All I was saying is I couldn’t be convinced to buy a ticket to the park if it would only be to ride a newly added swinger-style ride.
I only experienced Sky Voyager after Steel Taipan was added to the park. Sky Voyager, with it being a flying theatre, isn’t even “bog standard” by Australian theme park standards. If I wasn’t already very familiar with Soarin’ in all its iterations, I probably would’ve bought a ticket to the park just to check it out.

Oh absolutely. Not much point attempting to revitalise your theme park by adding something unusual that wouldn’t appeal to the majority of visitors. Mainly the families.
I think losing a lot of the family-centric Dreamworks rides and Rocky Hollow makes me wonder what there is to even do at the park anymore. They’ve lost so many of their fundamental “traditional” theme park rides.
As an aside, it’s such a creepy feeling walking around a theme park with not much going on. I’ve seen kinetics mentioned a bunch in this thread and I think it should be something Dreamworld factors in to their updated plans. l don’t think the park is in dire need of overall capacity updates, it just needs something else for people to do/look at haha.

The shoehorned horror theming didn’t much fit the land every day of the year either. It was inventive, sure, but unlike spooky themed attractions in places such as Alton Towers or Thorpe Park, Buzzsaw was very much a sore thumb.
Not to mention having an attraction themed after ghosts in such a close proximity to River Rapids..

It’s more that trying to update a place like Dreamworld relying on bog standard flat rides, in the hopes that they’ll be enough to draw crowds, isn’t really the best direction for the park to be going.
I’ve since moved back to Australia after a year in the US and I don’t think I could be convinced to invest in a season ticket unless they did something truly interesting. The Jungle Rush Coaster, for instance, is interesting. A Swinger ride is frankly not.

I personally would be all for a Sledgehammer clone if only to actually have a snowball’s chance of riding one.
Dreamworld needs something weird.

Storm Coaster has always reminded me of an inferior Atlantis over at Sea World Orlando. More so now than ever, as the ride over in Orlando is essentially unrecognisable compared to its original iterations.
It’s suffered a similar fate to Wild West Falls, in which a lot of its effects have either fallen into disrepair or were turned off for one reason or another. A damn shame, as the original version of Atlantis was gorgeous themed water coaster.
I’ll also never forgive Seaworld here in Australia for gutting The Bermuda Triangle ride and replacing it with Storm Coaster. I only got to ride it twice as a child, as it closed when I was 9, but I have very fond memories of it. Hope to get to Germany one day to ride the Bermuda clone.

Does anyone happen to have old photos of Wet N Wild? I have a distinct memory of one of the children’s areas having a mountain you could crawl through but I could be mistaken. It was around the era that there was the big kangaroo out the front.

Giant Drop wins simply because it was the gateway for not just drop towers but big thrill attractions for me. Was terrified of it for years until one day I went with a group of friends and didn’t want to be left out.
The other rides have their pros and cons, but Giant Drop has a place in my heart I can’t ignore.
