In the email Dreamworld sent they outlined that passholders should keep an eye out for a 'special' email, which i assume will be for a preview. It may just be early entry on the day.

Wouldn't it be a bit unusual to announce an opening day and then push forward with a soft opening?
-
Absolutely love the logo, I hope they have some merchandise.

It doesn't look like they are offering the North Pole Pass this year.

Dreamworld's Maintenance lately is very poor.
The Claw now delayed until December 19, Tail Spin until November 28th, both were 'scheduled' to open this weekend. They always wait until the last minute to extend the maintenance.

I think this change could actually have a positive effect. I think knowing everyone attending the parks is vaccinated means a whole lot of people will feel safer.

Interested to know what ride that sign belonged to.
"The tide has changed and we're making new waves"
Wipeout I believe

I think we'll find with Dreamworld every ride should be open by Summer time. I always like to think of what marketing might sit behind the parks at Christmas.
Dreamworld
Steel Taipan, New Train, 'Rides & Slides', New January 'event'
VRTP
New Water slides at WNW, Probably a cute animal at Paradise Country, Movieworld should have extended hours (DC Rivals Vs Heroes event), perhaps even a new WB Showcase- 1

Yes, I noticed the billboard at the front of the park was updated too.
I have a theory that they might go for a November opening and then advertise the Christmas event in December. A beat of excitement and something new every month.
I don't believe they are having a Christmas event.

It seems Village has put up the price of a One Pass to $189 (they seemed to be $169 before today). I think they last put the price up in July, so it's a rise of $30 in 6 months.

I loved the mansion, it was a great use of space, a 'custom' attraction for an evening event, fun for the kids and a good experience. I thought it was the best part of Happy Halloween. I hope they use the space more in the future because the 'bones' of the building are great, It's a surprisingly large space too.

I think the major problem here is that the Entry process was so poor. I think the car parking being full is a reality of an event like this and Dreamworld could have countered this in several different ways. The fact they knew they had 8500 people and didn't really do anything to try and improve the entry process is poor.
In the interests of proactivity they could have done some of the following
* Communicated ahead of the event to people attending that it will be busy and to seek other transport options
* Allow people to come into the park earlier
* Organised for adequete signage about where other parking can be found
* Had a redemption station inside the gates so that they could speed up entry
* Had entertainment outside of the park for the wait

It's quite disappointing to hear the negative feedback about the event, knowing the car park capacity and selling 8500 tickets is an extraordinary decision, not a good first impression for those who purchased a new annual pass. I hope they learn for the next set of events. For starters, they should let people in at 3:00pm and put a wristband on people like last year, and have a Trick or Treat redemption card station in the park.

Are you able to post up any photos of the crowds? The 3rd year in they should be able to execute an event like this without trouble.

The Claw is now down to October 31st, as are Tailspin and Shockwave, odd they all come out of maintenance on October 31.

(Please note this is a question for discussion but I think it’s worth addressing)
As we all know VRTPs we’re sold to a capital investment firm earlier in the year. The first big change since this occurred was the Hooray for Hollywood, which was a great event and a good sign for the future. Since then though VRTPs have been slowing in momentum.
- Leviathan has paused completely
- Trident is nowhere to be seen
- Trading hours have been cut across the parks
admittedly the new Wet N Wild Slides have progressed and Paradise Country has had some new additions but vaccine targets are making it clear that by the end of the year australia will be in a pretty good place, it seems Dreamworld is preparing for this meanwhile VRTP seems to be in preservation mode.
I of course understand Covid has had a dramatic impact on theme park operation but thought it was worth discussing.

I think the next announcement will be the ABC World Renovation, it needs a couple more rides and if they can get the Bluey licensing this will refresh this area of the park considerably. This was in the pipeline pre covid and I think was budgeted at about $1,000,000, so within the scope of what they can afford.
Luna Park Sydney invested about $17,000,000 and that got '9' rides, which is a really productive use of money, this is all less than the cost of the Taipan.

I am a local on the Gold Coast who is used to the annual passes of our local passes. I was looking into attending Aussie World but noticed they only have day passes and not annual passes, this does make a day out quite expensive as you can’t bring your own food in either.
I don’t think there are many theme parks in Australia that don’t offer annual passes and I know Aussie World used to do this. I am just interested in the thoughts behind not having an annual pass, surely increased visitation means better upsell profit, more of a buzzing vibe in the theme park and better PR, I just find it odd they are sticking to day passes.
has anybody heard anything about Aussie World changing this policy in the future?

It's a great event, pretty conservative in case of Covid lockdowns, reusing the Winterville Village and great variety. This is a low risk home run in my mind.

I think it might be a minor miracle if Leviathan makes a Christmas launch, same with Trident.

It looks like they might be building a farmyard nursery at the back near Corroboree.

Is anyone going next Wednesday for the birthday 'day'? What is an appropriate time to line up for these things?
