You're better off staying in/near the Melbourne CBD if you were coming down to do all 4 major themeparks/waterparks.

To be fair, the coasters on offer at those 2 parks are all clones. But yeah they are unique parks that are worth a visit.

You are right. I did a quick scale photoshop of a Sky Rocket II. It fits! Not sure if LPM has height restrictions. If not, it would be a great investment for the park. It'll also be Australia's tallest launch coaster if built. Thank me later LPM haha.

This "new" ride cycle, is a safety feature working as designed. The ride has been programmed to run the original 1 loop cycle that was on Buzzsaw. But after the relocation and refurb of the trains, the ride seems to be running faster than usual; and thus it's entering the vertical brake run too fast for the brakes/computer to successfully catch it on the first go. So the brakes don't engage, giving the extra swing back and forth (killing speed) so it can successfully 'catch' the train at a slower speed.

I've gotten this cycle multiple times now, and I think it really adds to the overall ride experience. A lot of fun!

Yep! From what we saw, it looks like there will be 3 main queues: Standby (main queue), Fast pass, and single rider. There is also a dedicated switch back in the station for the front row, if you wish to wait longer.

Media Preview Day - 19/12/22

Was very lucky to attend a media preview and TV commercial filming day of both coasters yesterday. A big thankyou to the Gumbuya World team for giving Parkz an early access look at both coasters! It is greatly appreciated.  

Got to ride TNT, but Project Zero was still undergoing testing and commissioning.

My initial thoughts on TNT: Pacing and 'flow' of elements are fantastic. The beginning is surprisingly intense (for a family coaster), and ends with a tamer section that is twisty and just plain fun. This is definitely a back row ride for the extra thrills. The coaster is smoooth....even more than I was expecting. No vibrations, no jolting, no headbanging. Vekoma's next gen bucket seats and minimal lap bar harnesses are very comfortable. Theming and area presentation is looking great, but was still being worked on - especially the internal queue space. So I'll wait for opening day to give more thoughts on that.

We got to see Project Zero test, and go inside the queue building. The station and queue space has got a premium office/facility feel - and really sets up the whole space test area theme. There is a viewing window from the queue that allows you to appreciate the speed and intensity of this coaster even before the air gate platform. Really interested to see how the old buzzsaw tracks since the rebuild, repaint and refurb. Overall it was 'sounding' a lot more smoother, quieter and less 'clunky' - especially the lift chain and vertical brakes.

You can tell the whole team at Gumbuya World are very excited, and proud, about the 2 new attractions. And so they should be. Can't wait for the opening on the 23rd!

Visited last weekend to get a glimpse of testing of TNT. I am honestly surprised at how quiet the coaster is - there is no rattling or banging/shuddering noises. You essentially just hear the air rush past the train.

More theming and landscaping has been done on both coasters. Rockwork is being done on the entry and exit of the first underground tunnel on TNT. 'Distress' painting of the factory/shed station has been added, and the interior of the station is also getting some love now. Project Zero has an entry sign, and exterior space testing facility theming has begun to show up. The whole area of the park is now starting to look 'finished' and lived in, rather than a construction site. Just over 1 more week before opening day!

An update from park's fb page shows that the drop into the funnel has been installed. And crews are working on the flying saucer element on the ground. Not long to go now. My bet is we see an opening during the week prior to Christmas Day.

Yes, your comment may be considered to some as a little "nit picky", but it is ok to post those opinions on these boards - after all that's what this forum is for. I believe most members on this site are mature enough to understand that your comment as a whole was positive. And that you are someone who appreciates detailed theming and consistency in storyline.

I think @New display name has the right idea. The logic is that the TNT inside the shed has exploded, causing the tin to deform outwards.

Despite the terrible weather over the past 2 weeks, construction is speeding along! Track is complete on TNT, and themeing is slowly being added. A lot of concreting has been done around both coasters. I got to witness them installing the train bogies for TNT, which was a really interesting process. If you want to see that in chronological order, start here, and go backwards. They ain't mucking around, and are really pushing for that Dec 23rd opening!

[Funfields - New 2020 Tornado Waterslide]

Below are some high-res photos from the trip to the park this past weekend. The starting tub, cropped Tornado 60 element, final S-curve and final drop have all been completed. The drop into the funnel was sitting on the ground (pre-assembled), ready to be installed next. Overall, I think the slide layout is really well paced, with an exciting beginning (flying saucer), middle (tornado) and end (s-curve into final drop). Looking forward to the bonus translucent colour effects.

Maybe after Jungle Rush they could round off the area, with another supporting family attraction - a boat ride around the existing river. Not the return of the paddle steamer, but perhaps something along the lines of Snake River Expedition at Cedar Point.

Project Zero delivers the visual wow-factor for Gumbuya World - towering over everything else in the park. It brings the "pre-entrance hype" as it can be seen from the highway and carpark/entrance. I'm also really digging the space retheme. The black truss support structure looks like a rocket launch tower; suiting the theme perfectly. Also, the white tin shed station and queue reminds me of Wonderland's Space Probe 7.

It'll be interesting to see how reliable the ride is after the relocation/refurb, and how it rides.

[Funfields - New 2020 Tornado Waterslide]

Visited the park this past weekend to get some pics of Supanova. As suspected, the slide will feature a "cropped Tornado 60", which makes the element more of a halfpipe than a full cone. Giving it a visual point of difference to all the other Tornado's in Australia.

The slide's colours really pop/contrast against the existing Gravity Wave waterslide and the rolling green fields at Funfields. Another exciting edition to a really beautiful park! See link for more construction pics:

Got to visit the park on Saturday 12/11/2022. Wow! Truly amazing to see rollercoasters of this scale finally being built in Victoria - it's been a long time coming. Construction is progressing very nicely, but still lots to be done before the Dec 23rd opening. The excitement from park goers was tangible, lots of people taking a look at construction.
