm not convinced kids even like that much these days.

Thats a bigger stretch. How would you even theme that?

You theme it to the scene where Henry is driving around with the helicopter chasing him.

You have the trains be like cars, and then do the ol Superman Escape trick and have a helicopter on the back. The park could charge extra if you wanted to be in the helicopter seat.

  8. I'm still hanging on to that Aussie World B&M Giga!

A rewards program is cool for the Aussie World frequents, I guess.

Did the park really need to have some sort of build up for it? They probably could have just dropped it and it would have had the same reaction. But to play devils advocate in my own post, how meta of me, the build up under the hope of something big is really why any of us are talking about it here.

Also, to the over-speculating point. Aren't the point of these forums is to discuss? Speculation seems to be a significant part of theme park discussion. The park knew what they were doing by trying to generate some hype, it's not people's fault for hoping for something more special.

  9. I just miss the Tower of Terror's (I & II) roar across the park, just seeing it fly up as you past the park on the M1. The ride had a dominating presence over the park, and Dreamworld feels emptier without it. The same goes with Wipeout, the noise it made is so ingrained in my mind, and it always felt like there was just as big of a crowd watching the ride as there was queueing for the ride.

  10. I'd imagine it'd be quite devastating for VRTP to have to cut ties with Warner Brother.

Imagine having to retheme majority of your rides and areas, they'd have to make so much costumes out of nowhere, all in such a relatively short period of time. Removing the big Joker face on top of DC Rivals, that big lantern logo on Green Lantern, having to order all these new trains (especially for Superman Escape).

In my opinion, it will never happen.

If it was to happen, it would be a very long process, and will be a very expensive one.

And I highly doubt VRTP would theme the entire park around Marvel, or another brand or studio. Since last time they did, it cost them a lot of money.

I think we can all agree now that it was way too windy for the ride to be dispatched.. especially empty.

I don't think I've ever seen Movie World use water dummies for their morning tests on any ride. Thinking about it, I don't think I've seen any theme park on the Gold Coast use water dummies for their morning cycles.

Constantly filling up trains with water dummies every morning just seems like a massive waste of time. You are speaking like you knew this was gonna happen, when this has never happened in the 5 years the ride has operated at the park.

You're not an expert, nobody is expecting you to be an expert, stop pretending to be an expert.

I think Dreamworld would make for a great Legoland conversion. They did it pretty well with Cypress Gardens in Florida.

The problem would be that Legoland parks are heavily marketed to younger families, so Dreamworld's thrill rides might generate a problem in terms of imaging, but to solve this they could call this location 'Legoworld' to differentiate it from their other properties. It ties back to the parks history and plays into the fact that there are technically two parks with WWW next door.

It'd be the fresh start that the park needs.

I'd cry if I saw this happened, I really wouldn't want to see the park be converted to Legoland.

I think there is a lot of attachment to the name and identity of Dreamworld, even if it was damaged by the accident in 2016.

i don't know about year by year, but I'd get another roller-coaster (thrill ride) in the next 5-10 years. I do not think Steel Taipan is enough for the lack of roller-coasters the park has now.

Obviously, the family side needs something. I don't know what, where and when.

They're talking about the Wonka candy
Wonka Nerds Rainbow Crunchy Candy, 6 Oz. - Walmart.com

I know, but the whole reason the brand name was used is because a successful children's book has been adapted into two successful films. So wouldn't it make sense for a company to continue to take advantage of the Wonka name, especially when there is a new film right around the corner?

I know Nestle discontinued the brand overseas in 2018, but I wouldn't be surprise if it made a comeback if the new movie is successful.
