  1. OHHHHH MYYYYY GOD!!!!!!! :o:huh::D . Best waterpark in AUSTRALIA!!! Seriously guys in the next few years, aus coaster enthusiats won't have to go overseas to experience world class attractions. Dreamworld has some of the latest and most up-to-date technology in waterparks. A freakin LIM powered hill instead of a conveyerbelt (this will make the "going up the hill" very smooth - as mensioned in the article). Soon we will be getting a B&M and a hyper-coaster, which is all is needed for me not to spend big $$ on going to another country. Anyway, GO WWW!!!!!!! :D CoasterBoy6 P.S: I'm hoping that the B&M and hyper-coaster will come in the near future (3-4 years). It's not a new rumor or new news.

  2. Great choice Seaworld!!! :D Even though it's 2 years old, it still looks really new and the gondala's look really comfortable. I really can't complain about this addition, Sea World really needed a ride like this. And even though it's not a thrill ride or coaster, Its Australia's biggest and newest ferris wheel (until 2008 when the Melbourne's answer to the London Eye is built). Anyway, If it's an Australian record then I'm there, and I can't wait for Tsunami next year (another Australian First) :D . CoasterBoy6

  3. Ok, this is really cool news, cause I live in Melbourne!! Have a look at the Adventure Park website: Adventure Park Website They will be adding a really compact waterpark for 2007. The attractions listed on the website: 1. Six lane Aqua Racer 2. Lazy River (with waterfalls, rapids) 3. A Kids play area (like Buccaner Bay) They are also bringing the world's Largest inflatable Waterslide for a limited amount of time. (the dates are on their website) This is really exciting, cuase they could expand this new waterpark into something as big a Jamberoo. But I doubt It. What do you guys think about this? CoasterBoy6 Oh Please Note: This has only been posted on R-C.com.au and not any other website.

  4. I think that the new ride will suit Seaworld really well with all the tsunami theming. :) However, they should of gone for a Disk-O. The coaster that they have decided on has a skateboard theme to it already. But with a Disk-O you can theme it to what ever you want. Take "Survivor the ride" for an example (I've posted a pic below of the ride). It's not just an ordinary Disk-O but it has a air-time hill in the middle of the two spikes. Even though it's not a coaster it still would of looked relly cool and probably would have given the same affect as the half-pipe. ;)Here is the pic. You can see the hill just after where the Disk-O gondala is positioned: CoasterBoy6

  5. Interesting rumor. Hopefully they won't just remove the outdoor queue but the entire cinema pre-show too. As everyone has said, it's wasted space. This isn't the Half-Pipe from Sea World is it?
Interesting thought Adam - The R-C.com.au ride databass does say that there might be a last minute decision were the half pipe will go to a different park. Well, that's my two-cents. CoasterBoy6
  6. Well that was a disapointment. :( It sounded like the two parks actually had the potential to get built; the money was there and so was the organisation. Something that souned like it could have been Disneyland Downunder was starting to get me really interested. Oh weal, I guess that's how bussiness works. ^_^ CoasterBoy6

  7. Movieworld is a very good park if you ask me, and they are doing a great job with deciding on what new rides to put in and when. And the new addition of Batwing will make it more spectacular! :D . A little bit of topic here, but I think Universal Studios Hollywood is not as good as Movieworld. Long story short, my friend went to America over the school holidays and on the first day of school gave me 2 park maps, Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. Being the little theme park freak I am, I cherished these items and thanked him all day. ^_^ . When i was looking at Universal Studios map, I noticed that they've only got one roller coaster: Revenge of the Mummy, The Ride. I know it's not Islands of Adventure but it's still a major theme park in California and more people seem to go there than the one in Florida. Here is the list of RIDES that are labelled on the map: 1. Special Effects Stages 2. Backdraft 3. Revenge of the Mummy 4. Jurrasic Park the ride 5. Terminator: 3D 6. Studio Tour 7. Shrek 4-D 8. Van Helsing - Fortress Dracula 9. Nick - Blast Zone Most of those are not really RIDES but special effects shows. Movieworld's got more Rides than special effects shows. List: 1. Superman Escape. 2. Batman adventure ride. 3. Shrek 4-D. 4. Scooby-Doo. 5. Lethal Weapon. 6. Road Runner. 7. Looney Tunes River ride. 8. Wild West falls 9. Looney tunes Village. (Universal's kids area is a Waterpark - WTF!! They don't even have a proper kids area. ) I don't know about you guys but I'll save the money and just do the Florida one. They have got all the attractions in the Hollywood Universal Studios and more. What are all you guys thoughts? CoasterBoy6

