Would make sense as to why they're aiming for the summer school holidays to be their "best summer ever".
- 40th birthday celebrations
- opening of Steel Taipan
- opening of the "new look" Dreamworld Express
- free world-class show (meh)
- WhiteWater World (already) fully operational
I see Dreamworld benefiting greatly with increased guest numbers should the opening of the border come about - in the unlikely event either the NSW/QLD or International borders do eventually open. However, if international borders indeed fail to open, travel bubbles could be set up with the right countries.
Do Dreamworld do adverts interstate? I remember when living in Strathfield, Sydney, I hardly saw any ads for any of the parks up here...

All I know is Scenic World would not be a theme park.

It's hard enough walking up the damn stairs holding the raft that none of your mates wanna help out with at WnW, but given Kaboom is at the tallest point of the structure, have wind blowing and it's all over.

"Looks like our website has 'pawsed' "
Who let the tigers loose?
-
I'd be disappointed if a lift for the Kaboom rafts weren't installed. All those stairs to climb while holding that thing...
-
They've got some plants going everywhere on this ride. In the queue and before the second rock on exit of the MCBR (they're small plants). I'd assume they're installing more once all the heavy vehicles are gone.
The station lights were switched on all day today, and the station itself appears to have a bit of art on the walls. Splashes of orange and black paint here and there.
-
That wall is now fully painted.
The scales look pretty neat too.
-
To clarify, Taipan was indeed meant to run its first cycle today, but ended up not going ahead. It is expected to run its first ever cycle next week on an undisclosed day.
The only testing today was the train reversing from the station slowly, then running in at normal operating speed.
Also, the zero car shell is absent from the non-spinner train.

Having visited Movie World when QLD students had their first week back at the beginning of 2019 (visiting from Sydney), the park was relatively quiet.
Having also visited Dreamworld when QLD students had their first week back at the beginning of 2020 (just moved to the Gold Coast), the park was dead.
Next year I'm assuming (if border restrictions permit) that the parks will again be quiet. Given that majority of visitors have already left or have returned to school.

Maybe the amount of turtles living in there?

Does the island in the middle of the river serve a purpose nowadays?

Unless you want to turn TOTII's plot of land into a lift hill...

That would've been cool to see. Right now I can only imagine what that would've been like...

News tonight stated ST beings testing on Friday.
Oh wow! I thought only close-contacts were meant to know this but oh well, it's the news. I guess I can talk about it freely now.

Is it just me or do those trains seem uncomfortably low? 🤔😂
That's the reality with single rail coasters tho...

Does the MCBR even have the friction brake attachment on it, or is it just the LSMs?
And given the spinner seat will be both elevated and reclined, a pull through should be necessary especially given the fact that guests tend to push their limits by keeping their hands up. Perhaps they won't do one as previously stated, but if Dreamworld want to avoid more incidents, they should.
Maybe in the safety video they'll just tell spinner riders to keep a firm hold of the handlebars.

DCR didn't as far as I'm aware and last time it was brought up, no one else saw one being completed for it.
As far as I know, DCR didn't need any pull through given the large clearances.
Steel Taipan may possibly need one due to the rocky theming.
Highly unlikely, but imagine this on there:
Photos from EP Fans I guess...

Is there any reason why the old sign was removed from rr roller coaster?.
Dreamworld stole it 🐍

After speaking with an employee today, they said Movieworld are looking to operate normal hours for the next three weeks on weekends only... Not sure of the credibility of the source but we'll see how that plays out.

I believe there was also a lot of track work that went on too. Including a complete refurb of the brakerun
That's correct. Thanks to the upgraded final brake run, trains will gradually slow to a stop with trims instead of friction brakes...

Oh to be half-naked at a sporting event going down a see-through water slide with drunk people getting on the beers...
Wonder how well that'll work out.

Makes sense for it to be built somewhere near Rocky Hollow Station then, given the gap.
