  1. The plunge looks awesome, as for new ride perhaps a top spin style of ride? As long as it isn't one of those " Ali Baba " rides, they cant really go wrong IMO.

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/282937216/big_roller_coaster.html Only slightly over their budget. :P "tremendous size and cutting edge technology" "enhanced metal support" "lightning speed" "excellent safety mechanisms" Or perhaps they'd like to order a roller coaster 'by the ton'. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/334948814/Steel_Structure_Roller_coaster.html
  2. I did the Disney & Knotts at Halloween time (and the Knotts special after-hours event, which was amazing). I think in 5 days you could easily fit in SFMM, Knotts, Disney & possibly Universal. I didn't do Universal on my last trip though. We spent 2 days between the two Disney Parks (California Adventure & the main Disneyland). If I could, I'd probably spend 3 days there, but that's just because I can never get enough of Disney. We did get all the major stuff done in the 2 days though (with both days having 8 to 12 opening hours). So, yeah, I think you shouldn't have any problems in getting all the stuff you want to get done in the 5 days.

  3. The main point of the Gold VIP was the free entries to these two events (disregarding the SMALL perks they give you in comparison to the normal VIP). So, we were meant to be saving '$39.99', but now that the VIP Pass Holders save '$29.99', it means Gold Holders really only saved $10.

  4. Using my background in Physics

No offence, but I thought you failed physics??

i can't see anything of a heat issue causing this

What about some form of thermal resistor in the circuit you don't know about, or even just the temperature affecting the resistance without a thermal resistor and limiting the power it receives? And the two very legitimate reasons above this post?? I could easily see heat being able to cause the ride to break down. It causes The Claw to break down a lot during Summer.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's: Phase One: 'Shrektacular Festive Show' Phase Two: Official opening of 'DreamWorks land' (whatever it ends up being called) Phase Three: Opening of 'Po's Garden'. From what I gathered out of the press release, it's kind of like Mickey's house at Disneyland in Toon Town. Hopefully they pull it off at the same level. I think this will probably occupy a large amount of the empty space in Kids World at the moment.

  6. ^ I do agree with Gazza on this one. The parks' visitation is about 40 - 46% (saw it on an ASX early this year/late last) from 'locals' (Which I think is Queensland & Northern NSW Post Codes). Then a large amount would be interstate. A smaller amount from New Zealand. Asia isn't too far behind for tourists to the Gold Coast and the TINIEST percent would be from other places like Europe and Americas.

  7. Everyone on this forum keeps saying 'General public, ohhh, general public', but seriously, I think you all have it around the wrong way. WE'RE probably the ones who don't care about the steepest drop as much, because we know, it's only 1 or 2 degrees. The general public though, what would sound better? Steepest drop in the Southern Hemisphere or Steepest drop in the WORLD? Giant Drop gains world wide attention for world's tallest and fastest free fall ride. I'm sure Movie World would also want this attention. But in saying that, I understand why they couldn't change it once Takashiba was announced.

  8. Although Movie World advertise the ride closures as 9pm, they've been a bit lenient lately. For example, last night, Superman had 'technical difficulties' but after reopening they let the massive line outside the building in before closing it behind them. The line ended up at about an hour+ and it was 8:20ish already. They kept the ride running until everyone was through. Same happens with Batwing (which doesn't seem TOO popular later in the evening anyway) and Lethal Weapon.

  9. How did you prove me wrong?? My argument still stands. If Superman had a, let's say, 1 hour line, why wouldn't people just get the locker and come back in 80 minutes to renew it, 'mate'?

    And I proved you wrong.

That's all you seem to do on this forum - try to prove people wrong. You're all too joyous.