  8. When I was up there - the week before Queensland's school holidays - they were runing two trains on roadrunner and only one train on Superman!!!!!! WTF :o:huh::angry::wacko::blink: . Raod runner was a walk on and i got about five rides in a row but I had to wait for about 30mins at least to do SE!!! Seriously, why can't they just run two trains all the time??? - It's not like they are going to be told of for doing so. I always love short lines!! :D Coaster Boy 6

  9. As Dreamworld is apparently getting a Vekoma, I decided to do some research on new coaster designs. I have posted a link to a website which shows a overlook of the Euro attractions show 2006. Sme of the concepts are really cool and look like the companies will make alot of money out of them at the bottom of that page click on the second page. This showcases some of Vekoma's new creations. Things from launched suspended coasters to half pipe rides are mensioned. I sugest you have a look over the two pages: It is really interesting!! Some of the new Vekoma concepts would suit Dreamworld very well. And I have not seen a launched suspended coaster Before - P.S: *cough*DREAMWORLD HAS TO BUY THIS*cough* Coaster Boy 6 Here is the link: Euro Attractions Show 2006

  10. It looks like the Tornado has got a bit of an extra turnaround before the drop - e.g: look at the 2nd pic. Instead of doing a 180 U-turn like Tornado at W'n'W, it does a 270 turn around. Dreamworld have really pulled through with their promise and has even stomped all over my expectations for new types of rides. I was only thinking of things like a Tornado, mammoth (not enclosed), an elaborate kids area and a couple of tubed rides. But a rocket slide, a first ever 8-lane Octoracer, a Toanado and a Behemoth Bowl just really shows what they are about to accomplish with this waterpark. And WVTP have ever right to be scared of WWW  . Forget about W'n'W next year. Go Dreamworld!!! :D Coaster Boy 6

  11. This new news of the December attraction is starting to get me interested. However, if what Joz has said is right then Dreamworld have sunk to an all time low!! The Tombraider attraction was only a temporary haunted house ride. Maybe dreamworld is building the same thing but making it a full-time attraction in the Blue-Lagoon area. However, Dreamworld could of bought a brand spanking new darkride with all the high tech stuff in it. It could be a walkthrough, a boatride or a normal haunted house cars driven dark ride. Anyway, for a dark ride the possibilities are endless. I just want to know what this new attraction is - seems to be a good addition already!!! :D CoasterBoy6

  12. Hey Tony don't worry, I'll join up on zen as soon as possible - Just give me the website! I'll post my trip reports and Tornado review up there as well. Anyway, back on topic. I'm guessing it is going to be a London EYE type Ferris wheel. Because how mattcrombie described the new addition:

I got the low down on the new Attraction that is coming our way at Seaworld just recently. Im happy to say its definitely a eye opener and you will all be intrested.
Hence the "EYE opener" coment. I completly suck at this!!!! Coaster Boy 6
  13. :D Really good TR WnW Rocks!! When I was up there the same things were closed - It looked like Whirlpool was getting some major maintenence and the stupid flumes on White Water Mountain had such a long wait! :( Apparently, when W'n'W was refurbishing the slides they changed where the put the censors that tell the light to turn green. The lifegaurd told me that it usually turns green every 30 secs but now it's going off every 50 secs. However, the line for the Terror Canyons wasn't that bad. We got on after about 15 mins. Glad you liked Tornado! Don't worry I was nervous as well - the stepness of the drop really takes you by suprise. The Mach 5 attractions (I think) are a really good addition to this park. Especially the Jetstreams. I went with my friend (which is the same age as me) and my little bro. (Only 8 years old :o ) I asked him over and over If he was sure that he wanted to go on it - he just replied 'yes'. We all went down the ones on the sides. I went down first - It really does feel like you fly over the second hump. Then my bro. went - he thought it wasn't that bad, suprislingly, then my friend - nearly s%@t his pants!!! Anyway, It sounded like you had a great time and two thumbs up for the TR!! :D Coaster Boy 6
  14. Just came back from the Gold Coast yesterday! I'll give a full and detailed trip report on the original topic later today or tomorrow. Anyway, you know how worried I was, thinking that Tornado won't be open when I was up on the GC. Well, I decided to go on the best day (weather wise) to W'n'W. This was on the Friday. This was because there was hardly any wind and it was mostly sunny (even though the temp. only reached a maximum of 21 Degrees). And to my luck TORNADO WAS RUNNING BEFORE IT'S OFFICIAL OPENING!!!!!! :o:blink::D . It was also my first time on all the H2O Zone waterslides. This new area has truthfully increased the capacity of Wet'n'Wild. The only slide in the park that had a really big queue (which took about 25 mins) was the speed coaster. The others had very reasonable lines, most of the time under 10 mins! Now onto Tornado, I was very surprised how big the funnel was when you see it from the highway. The line goes very quickly, probably because the ride is very short. And I also noticed that the only slide in H2O Zone that is not heated is Tornado  . As you sit on the cloverleaf rafts you notice how comfortable and how safe you actually feal in them. The tunnel before the drop is nothing special and it’s not even dark inside it. The drop into the funnel took me by surprise and gives you heaps of speed. The rest of the ride goes really quickly, the first and second time you go up the walls of the funnel is the best and gives you the feeling you are going to fall out of the tube. After that you bash into the water, which gathers at the bottom of the funnel. Although it’s rough it gets you soaked, which is what you want from a waterslide. And the water curtain adds to the final splashdown. Overall, Tornado is a fantastic ride and I suggest everybody who has a chance to ride it to go on it. It’s a buzz. :) CoasterBoy6

