    MW?

From where your tickets / passes are scanned allowing you entry, DF is approx. 20 metres straight ahead...  That same distance doesn't even get you to the arch at MW from the turnstiles.  So if we take it from the arch instead, the closest ride is Batwing Spaceshot at 40 metres, but it is not within the "courtyard" area of the roundabout and is instead off to the side.

Depends on how you classify it, but in it's later years, Wonderland's gates were moved beyond the retail plaza, and halfway up the hill into international village. While I can't seem to find a photo that shows it during operation, Bounty's Revenge was immediately inside the gates and impossible to miss if it were operating as you entered.

Sure, it's a little further back, but there really wasn't anything else in front of you except this giant swinging ship.

There is still an open empty area and even some sort of storefront.  As I replied above, DF will be within 20 metres of the entrance...  Less than the distance between two street poles.

As a comparison, the closest edge of Ballroom Blitz at Aussie World version is the same distance to the centre of Bug Run...  Just on the other side of a path...

All this roof trussing and block wall looks pretty high up - seems like there'll be a great view for riders, but main street is losing a lot of it's openness and sightlines by all these structures. #sadface

While it might look good and I am happy to be wrong if that is the case, walking in the entry straight at a ride feels like it is losing a bit more of the feel.  Getting a photo with the globe and then planning your next moves was great in this area because it was quiet aside from other people doing the same.  Off the top of my head I can't think of any other park I have been to that has a ride as soon as you enter.

  4. So we have 3 in house mazes.  Wonder what happened to end up without a real headliner this year.  Don't get me wrong the mazes look interesting, but none that really stand out as if you could only do one maze which would it be.  Especially considering the price hike 😕

  5. My curiosity now though with Circursed and DCeased announced, we have 1 in house and 1 IP maze (2 of each including returning mazes).  DCeased was the main maze teased in the original release, so do people think we will get another in house or IP maze?

Both 2019 and 2021 had 3 IP and 2 in house so I would think they might continue this trend, but now that we have no clues until the next teaser, what could it be or what are you hoping for?

  6. Has anyone heard anything about the Leviathan quest that was supposed to be happening in August?  Son was really looking forward to working towards it but nothing was ever released about it 😕

Seems they are not really making any use on them so far since release

  7. DCeased is a six-issue comic book miniseries published by DC Comics from May to October 2019. It was created by writer Tom Taylor and the artistic team including penciler Trevor Hairsine and inker Stefano Guadiano. The story takes place in an alternate Earth, where a corrupted version of the Anti-Life Equation has infected most of Earth's inhabitants with a zombie-like virus. Lois Lane acts as the series' narrator, detailing how the events took place over the course of a few weeks.

Whatever the plan is, I hope that the next time it's SW's turn for development they plan something fully fleshed out for the area (ala Atlantis) and don't just bulldoze a flat pad wherever it fits for an off the shelf flat...

There were some big plans for the area 5 - 6 years ago but they seem to have gone the way of Wild, Ironclad and Dusty...

That's hardly "easily more than...." 5500 people in park "...most days " in fact it sounds entirely average.

If you read the comment as a whole:

I know that Boxing Day (even 20 years ago) was getting more than 10,000 in park.  Weekly attendance (outside holiday periods) fluctuated between 4,000 and 6,000.

i.e. Weekly attendance 20 years ago was between 4,000 and 6,000.  I don't know the figures these days but given the parks are busier now than then, one could infer that means more people than that now?

Fluctuated is the past tense of fluctuates which is the current tense.  The more you know :D

I've previously worked across both MW and WnW and during the summer of 2015-2016 we had a day at WnW with over 16,000 and were still happy to let more in.

I'd dispute "most days" but I do believe the park capacity is more than double the 5k figure

Working in Guest Services over Christmas period at one stage I know we had more than 14,000 in park.  I know that Boxing Day (even 20 years ago) was getting more than 10,000 in park.  Weekly attendance (outside holiday periods) fluctuated between 4,000 and 6,000.

I think its more if you want to see more of the shows, have time to eat, or just not physically stand in a crowded line.
People may want to do rides since riding at night is a different experience.

And of course attendance is not uniform, some nights will be busier.

Absolutely agree with you Gazza.  I have yet to see the mention of any live music or shows at this time however, which I really hope is present as I love standing around listening to / watching them.  They were incorporated into a precinct or two in previous years but so far nothing mentioned :(

  11. But at 50,000 over 9 nights you are looking at approx 5,500 a night...  There are easily more than that number of people on most days.

If that is the case then Fast Tracks are pretty pointless.

They put through between 12 and 20 people each maze group (round to 15 for maths), over 5 hours and a group being admitted every, lets say 60 seconds to be generous, you are looking at a throughput per maze of around 4500 people per night.  Remembering not everyone wants to do every maze, some don't do mazes at all.

So it is pretty close for people to be able to do all mazes within the night without having a Fast Pass...

Personally I have never seen the point in rides at FN as they can be done at any other attendance to the park, and certainly see no point paying to skip the queue on them.

Keep in mind the figures I have used are not exact but based on previous years.  They also send larger groups more frequently than I have used so the final throughput could be a fair bit higher (groups of 15 sent every 45 seconds would allow 6,000 people per maze per night)
