  1. I think they would have to replace it with another indoor attraction, to stay on top of things (well try to) considering MW has the Scooby Coaster. ;) I'd like to see the full knock down the mountain and create a whole brand new experiance, like a mine train ride, starting in a new mountain, similar to the one currently there. The train would zig zag its way thru the 'Mines of Dreamworld' (it could maybe be linked with the Giant Drop theme of the oil digging?) then the train accellerates thru the mountain, coming out at the top of mountain (sorta a Volcano shaped mountain) and the track winding down the sound of the mountain.. The track would then zig zag thru small camel humps around the Gold Rush area, and sorta make a 'border' to the themed area (like the Scenic Railway does at LPM). The track would then makes its way back to the mountain and finish. The main coaster part would consist of no inversions, however it would use a couple of helixes. I know I'm dreaming big, but we can only dream, can't we? I'd love to see my idea put into a scetch by someone, or whatnot. It would be Superman (accelleration coaster) meets Scooby (indoor coaster for the start, with intensive theming to set the scene) meets Scenic Railway (turns into a proper coaster[metal coaster themed to wooden] for the rest of the track). Here is my verison of my idea. The blue circle/shape is where the new mountain would go, And the yellow line is the track layout, going anti-clockwise.. nqdyj8.jpg

  2. That would be a good thing. Now the franchise has "rebooted", we need to see any Batman rides with that kind of atmosphere. Batwing captures that well but Wayne Manor is in need of a better facade & an update to the ride film. I'm sure there are upgrades to the simulator vehicles that can be performed too. Don't know if it's just me but I also remember the first film as being more intense; have never enjoyed this second version as much. Batman 3 should bring back more of a ride experience. The simulator currently feels more akin to something you'd ride at the Ekka albeit with better-themed surrounds.
I've felt this too. I'd love to maybe see the whole facade revamped and the pre-ride show modernised. The ride film also deserves an upgrade. Maybe the could call it something else with the new upgrades apart from "Batman: The Ride 3"... Maybe something like "Batman: The Jokers Revenge?" or something like that..? Depends what the ride film is to be designed around. I feel revamping the Batman ride would be a great addition for the park, while the Police Acadmy show is being revamped to etc..
  3. I think if OST were to ever re-open, they should do something like "Blood on the Southern Cross". If you don't know it look at this: http://video.vividas.com/media/4031_SovHill/web/BOSC/
Wow. That looks amazing. I'd love to see OST do something like that? I can just picture a production put on of a convict uprising during the 19th century.. I could picture the grand-stand (where people sit) on the opposite side of the river/'Sydney Cove' looking across the 'harbour' towards the goal etc. Does anyone know, the ship at OST in the 'harbour' was that accessable to the public and did it ever move? Anyone got any photos or maps of OST? I'd love to see them.
  4. I assume that he is referring to the eerie atmosphere of being in a town that is modelled after 19th century Sydney.
I loved Old Sydney Town, I think it was amazing. I've never been to Sovereign Hill in Victoria, but if Old Sydney Town was to ever reopen, I think they should take a bit of inspiration from Sovereign Hill and expand the theming period of OST so they have more room for expanstion, giving more things to do there.
  5. Does anyone know, will Old Sydney Town ever re-open? I hope they do. However, I feel if they were to.. they'd need to extend the time period, of the place.. similar to Sovereign Hill in Victoria, give it more a time period to cover therefore; giving them more attractions etc etc. If they ever re-opened, they could get support from the Reptile Park etc. Who currently owns Old Sydney Town?

  6. Not sure if anyone knew this.. But Old Sydney Town is still completely intact and is currently lending the property for movie shots. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Sydney_Town http://www.oldsydneytown.com.au/ My friends from school have told me they got into Old Sydney Town and looked around, took pictures etc. They told me its still completely intact, and possibly even still functional. I'd love to see the place re-open. It was a great experiance!!

  7. It could go under the car park a couple of times but have theming like a cave with Aboriginal rock art or something. "DREAMTIME" The ride logo could be something really primal too.
Does that mean they'd have to dig up the car park first? Hmm, I don't mind that idea actually. It could be themed into GoldRush Country quite well too as Aboriginal's had a big part in the Gold Rush. I don't know how it would work bout I'd like to see it done.
  8. Thanks guys for your support on my ideas. I'd love to see my ideas implemented into the park, I think they could really benefit from them..