  15. I can't believe he's gone!! :( . He was a great Aussie Icon. I loved the faces and expressions he pulled when hunting a crcodile or another animal, he really made me laugh  . Even though he was only 44 years old when he died, I think Steve lived life to the full. He has had two kids, owned one of the largest zoos in the world (trust me it's big, went there last year), made movies and documenteries that screened all over the world and traveled all over the place. He had fame, fortune and wonderfull family; What else do you need!? ^_^ Right now i couldn't even imagine what the family is going through; the must be really upset. And good on them for not having a state funeral. He deserves a decent burial (not the whole of Australia watching his family go through this hard time) and, apparently, that's what Steve wanted (according to his father). The whole of Australia will miss you Steve, you really showed how one man can make a huge difference to the world we live in. At least he died doing what he liked doing best. CoasterBoy6

  16. Thanks for that guys. Looks like i won't be missing out on riding Tornado! Just one small question. Do you think Sunrise will get Grant Denyer to go to WnW for the new arrival of Tornado? Sunrise did it for Superman Escape and Mach 5, surely they would think of going. Also, when do you think they will get him to go? They usually put the dates up in the latest news section on WnW's website (well, thats what they have done in previous occasions). I've been checking regualar for the past week and nothing has been mentioned. CoasterBoy6

  17. Its on a Banner at the Park and Also Numerous Staff have told me. You will be here on the 16th. Just go on the opening day.
Won't there be heaps of media and hardly nobody ( in the public) will be able to ride it. Also, The lines for other rides in H2O Zone (including Tornado) will be really long. However, I have never been to a ride opening before so i don't know what to expect. CoasterBoy6
  18. Matt, i'd like to know how reliable that date is for the ride opening. If it is the 16th I am so p@##$d off!! I've been watching this ride being constructed for about half a year and i won't be able to ride it! The dates i'm going up are from the 10th to the 17th of September. I'm only 13 years old (which means I don't really have the power to select dates) and my parents planed the trip the week before the Queensland school holidays so we don't have to put up with the big crowds. Stuff the crowds, I just want to ride TORNADO!!!!. Anyway, at least I'm going to Queensland - You got to look at the positive side of things i guess. ^_^ CoasterBoy6

  19. Awww, come on!! Not even a clue Rabid? I hope when you are talking about this new attraction, you're not talking about the Half Pipe Coaster. I would also like to know how long it's going to take Seaworld to officialy announce the attraction? Please Rabid shine some more light on this subject! ^_^ CoasterBoy6

  20. Good find Matty. They should have it in the travel section of the Sunday Herald Sun tomorow - Fingers crossed! I really can't read the article properly because of its size and the scaned pic being small. So i can't really comment on what I think, sorry. I might be wrong, but i think some people were talking about another ride (in the original "Sea World's New Coaster" Forum Topic) other then the half pipe coaster. But they didn't say it was goin in before December. I'm going up to the GC in about two weeks with my family. I'll be able to see if any construction is going on. Ohh, just one thing. Could you scan the top part of the article, so that you can see the tornado picture on the top of the paper. CoasterBoy6
