  1. Just wondering, how did HBL close down and why? PS:yes, i do realise this question is out of date.....
Little Wonders Land (Formerly HBL) closed down because 79% of the park's guests had complained that the park is too big. It looks like management focused on the fat lazy bums. Due to these lazy people, the best roller coaster in the park (Beastie) has been forced to be SBNO, a great loss to the park. ~Flea
  2. For the new promotion 'Dare To Be A DareDevil', 'scratchies' are handed out when getting your ticket/stamp to enter the park. I received five, and scratched them. Here's what I ended up getting.. - $10 off adult entry - $5 off child entry - 50% off adult Wonderpass - Free adult Wonderpass - Free adult Wonderpass I gave the other Free wonderpass coupon to Andrew, as I really had no need for 2. So now, my brother James will be getting a Wonderpass, just for the sake of getting one. So there, $135 will be staying in our pockets :) For those international visitors here, a Wonderpass is an annual pass to Wonderland. Thanks, ~A very happy Flea :)

  3. No, it is true. Apparently, the theming on the trains were adding weight to the train, therefore causing malfunctions (according to other forums). That black box is the attachment used for the theming (once again, according to other forums) which could mean the theming will live again, once this 'weight distrubition' is sorted out. ~Flea

  4. Short videos of Demon and Space Probe now available! I have had to cut down the quality a bit in order for everyone to view them with ease. Comments are appreciated, enjoy! Space Probe Off Ride.. http://ourworld.cs.com/Flea110/SPOR.WMV Demon Coming Through Station.. http://ourworld.cs.com/Flea110/DOR.WMV Demon's First Drop.. http://ourworld.cs.com/Flea110/DFD.WMV Today's visit to Wonderland included many, many annoying friends. 5 of them were girls, and the not-so-annoying Andrew (Andy_q69). Andrew and I had a lot of touble finding the girls, as they decided to wander off in the morning. All photos and videos are taken with my Canon PowerShot A200. No sound is available (unless someone wants to donate a digital camera with the sound option on movies? :)). I am currently in the process of editing a 3 minute video of Wonderland. The video was recorded earlier this year, using my panasonic digital camcorder (Yeah, the real thing! :P). Accompaning music and great footage will make this a sure download, expect the video in coming weeks! Thanks, ~Flea

  5. I went today because I was craving to get construction shots for you all. However, it proved to be impossible to get any constrcution shots of the beach. The only possible way to get shots was to take my camera on Space Probe or Bush Beast.. a risk I was not willing to take. I'm very sorry about no construction shots, I promise I will have them next time. Now, onto the day's happenings.. I arrived at the park at 10 past 11, a bit late than usual due to a major trafic jam caused by construction on the horlsey drive. The park was packed, major rides were generating up to 20 minute waits (Space Probe, in particular). The day was known as "Eeels members day", all team mates of the Parramatta Eeels spent the day at Wonderland, along with many, many fans. As soon as I entered the park, I ran to Space Probe. Car no. 3 was my allocated car, so I quickly boarded. Whilst going up the tower, I noticed a very loud buzzing sound coming from the car, along with very voilent jolts. It got me worried, and I was soon to find out that this odd buzz and jolt was occuring on all cars. Whilst taking shots of Snowy River Rampage (I have a decent amount to show), I noticed that Space Probe was going up. So I took a break from taking pictures to look at Space Probe operating. Something wasn't right. All 3 cars refused to drop, and I immediately noticed it was a break down.. so I ran all the way from Snowy River Rampage to Space Probe, but by the time I got there, the mechanics had already pulled the cars down. However, I did get to chat to a few of the riders that experienced the breakdown, they said that they've never been so scared in their life. (the break down may have been related to that buzz and jolt I was talking about.. but who knows?) That being said, a ride op asked me if I could be (along with 3 other people) to be a test dummy for a few cycles. The odd buzz and jolt were now gone, and the ride ran perfectly. The Bush Beast's yellow train was no where in sight today. The transfer track was empty, could this mean new rolling stock for TBB's yellow train? Now, onto the photos.. I must warn that these photos are definately not of my greatest photography, as the weather (and camera) didn't quite co-operate with my today. None the less.. mini-100-0099_IMG.JPGThe Bush Beast exiting the station (see those 2 kids in the front? They gave my the weirdest look..) mini-100-0100_IMG.JPGWhen queuing up for Snowy River Rampage, this sign provides just what you needed to know on a cold winter's day. mini-101-0104_IMG.JPGCaught red handed! "Please sit down" :).. mini-101-0105_IMG.JPGThese people actually got soaked, they would've been even more soaked if it wasn't for that stupid retarded jet that always goes off 5 seconds after the boat actually passes. mini-101-0111_IMG.JPGIf this was summer, you'd see many people trying to get mist on their face. mini-101-0116_IMG.JPGJust one of the many failed attempts to get a shot of Demon and Space Probe going at the same time. (Sorry Jaggs! :() mini-left-left-left-101-0110_IMG.JPGDemon coming down the drop.. (Can you believe that this drop actually used to scare the bejeebeses out of Andrew?) mini-101-0118_IMG.JPGSpell binding sorcery's entrance mini-left-left-left-101-0108_IMG.JPGBest. Ride. Ever. I didn't really know what to take pictures of today since I couldn't see the construction of the beach, so this is why you see many randomised photos of Wonderland. I hope you enjoyed them though! Thanks, ~Flea

