  1. ok seems im outvoted here.. I really thought people wanted to have a thrill ride park so the idea of a high thrill coaster sounded great as we dont have anything like that here.. I thought it went like this if you want water go to wetnwild if you want animals go to seaworld if you want family go to movieworld if you want high thrills go to dreamworld oh well time will tell
  2. I just dont see the point of putting a waterpark in when you can go to wet n wild.. Sure Dreamworld want to have variety but how can they compete with wetnwild for ride technology and thrillness when its wetnwilds main core of business. Dreamworld should stick to thrill non water rides they are doing well at the moment.. Also does anyone else agree that the cyclone is not a suitable replacement for the TB?? The TB was a classic great rollercoaster and an icon for the park.. Its replacement must also be as well Sure the claw and the TOT and the GD are all good but did you know that coasters are still the most popular thrill amusement ride??? The ride people keep coming back again and again for
  3. they do have more land available for expansion besides.. the track can run through the park at a higher level like the TOT does and the top hat section could fit in TB area
  4. I think a waterpark is a big mistake.. The current one is great I think and when you visit Dreamworld for a day there is usually enough time to visit it and have a few swims.. by the time you dry off etc its been a couple of hours.. To have another waterpark as well means you have to dry off and walk to the other side of the park and get wet again You will waste half a day if you want to visit both.. I seriously think that dreamworld needs to continue with high thrill rides such as giant drop, tot and the claw.. The other parks cater to the whole family with cute characters, animals and street parades etc.. Dreamworld needs to stay as the park people visit for great rides So stuff the waterpark.. are they are going to heat it so its available all year round otherwise that would be a waste wouldnt it.. Please put a high thrill coaster there, the cyclone does not replace the thunderbolt.. its an ok coaster but not that thrilling.. put a top thrill dragster there or something..
  5. surely it couldnt be that long of a wait??? The roller coaster has been gone for quite some time and I remember the news article showing it being removed and back then the PR from DW was saying there is something planned for that area.. So.. even back then they knew what they were going to put there.. how much longer would they wait until they do it?? Ok so the attraction at the moment is still the claw.. so they gotta ride out the new ride hype on that for a while.. but would you think if they were going to build a new ride that they might want to have it ready just after the superman ride opens up to compete.. I reckon this could be the case.. Im hoping they have a ride which will be better than superman and they will wait until it opens and everyone thinks this is the best ride and they will then announce hey but we are going to put this better ride in.. So hopefully not long now to wait and find out..
  6. If one was to go to the US and only has a chance to visit one or two parks in either california or new york, what would you suggest those parks to be?? I would already visit universal studios and disneyland so not counting those two.. I like six flags magic mountain but it doesnt have a ride like top thrill dragster at cedarpoint and I also like the dive ride at buschlands but cedar and buschlands arent exactly close to california or new york are they?? Would six flags great adventure be the go where they have the kingda ka?? To me the top thrill dragter type rides look to be the most extreme rides at the moment?? Is this the case?? anyone who has been to these parks / rides please help as I dont have the ability to visit many parks while in the states but I would like to visit one or two of the best parks I can Thanks
  7. I think definitely another roller coaster needs to replace the Thunderbolt.. The thunderbolt was the icon of the park and the cyclone ride to me is not its replacement, it doesnt compare to the fun of the TB. I think the cyclone ride was mediocre.. I enjoyed the TB much more.. So I think the cyclone needs to stay as a secondary coaster and the park needs a new icon.. Being that Dreamworld is the one theme park on the coast which is more about rides and now mostly thrill rides at that, the replacement needs to be another thrill ride.. I think a ride like the Top Thrill Dragster at cedar point would put the park on the map.. It would be a first for Australia and certainly looks like a nice thrill ride... There are two now in the states that I know of, another at six flags magic mountain so looks like a popular ride choice for theme parks to install.. If not this ride then another sugesstion would be to have a fast, loopy coaster similar to the TB.. I still think it outdid the cyclone By the way.. I remember reading long ago about a huge expansion for Dreamworld including hotel and other stuff.. Cant see any posts here about it anyone know any more about when and what??
  8. Just had a look at the profile of this ride because I had never heard of it and I am a frequent Dreamworld visitor - I am born and bred Gold Coaster so I have been going to the park since I was old enough to remember it Anyways I was surprised to find out it it is the old Roulette ride which used to be where the wipeout is now.. I remember this ride vividly and rode on it many times and I am happy it is still at the park... However the profile says it was moved and renamed from the roulette ride and the wipeout location to the stingray in 1994. And so suggesting the ride has never left the park I dont think this is the case?? I am fairly sure the ride was taken away for the wipeout and to my knowledge it never returned any where in the park even renamed... The last time I was there was 2002 and there was no Nickoledon then.. I noticed the stingray is in this area of the park.. So was this ride returned to the park when the Nick area opened up as I am pretty sure this is the case.. I would have remembered seeing it relocated and renamed for the past 11 years as it was one of my favourite rides.. Can anyone else confirm.. if so I wonder where it has been all that time?? Dreamworld must have a huge storage area somewhere if they are storing large rides such as these for 10 years.. Also on another note.. I hope the Thunderbolt is replaced with another roller coaster but an extreme one.. like the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point that looks like one sweet ride and there is also one at Six Flags Magic Mountain now so it looks to be a popular choice and also a nice thrill ride... Straight up and straight down twisting and turning.. If not my second choice would be to have a stand up coaster.. That would be unique for Aus..