No.... i'll say that Chaos maniac posted it and say he has some really goood ideas?
Okkies. Lol. I was only joking anyways. I highly doubt Dreamworld would even listen anyways.. So go ahead if you wish.
I like the idea of the Sun Wheel concept, it would be a great alternative to Sea World's offering
My point exactly. They really need to rival Sea World. Similar to how Movie World is battling Dreamworld in terms of towers (EG: DW = Tower Of Tower. MW = Batman Spaceshot). Dreamworld should show Sea World that there is more to just the classic wheel, but thrills thrown in too!
I have also been on the Sun Wheel at DCA and found it a lot of fun - scary - but a lot of fun
I've never been on it, or a similar one. However, Dreamworld claims it has good thrills.. and TOT, Giant Drop, The Claw IMO are outdated thrills. For me, something scary is thrilling.. I don't know how others work. But if I'm scaried, I'm thrilled.
  9. It is a good ride and would look pretty impressive sitting in the middle of the island.
Thats actually a good idea. I'd love to see that happen? Only problem is, how would guests get onto the island considering the paddle steamer is in the way for a bridge.. Unless they design a bridge that would open up when the paddle steamer goes through?
Ferris wheel - Great success at Sea world, love to see that there.. Maybe something similar to the Sun Wheel at California Adventure Park.
Like I said originally, I'd love to see a replica of the Sun Wheel however.. in place of the sun, they could put the Dreamworld logo. It'd become a good source of advertisement. While the Ferris wheel would create a nice pleasent classic family ride, there would also be abit of thrills thrown in for those wishing to ride the moving carages. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Wheel Your ideas? I'd love to see a coaster and the SunWheel on the island.
  10. Well I think we would all agree Dreamworld needs a big come back or major updates? I've created this thread to see what people think of my idea and get peoples idea's for Dreamworld. Pictures, diagrams etc would be great. *Hopes Dreamworld management look at this thread* My idea follows:

    • Having a large coaster that loops around certain parts of the park, similar design to 'California Screaming' at California Adventure Park. Dreamworld lacks a good long coaster ride thats worth the line up and wait. I'd love to see a classic main-street coaster.
    • Fixing up Goldrush and Rocky Hollow. I feel they need to eliminate the use of the bridges here to connect the two themed lands if possible. However, I feel they should ultimately combine the two into one themed area, by doing so they would temporarily close of GoldRush country and Rocky Hollow for construction and with the addition of a new indoor coaster in replacement of Eureka Mine Ride.
    • Removing the chairlift station and poles. This is something that disturbs me. Why remove a ride and leave half or more still intact? Doesn't make sense. They need to remove these ASAP.
    • Making use of the 'island'. Dreamworld should make use of the island in the middle of their river/lake. They should turn it into a new themed area. I'd like to see something themed around typical 'Americana' style. Before the Captain Sturt paddle-steamer was re-painted it perfectly suited my idea as it seemed a 'Mississippi River' style. I'd like to see some classic family rides on the island as well as some new innovative ideas. Ferris wheel - Great success at Sea world, love to see that there.. Maybe something similar to the Sun Wheel at California Adventure Park.
    • Re-theming Cyclone, Tower Of Terror, Giant Drop and AVIS Vintage Cars (desperately needed here).

Anyways. Just my idea. What are yours? Come-on guys.

  11. I think Dreamworld just needs to get back into the normal retein maintence checks and upgrades. This way they wouldn't be faced with massive amount of maintence works at in a couple of months and then maybe even having to fully remove the ride. It would just make common sense... something that Dreamworld has seemed to loose lately?

Guys i was at Dreamworld today and the Wipeout has had a face lift! new paint and the water area below it has changed. Maby this is a park wide clean up?
The wipeout has been like that for a few months now I think. Just to inform you guys of the EXTENT of this upgrade to the wipeout, these are the changes that have happened... New Harnesses Beach Retheme, including the removal of the fountains and replacing it with a dock, moving the ocean parade footpath back, making more room on the beach, which may mean that the dock could be used for performances? The Wave has been re-painted Water Drained and painted water effect under the ride. Gondola Repaint New bag holders So it seems as though they are wanting to do some major work to the ride. And on another note, in the Tower Of Terror Queue line, the very noisy metal stairs have been removed, and replaced with more sturdy wooden stairs. and who knows, the reason that the ToT may be closed on the 19th is to do a clean up or put new Air Con in the queue line? I will say i'm starting to have some faith in Dreamworld again if they keep these upgrades going, and do it on a PARK WIDE basis.
Good news! :) Hopefully they'll keep this up. However while ToT and Wipeout did need maintence works, I'd really like to see them getting around to fixing up the area of Gold Rush. Maybe even completely closing off the area and re-doing it. Time will only tell.
