  1. I really don't think price is an issue for the Dubians (is that a word?). Just have a look at The Palm and The World development that is happening off the coast. "The Bus is now leaving for The Palm Lagoon, Queensland"
That is purely amazing. It's a great idea. However, abit off track right here.. but what about this Global Warming stuff how the oceans will rise up to 10 meters. Those islands don't look very high above sea-level. :( Anyways, that's amazing. I heard about The Palm ages ago, but not The World. I'd love to travel to Dubai some time. :)
  2. I think the thing that has worried people about DW is that all they have really done in terms of major attractions is put in a flat ride and a kids dark ride, and since then, just temporary/up charge attractions. We haven't seen anything really ground breaking from DW compared to the competition. The extended closure of Eureka has also been a worry.
My point exactly. Thanks. You took the words right out of my mouth. :o
Giant Drop isn't a roller coaster
    I know that....
  3. He's upset because there aren't enough roller coasters. In other words, he needs an excuse to complain about Dreamworld because he is sick of it. They aren't behind (actually, they are in front). Yes, you have a right to an opinion, but I think you should have some evidence to suggest they are going "downhill" before you make such a radical statement. On topic, It's really sad that the GCCC has decided to cancel this event. I think it would have been a lot of fun and very unique to what Movie World are pulling out. I think it's awesome to see parks opening at night more (Eg. Wet'N'Wild, Movie World Nights, Dreamworld Nights). It would be great to see them opening on a regular basis at night in the not too distant future. Edited because I realised I used the word "great" 3 times in one paragraph.
Umm. No actually. Why don't you find out the real reasons first?! And. Just so you know. I don't care bout the roller-coasters. I actually like The Claw more and Giant Drop. So, Cut down!
Chaos Maniac, In what ways do you feel Dreamworld is going downhill? I'm interested to hear.
Spotty, I understand Dreamworld have recently added Nightmares, White-Water World and Flow-Rider. However. Movie World has recently added Superman Escape and Batwing while keeping the park up-to scratch. Dreamworld has added Flow-Rider [in my mind... boring!], Nightmares.. which to me, doesn't sound to amazing. Also, I understand Thunderbolt may have been crap. But, they demolished it and haven't replace it. Also, the Eureka Mine Ride, I understand that's under-maintenance. But, what the heck is happening with it? Ethier way. I'm entitled to my thoughts. And thats what I think. Like it or not.
  4. I brought Age of Empire 3 on Tuesday afternoon from Dick Smiths for $59.00 [Woolworths limited discount]. Just wondering, if anyone else in the community has the game? And, if so. Do you guys play online/verse others? It's a fantastic game. I love it. Love playing as British or French. Favorite map to play on would be; Carribean or New England. Brilliant game. Looking forward to buying the expansion pack next week. :)

  5. vouchers that they aren't going to use? Is so, I would love to use them and could you please PM me. Thank-you
These topics are really s***ing me off! Please, stop posting them. Why not, pay full admission like most of the public does. Or, better yet, stop making new threads to ask this. I swear, there must be at least 100 of them on here. Stop, please!! <_<
  6. Hi. If anyone on here has Age Of The Empires 3? And, what it's like? I have number 1 and 2. And I'm currently thinking about getting number 3. But, I'm not sure. Does anyone know how much it would be etc? Thanks. Also. I have played it. But, it was a demo. Is it a big game file? Will it lag if RCT3 currently does on my computer [RCT3 lags only a little big, every now and then]?

  7. I recall there being a thread on here, mentioning how the Matrix exhibition is closing. Maybe, Movie Word might be putting in a Simpsons exhibition? However, if they do. I feel they should remove the Harry Potter train which is still sitting outside the Matrix exhibition. They should make a small area for the Harry Potter train, call it "Diagon Alley" and put all Harry Potter things there, maybe even a little attraction/ride. But, back to the Simpsons thing. I like the idea of the Italian Job sorta of coaster. However, the problem is, how would they theme it? Sadly, it'd look all 2d, and crappy like the picture posted of Bart.

  8. If they do a Simpsons show instead of a ride they should close Police Academy, then they could use the arena to make new big dark ride of some sort.
That's stupid. Why close a Movie World classic to replace for some crappy kiddie/teenager show? If anything, Movie World should build a new arena and place the show there. Not remove a classic which seems to amaze people every time I've been there! Also. Why do a show? Shows get boring. Why not do a ride?
  9. I am not too keen on this idea of The Simpsons at Movie World. I'm not to sure how'd they'd base any rides around it? Also, I'm not liking the idea of Movie World fading away from the traditional Warner Bros. movies. If they're going to do that. They may as well scrap the name "Warner Bros. Movie World". However. On the idea of trying to theme a ride around "The Simpsons" theme. I think, somehow they could make a coaster or something with animatronics to replicate the starting/opening scene of the show? I think someone else mentioned something like this? Maybe the could copy the DreamWorld styled ride 'Big Red Car'. And somehow, make it in some parts, go fast and others slow?