  6. Awesome! I've been dying to go on a Scad tower, but currently, I don't think they exist in Australia just yet. As for my 'other thrills'.. I went on the one at the Gold Coast, but it's been fitted with new cables. Apparently, when the ride was fitted with bungee cords, they snapped, so they replaced them with the cables. But that's just a rumour. I went on 'Sling Shot' twice, the launch and airtime is amazing. I also went on Fly Coaster, which is convenietly located right next to Sling Shot. I can easily say that this is money well spent, and the best ride I have ever been on. You can find a very long trip report about them both in Chit Chat. Thanks, ~Flea

  7. seriously luna park sydney is god, the wild mouse never opearted at the time unfortunately but the tumble bug, ranger, ufo, rotor, coney island, ferris wheel, spider, dodgems, tango, and the big dipper was operating. the park was never busy and only took like an hour to tour all the rides but the big dipper was all worth while. it was the best and i liked how at night the atmosphere there was extravagant and i really liked how you would ride the big dipper at night while going up the conveyabelt towards the harbour bridge. the good part of the ride is how you go 1 metre above the drop just to pick up speed before the first drop. i love that part, its really esciting. i have to say the best ride there is the tango. its also the longest ride ever. it goes forwards and backwards and just maked you laugh so much. luna park is still good but IMO i have to say without the big dipper which stood out so much and made the park look so good. the park will be boring and never be the same again. wonderland should have bought the big dipper actually. it would of continued the sydney atmosphere where the ride truly belongs.
[run_spellcheck.exe]. No offense or anything, but the way you write messages is real annoying and un-readable. I can't stress how much this is getting on my nerves, but I really want to be able to read people's messages, not deliberately skip the whole post for the sake of my I.Q. Thanks, ~Liam
  8. We hope it doesn't break down ever again! :D
And let's hope pigs will fly! :P It's obvious that more major breakdowns will occur once again, I'm afriad that TTD is one pre-mature ride. More extensive testing was needed before opening, much like disney is running tests for months with their new ride (Mission: Space at Epcot). Hopefully, this will put a big blow on all types of theme parks to run extensive tests with their new prototype before opening it to the public. ~Liam
  9. We stopped walking for a bit to watch the operation of Dragon's Flight. mini-Picture%20007.jpgYeah, I get dizzy on this ride.. Down we went to TBB, and grabbed 2 rides. (front and back) This was to be the only 2 rides of the day, since the rides literally nearly split my back in half (I still have a sore back now..). We walked over to Snowy River Rampage to watch the suckers get (kind of) drenched. mini-Picture%20008.jpgLook at those weird freaks.. We decided to take a trip on the train to Transylvania. We borded the train, and then found 2 girls that we're very annoying. They were telling off all the game attendants, as if they were trying to show off to us. Besides, Andrew's very sexy (who wouldn't wanna show off to him ;)) We hopped off the train, and had lunch at Batty Chicken. We ate at the tables that provided a great view of Bounty's Revenge. mini-Picture%20009.jpgOuch. We saw a few ducks in the lake, so Andrew decided to throw a few chips in. Sure enough.. mini-Picture%20010.jpgAnd you think you've seen a crazy duck! right-mini-Picture%20011.jpgJust a random shot of Demon. It was now time for the DareDevil BMX stunt show. mini-Picture%20012.jpgmini-Picture%20013.jpg The show was ok. But really nothing special. We left halfway during the show, since we weren't too interested in people hurting themselves by stacking it 10 feet high, and blaring grunge music. Not a very good show, but worth a look. We took a ride on Space Probe, and Billy was now operating it. (I got on/off ride video! Coming soon..) After this, we took a ride on Zodiac and got a few more shots. mini-Picture%20027.jpgA look at the now defunt Little Wonders Land We then took a few more rides on Space Probe and Demon, then left the park. Here's a few more photos.. mini-Picture%20028.jpgmini-Picture%20029.jpgThe planes on Little Monsters Flying School seemed to have been painted. The ride was not in operation today. mini-Picture%20030.jpgTwo new carnival type stores were added in Botany Bay today. Picture here is the donut shop, which has an awesome american themed paintjob. mini-Picture%20031.jpgAnd here's the other shop that sells fairy floss. The scary thing is that an 8 year old was working in the shop (and that's no joke.) mini-Picture%20033.jpgI dunno, I just find this picture funny. mini-Picture%20034.jpgInstead of buying coasters, they sell them! Argh! mini-Picture%20035.jpgAnd the last one for the week, a picture of the sign that advertises the upcoming Super Hero Headquarters. I hope you enjoyed the TR and photos! If you wish to have the larger, higher quality photos, just pm me and I will have them sent to you right away. Thanks, ~Flea
