  1. Are you referring to that big BANG and it makes a clunky kind of noise afterwards? that scared the heck outta me the first time..it was like the ride broke down but you kind of look forward to hearing it after a few rides..like you swing east than west and your like "here it comes.." and there it goes. I was scared the first time..enjoyed it alot but as we were in the line up the restraits failed to open so my brother and I were like "there is no way we are getting on that!" and went to the cyclone instead but when we went back a day or two later we went on it and it was very very cool..best view..minus that afternoon sun in your eyes. Definately one of the best rides at the park. Took a few goes to get up the confidence to let go fully and put my arms in the air but when your facing the ground on a ride you know hardly anything about you kind of do tend to worry. I think the wipeout is just old..I read on a site last night that it use to be "very quiet, more quiet than a mouse" but with age rides make more noise and get more rougher like the Tunderbolt I hope if they were to replace it they put another younger wipeout in its place..I love it..hate that slow swing towards the end but it's a great ride..wish the melb show brang one of those in again.

  2. I think WVTP meant that there is already a water park in Australia so why make one? I dont think Dreamworld are doing a terrible thing..WNW is the premier water park in Australia but maybe if they have competition they might actually introduce more slides more often or something. I agree with the mayor though there are plenty of people on the GC to accomodate two water parks..I mean there are three theme/thrill parks and people dont complain so whats the difference? sure DW is like a fish out of water with this water park but they arent complete strangers to water parks..they've had blue lagoon for awhile and kept it going ok.

  3. I was on the bus on Friday night and saw a ad for Superman..it wasnt that 01002 type either [although I did see that the day before], it said "Superman Escape flying into Warner Bros. Movie World December 26 2005" andhad a picture of a few people on a rollercoaster with otsr..was quite impressive compared to those 01002 ads.

  4. Well what I said was my personal opinion. I ride a ride because I want too not because of what I see and hear on a website/from someone else. The reason why I want to ride Superman is because I've never been on a launch coaster and so it'll be a new experience, I ride the other rides because I like it. I rode The Claw because it was a new experience, not because it wwent X speed, X high, spins X amount of times. I rode Lethal because again it was a first for me. I rode Cyclone for the same reasons and I continue to ride those rides [and will [hopefully] ride Superman again and again] because I enjoy it. Before going to Surfers in 2003 the closest I came to a theme park was Luna Park Melbourne so the whole website / word of mouth thing doesnt [personally] bother me and that is what my whole post was about but you are right marketting is a top way and if it does the job than good luck to MW but there are people in this world that just ride ride's because they havent before or they enjoy the experience.

  5. I think you guys are taking this whole website way too seriously. It's just a website; what is on the website will not effect the ride itself and nor will it make you want to ride it more or less because if you wanted to ride it before the site than you should wanna ride it after seeing the site - unless of course you are one of those type of people who do thing's based on what they see and hear than well I feel sorry for you. It's just a website, dont take it so seriously. At least there IS a website for this..how many rides at MW or even DW have thier own site? I cant think of any that I've come across.

  6. I am sort of curious what is wrong with wooden coasters? I know a few wooden coasters that are more smoother and thrilling than any BM and Intamin coasters on the market.
I don't like woodies either..be such a shame if DW built/put up a woodie instead of another decent ride but that's my personal opinion. I think you should keep in mind..not everyone has gone outside Australia so the only woodies they have ridden on are either the ones at wonderland or luna park.
  7. I got lightheaded the first time on the drop which was the east side but I think that was just the thrill of being so high, the thrill of not knowing when you are going to drop and the thrill of not knowing if you are indeed going to make it out alive [since it doesnt look safe on first inspection]. Last time I was at Dreamworld [which was may this year] the east side was working but when it came to our turn my brother said we wanted to go on the west side and the ride op said that the east side "just" broke down..seems to break down more often than the west.

  8. Have you walked around the whole park Kyle? cause if so that'll be more than the walk to the BB house. I never heard the tot or any sounds from the park when I visited the house last year which suprised me because I thought you would be able to hear it but I wasnt sure how far exactly it was from the park since I dont watch bb.

  9. You cant really compare MW 01 to MW 05 because alot has changed since than. I think having Shrek is an awesome idea, I love Shrek and would gladly choose that over Wiggles World any day and I dont mind watching the Wiggles but at least with Shrek you know you are going to have some fun and laughs.

  10. Making it 18+ is a silly idea in my mind.  If its 18+ then everyone's just going to get drunk and act like idiots.  Only one place last night was selling alcohol, and it worked perfectly. Now if only we could get SW and MW to stay open late for night trade...
I was gonna say the same thing, DW is a family park, if they made it 18+ than they would kind abe condraticing themselves in my opinion. Sure not many families will go because of the times but there are some that will go, when I went to the one in May there were quite a few people with 8-12 year olds so 18+ wont be the smartest move for DW. My brother went to this one, kept texting me "going on [ride] now" and it sounded like he was having a fun time, which is more than what we had in May so it sounds like DW is slowly learning how to handle these type of events. I think MW at night would be awesome but DW have alot of rides so the que times are kind of split up between them where as MW only have what 3 rides that they would have open? [batman, scooby & lethal] so that might kinda be hard unless they have like 600 people or something..
  11. Yeah but if oyu go to some tourist lets say some chinese people and you mention Australia, they immediatly think of koalas (which is a national thing), the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House...which means people immediatley think of Sydney!...WOOOO GO SYDNEY!
Sydney is only well known because it gets the most exposure internationally, not because it's the best and if it was really the best wouldnt mw, dw, sw and wet n wild be there instead of at the goldy? ;) I do agree it should be somewhere else besides the Goldy but Sydney? dont think so. I wouldnt mind a DL here but I highly doubt it would live up to the Disney name like it does in other Countries. We arent as huge as those countries heck the population of Australia is equal to the population of NYC so we are really really small..too small for a great Disney park that everyone expects.
  12. Isnt that superman ride in the states [the one like the tot] called superman escape or something? MW's food is horrible..they took the burgers and stuff from the wild west burgers place and replaced it with hot dogs! quite liked those burgers..expensive as they were. Dreamworld is definately the better of the two at the moment..we did mw in an hour and a half and that included lethal, scooby, wild west, road runner, river ride, the tweety ride and that purple rocket thingy at the back near the exit of river ride.

  13. The rides are practically twins? Both are rough and inverted, but that's where the similarities end.
Well as I have stated I dont know much about coasters but they both do the same thing, they both are inverted, they both are rough as guts, they both go up a hill into a drop [though reptar isnt as big as lethal its still a drop], both load times are slow, the ride operators wait until the train has returned before they let people through the gate [where you line up] so than you have to wait extra few mins while they do that..pretty much the same on those perspectives but I'm sure by your comment that they arent the same in terms of technical stuff but I know nothing about that so I wont say anything about that. Also note Scott I said practically not definate or anything.
  14. I think the placement is good, it's right in front so it's an eye catcher and you dont have that far to run to when you first arrive. Hope it doesnt block the view of lethal from the gates though, seeing one coaster is alright but seeing two is a little better..specially if superman gets packed than you know there is another coaster..although you do see it when you come in but still would be nice to see it when you walk in like you do at the moment.

  15. But you cant watch the batman ride and I personally would rather be in the library, specially if it was hot as outside. Might be boring but at least your brain wont be fried from the sun and it's not that bad..the ride is a little rough, they need to install something to hold onto besides under your seat, specially in that front row.