  10. Firstly. Sorry to bring back such an old topic. But anyways. Secondly. I've been wondering. Any new news about this place? I was out that way a few weeks ago. I stopped by an tried to see over the fences and what not. From, as far as I could see. The place was extremely ran down. Weeds and grass all over-grown. Tree branches everywhere. So on, so forth. However, surprisingly, as far as I could see. Everything was sorta still intact. I'm hopefully, going to head back out that way soon over the next few months. I'll try and get some photos. Thirdly. Has anyone heard about anything that's happening to the land which Old Sydney Town did, and still currently occupy? Has it been sold off to an investor, anything? It's sad to see it just sit there and degrade like Wonderland Sydney did. And, Fourthly [haha, is that even a word?]. My ideas? I think it'd be great for something to reopen on the land. Maybe a small amusement park? The 'Central Coast' (where I live) really needs something. They could, some how link up with the Australian Reptile Park, and do a 2 day pass typed idea, and a cheaper option of accommodation somewhere in Gosford.

  11. As for Scooby, it was built with Mirrors on the floor to add to the effect of height as well as the lasers. The fog juice machines should spray every time a new train enters the room. They are occasionally turned off if the fog gets too thick and spreads into the first part of the ride which is fitted with sensitive smoke detectors. For this reason, they may have toned it down to minimise the risk of costly visits from the Fire Brigade!
Umm. Then make them not so sensitive? Or, why not put a door or something in to stop the smoke/fog going in? Plus, wouldn't it kinda look a bit better having fog (not as thick as the coaster part) throughout the 'spooky'/ghost train section too? Very disappointed in movie world for this news. I shall slap them, .. hard! ;)
  12. Really!!??, this is strange. They must be making way for a lot of room. I hope, if they use so much land for the coaster, that they include some decent theming and some really cool special effects! Another thing that should be on every launch rollercoaster, and lacking on Superman, is a count down to the launch. I always thought that Superman should of had one of those set of lights that you see on surburban train tracks. It would go red, orange than green, and then you would launch.... Ahhhh, welll, I can dream!! CoasterBoy8
I don't know bout your idea with the launch thing. Maybe MovieWorld wanted an original approach? Doing something different than the original countdown styled launch. This move for the Vintage cars, in my opinion is good. Why? Hopefully it's made the realise that they need something over the other side of the park, near the log flume/ride. And, it also creates more room for this new coaster. Hopefully they'll fully occupie that land with the coaster and theming.
  13. Firstly, I'm not saying this would ever happen. This is just my thoughts on these topics. I don't think these would happen, cause it is wikipedia.

Captain Sturt Paddle Wheeler is getting a new show with the island set for development in early 2008
This could actually be a true 'rumor', why? Well as the rumors have been going around, that this new booster motorbike coaster that might be going in will have a section linking to the island. Maybe this development, could just be editing, the island for the coaster? While on this topic. What happened to the original show, why did they can it? And, I think a new show would add some much needed excitement to the attraction. It is very boring, super slow, and crap. I'd love to see the island set for development. It would be a good location for a new land, and a cool coaster sweeping around the island. Maybe they could theme it to a jungle theme. Kinda link it to Tiger Island, and have a coaster sweeping through the 'jungle', a flying coaster would be excellent for this? Or a Mississippi River and/or Americana theme to suit the Captain Sturt Paddle Wheeler attraction?
Rocky Hollow Log Ride: A refurbishment and retheming will occur in the next few years, with the layout changing
I really do think the Rocky Hollow area could do with a 100% full refurbishment. There isn't much there. And needs another ride/attraction to attract more people over that area of the park. Right now, I think about 70% of the parks peoples are in the Ocean Parade area. Having a refurbishment of the ride, with a new layout would be awesome. Maybe some more theming? Try aiming for The Claw's standard of theming?
Thunder River Rapids: Due to water restrictions, Dreamworld is considering the removal of the ride
The GoldRush area has, disappointedly, become terrible. As I've said before, you should not remove a ride, and not replace it (I'm talking bout Eureka Mine Ride). Seeing the removal of the Thunder River Rapids, would be a bad mistake of Dream World. And, if they were to do this. They may as well close off GoldRush. I will be very disappointed in Dream World if they do remove this and not replace it.
  14. Correction: WWW will be where thunderblot was if theres a extension in the future, and that part of land has been used over the years with their circus like show a couple of years ago and a part of flow rider is on the thunderbolt site. The old station has been refitted a couple of times from a cyclone shop to a flow rider one. I am impressed in how they have used the old site.
Impressed, how? Why? They've just whacked a shop in there for a ride and themed the building for that ride. How's that impressing? It's stupid. It's done nothing for the park except maybe raise merchandise sales. You should never remove a major ride or a coaster, and not replace it.
  15. Hence what I said before, Dreamworld has become sad. They aren't managing the park anymore. Tell me, What happened to the Mine Ride? Whats happened to Tower Of Terror? Whats meant to replace ThunderBolt? You don't remove attractions/rides and don't replace. It'd rather go to movie world any day now. Anyways, Back on topic. If Dreamworld REALLY does want to get back into the Theme park market they'd want to make this coast extremely good and a major attraction. They've fallen behind, and WhiteWater World won't pick them back up. Gazza, could you draw your version of how you'd like this ride to be? I really enjoy viewing your drawings on rides and theming. ^_^

  16. Oh yeah I see your point, Maynia in MAY..wow..original..what would you have called it?? it's original as Screamworld...cause you know Dreamworld is a so many worlds of fun park and you scream on most of the rides..
Dreamworld is going extremely downhil lately. They should just give up while behind.
