  1. i thought it was a good choice too, lol. considering, the motocoaster and the cyclone arent the greatest rollercoasters iv been on, and compared to the 3 at movieworld, it was easy to pick against dreamworld. althought ToT and the claw r great rides, all i been hearing is bad reports about this new q4u stuff at dreamworld. it sounds similar to disney's fast pass.
  2. Leaving for the gold coast tomorrow for about a week or too, and only going to 1 park, so decided to go to movieworld over dreamworld. I hoping this time of year now, the park isnt as busy? i was up there about a year ago, so i havent seen the new hollywood stunt show, can any1 tell me wat its like? better than police academy??(i doubt it! lol) thanks!
  3. I recently visited the Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea on the 21st to the 23rd of January this year for the 2nd time. I must say how much better these 2 parks are, to the Californian parks. Californian adventure is a great park, but the disneyland there is getting old now. Although the rides arent in english, the rides still have that disney feeling to them. Most of the shows are in english tho. Tokyo DisneySea has 3 great shows, a broadway show, a jungle one, and there water parade is amazing. You dont see this sorta stuff at the US parks. I dunt know if any of you's have seen jetstars prices to go to japan lately, but there peanuts. I honestly wouldnt bother going back to the Californian parks. I'd be happy to hear what you guys think, if u argue of what iv said, or if any1 has been to the Tokyo Disney parks. Cheers! JD
  4. After going on a few thrill rides while i was there, me and my bro decided to go on the reef diver. Honestly, it would b one of the best rides there. Seriously, ur strapped in with just a belt? and it nearly goes upside down, while going a good speed. Maybe its just me, but i quite injoyed the ride! Any thoughts on the reef diver? P.S: Sorry my mistake i meant Diver**
  5. i was there last friday. It was pretty packed. Couldnt even b bothered queing for surfrider or tornado it was that busy. But i suppose its busier in the holidays, cause i thought it wasnt holidays yet for them up there, cause i finished school on thw wednesday of last week, but the rest of syd finishes later, so i dunno if it was QLD holidays then or not? Any1 know?
  6. Has any1 got it? If they do, is it any good?
  7. Wow, thats pretty cool!! They would need a few lanes tho, it would b hell popular.
  8. Well, since i went to WnW, we decided not to go to WWW. Maybe next time lol. I see many ppl agree with the log and rapid ride improvement, but the rapids was still fun though.
  9. ye, we were only up there for the theme parks. Although there is so much more to do there. Would of been good to spread out the days, cause its tiring doing all these parks everyday. After walking around WnW, u start to feel it. lol.
  10. Last Thursday, i went to Movie World for the first time in about 6 years. All the coasters are sweet there, but does anyone have trouble with the spooky coaster breaking down. 3-4 times that day i was there, it was closed for computer troubles. I was queing up to go on it a 2nd time when it happened. It was ashame i couldnt go on it again, cause its such a sweet ride!!!! Any1 else find the ride closed when they were there?
  11. Nah, i got back to Sydney today. i saw WWW from waiting in the line on the cyclone, lol. It looked alright, although the slides i saw, they werent as big as WnW's slides. Have u been to it?
  12. Ye, u r probaly rite there. I wanted to c the Waterski wipeout show, which is a great show, but it would of delayed us at wet n wild. We still had a spare day up at the gold coast too. but spent it around the pool. But anyway. Got to go to DW And MW so that was enough for me! lol.
  13. Well, as u know from the other SW forum, i didnt particulary like SW, though the Corkscrew was a good ride. Movie World was awsume, Superman Escape blew me away!! That 0 to 100km in 2 seconds was unbelievable. I know it was made in such a small area, but the length of the ride could of been longer.Lethall Weapon was absolutly awsume!!! A great ride that one, also the Spooky Coaster was fantastic. MW's rollar coasters have gone to another level. I thought the batman spaceshot was alright, although i was disappointed with the batman adventure ride. lm not sure if u remember but when i was there last time, the ride was set in the streets of gotham and u went around in batmans car. i didnt really like the ride this time. Wild West Falls was pretty good. i really like those water rides. Police academy was good, but its starting to get abit old although its still very popular. Shrek 4D was great. i had seen it before in Japan Universal Studio's but i couldnt understand the language!! lol. The effects they are putting into shows now is unbelievable and its shown in Shrek 4D. Overall, MW has a great atmosphere with its rides based on movies and such, and although its for little kids, it has the characters like shrek and bugs bunny for kids to see, not like dreamworld which isnt based on anything like that. unlike the other parks, it was my first time to Wet n Wild, and i must say, its unbelievable!! I had a ball of a time there. But i never got to go on the surfrider or the tornado cause of the lines, but the size of the slides r huge! I loved the aqua racer. it was war between me and my bro on who would win! lol. i also loved the black hole. That was really good. Those 2 slides were my favourite. Id hate to see that place in the holidays cause it was packed when i was there, which was on friday.
  14. No i didnt, i did see the polar bears, some sharks, but me and my family arent really interested in that sorta stuff. It was probaly my own faulth cause i got the 3 park superpass. lol.
  15. As i said in the Dreamworld forum, i hadnt been to the parks at the gold coast for some time. Me and my family arrived at Seaworld 10 oclock. Not too many people there, and not too many rides either. The flume ride was abit of a shocker. More like a big waterslide track than anything. bermuda triangle was average. Good effects but i would of liked a bigger drop. Pirate ship was alright. If anyone remembers Wonderland Sydneys Pirate Ship, ud know how crap Seaworlds is. Then the rollar coaster was great but way too short. But what can you do. In the end, we knocked over seaworld in about 2 hours, seeing that Planet SOS 4D show. If i knew SW was lacking how it was, i would of forgot about the 3 park superpass. In the end we went to Wet and Wild as soon as we got out of SW. O well, Live and Learn!! Any thoughts on the rides at SW?
  16. Last time I had been to any of the theme parks at the Gold Coast was about 6 years ago. At the time, i was too young to go on any of the big rides(i was 10). So i really was excited about going back to the park. Tower of Terror and The Claw were the top rides in my opinion there. But i was disappointed in some of the rides there. The new ride Mick Doohans MotoCoaster, i thought could of been longer and the ride went very slow in the later part of it. i also found it very uncomfortble when sitting in the seats. I also thought, being such a "Thrill Park" that the rollar coaster would of been huge. I found the cyclone not very fast and not exciting. Although i had been on superman, lethal weapon, and corkscrew days before, maybe it didnt compare to these. The log ride and the rapid ride also lacked something. i thought a drop could of been put into the rapids, like the one in California adventure in USA, if anyone has been on it. The log ride seemed unexciting, nothing happens in the ride, no music or actions happen. the drop is the only thing people go on it for. Overall, Dreamworld is a top park, and i dont mean to whinge about these things, the rides were still good, but just those minor things. Just wondering what other peoples thoughts were on these 4 rides?
