Hmmmm i donno if theyre the BEST. I love the game, and i'm happy with the fact that you guys think the main guy looks like me, but the baddies still look cartoonish to me. I like the gameplay tho. i'm better at it than battlefield. Im so frightened of dying in battlefield. You guys know. I trapse around for ages, and freak out if anything happens.
  2. Yeh, but by going on every martial arts film ever made, small and gracefully quick always wins. Only because us big people are normally depicted as bullies. Which sucks. I say if someone small is allowed to throw around their weight like that, who's the bully, really?
  3. Take it these rollercoaster types don't take to Tekken too kindly. Ah yes, grace vs. brutal power... our difference in opinion is one of total opposites in what we want out of our characters.
  4. Mine are: Started with Paul and Brian - a powerful tag team... I loved Paul's no crap nothing fancy ass beat down style of insuit judo and streetfighting, and his hair was cool. Brian is without a doubt a fave due to my love and rigourous efforts in kickboxing, so obviously to play the character that does the same style is simply stupendous. Then Tekken 4 rolled out, and in steps Steve... A boxer, not unlike myself, and - English. This character was the one for me, so now i'm very very compotent at ol' Stevey Boy Fox.
  5. Lachlan deserves it. He wrote the book on "Life Without Ethics: The How-to in Cheating Chumps". In fact it's number 17 on the New York Bestsellers List this week. Yeh I also agree graphics aren't everything. Raw on X Box graphically kicks the Smackdown! series but the interface and gameplay are of the terrible variety. Quett and Brett Newlands sold their X Box with Raw for Smackdown!4 on PS2.
  6. Um that dude was me. Be nice, it's called an opinion. I did my own comparison and in MY OPINION between 'No Mercy' on N64, and "Smackdown 2" for PSX, I believe that the chugginess of N64's effort severly detracted from the GAME. The graphics were smoother, but gameplay was chuggy and predictable because of how slow it was to compensate for being smoother. Read further down, dude. EDIT: This is a poll on the 3rd generation of games, possibly the 2nd for you youngers - PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube - Don't knitpick my post and read it fully before you sling mud in my eyes.
  7. Depends on wat cds. Music, I'd easily say 4 - 5. And didn't we play Smackdown at schoolies?
  8. I don't play any of these, and yet I play GoldenEye.. I'm not a shooter fan, but I play goldeneye. It's versatile, easy to pick up, and the matches with other ppl are simple in configuration, and suspence filled.
  9. Fair point. I still stand by my PS2, only because I like playing fighting games, and although Xbox and Gamecube are better consoles, PS2 is the ultimate console, with the perfect controller interface for wrestling and fighting games. Although I hear good things about the Wrestlemania series and 'Day of Reckoning' on Gamecube, yet I can't justify buying another platform when there's nothing wrong with the one I've got, and I really like the THQ produced Smackdown series. In reference to the amount of people that can play at any one time, the PS2 does have a mulitlink available, then again it does not come with the console. haha both me and Rod did. I got my Doc Marten 1460's and he has his Colorado hikers.
  10. ok brado, maybe so. But power is only one tiny part of the whole console - game selection is damn important, over all functionality and replay value of the whole console - the thing I believe puts PS2 above the rest - allows the console to specialize in a variety of platforms, while I believe that the Xbox owns the market in shooters, except PS2 has the Gcon, if you want to fork out the $50 for it. Gamecube, as I know you are a tremendous fan, is perhaps a superior console - but the games are still little kid games. Same as n64, this is what's killing the Gamecube - it could well be the superior console, but lacks credibility due to the choice of marketing archetypally Nintendo games, that are a bit cartoony and aimed at the preteen bracket. With this being said, Playstation 2 may lack the power, but it's the most versatile, and is therefore the favourite. PS EDIT: Why the hell aren't you at uni, you loser.
  11. now I'm afraid i'm going to have to be King to your JR and disagree with you there in a way.. I think in terms of speed and fluidity of the graphics, playstation wins. I own a n64, and it IS fun as hell, but i just think the 64 bit isn't as dynamic as the 32 bit of the playstation. Granted the graphics aren't as detailed, but let's take a specific example: N64's No Mercy vs. Playstation's Smackdown 2. I'm not sure how many of you guys have played either of these great games, but they differ a lot. Firstly, No Mercy has a totally different interface which suits the n64, as Smackdown 2 suits PSX. However, graphically, ps2 was superior, and was far more dynamic than the rather 'chuggy' No Mercy. N64's graphics are more detailed and a bit smoother, yet the gameplay makes it worse by moving in a 'blocky' way, so it impaired the graphics and made them look worse than they were as static. I think that's how it is, if anyone knows different please feel free to point out any poibles i've made. Although, you present an excellent point with memory cards. However, I know to play several n64 games I require a memory storage cartridge to go into the back of the controller, and also this little red and black box that goes into the console, infront of the game cartridge slot, all up costing $20 for the memory pack, and $40 for the red and black box that made gameplay much faster and smoother, back in the day of course. I used to get my memory cards for a sweet $10, so IN THEORY I agree with you totally, however in my case, I needed more additions to the console to allow me to play the games I wanted to play.
  12. I appreciate the adaptability of the PS2, the fact that in most games there is a 2 memory card option, the fact you can play psx games on it, use ps1 memory cards for ur psx games, that you can use your psx controllers, the many different interfacing extensions you can use, like a driving wheel, a G-Con pedal reload gun, and I whole heartedly agree that the controllers are perfect for any type of game platform: racing, fighting, rpg, real time strategy. They are perhaps the best example of adaptability. I could play Age of Empires 2 as easily as Marvel vs. Street Fighter, hypothetically speaking.
  13. PS2 without a doubt in my book. It's just a perfect console for fighting games, which happen to be my favourite. Especially the Smackdown! series. And Tekken and Street Fighter series. X-box I always have found clumsy for fighting games, and the PS2 gets most of the X-box games anyway. Gamecube I haven't played on yet, but I was a big fan of the ol' n64. I think Sony have snatched the market ever since 1995, with their experiment and the game called "Yoops", which to my recall was the 1st ps game. X-Box in my eyes was a failed venture. Everyone thought that they'd throw out their ps2's for the x-box. In fact, it was the other way round. Gamecube have taken Sega's old place, round about 1994 when it was Sega Vs. Nintendo, after all the Wonderboy stuff.
  14. well brado as i explained earlier, its a combination of wat was said earlier with legal implications, and also the simple reason that its sunnier here. acting as an external contributor to the factors that influence all business, the weather is one aspect that effects every businesses of this nature... however, altho no one can control the weather, u are able to conduct ur business and establish it at a place where it is more often than not favorable... Sth East Qld is sunny 95% of the time... small chances of bad days makes the park always a favorble destination... the hitman will never be replaced. long live bret hart.
