I saw this chicks picture on Facebook on Friday of Wipeout and it had test dummies in the seats and there was water in the pool filled about nearly half way up.

Nothing is going well for poor Wipeout. Was opening 30th June, then early July and its nearly August haha

Awesome!! Was the locking mechanism working all good now? And i hope they have no bolts falling off this time haha

Might be evaluating or something so the water does not flood onto the pathway haha When I was there 2 weeks ago they were testing it but having problems with the locking mechanism, however they might of fixed that now, they might do some more testing today. So is there just 1 person working on it or something?

I agree with themagician, they might be doing last minute touchups and final checks and they'll open it later today. If not tomorrow or Monday.

^^ Makes sense. Also Dreamworld have said repeatedly on Facebook they will post information when it opens back up.

Could you take some pictures and post them for us tomorrow? Or if it is running a video would be even better.

I was told by a few senior engineers it was due to corrosion, which makes sense to me.

Since i uploaded those 6 testing videos I expect a few good pictures and videos of it you guys when it opens It sucks living away from the theme parks and when you are in year 12 you really can not get there out of school holidays. The opening is so close now, enjoy the opening day when it happens everyone Dreamworld said to me on Facebook they will, the staff at Dreamworld two weeks ago said they are after months of changing their minds and a few photos back from around a month ago they were waterproofing the pool.

They will have it in the usual program, a better one or a new one when it opens. No way they would have it opening with that, they only ever use that one to test it or when a part of the ride is not performing properly.

The water was coming from the new pipes that have been installed, I have circled them in red in the picture. I will try to upload the videos tonight or tomorrow from July 11th, they had it going in all programs even program 1 plus the new program unless I have never seen it before, and yes I filmed them all. They were having problems with the locking mechanism as well at the time and during the new program a bolt or screw came off as it did a backflip...

Early 2000's. This photo here was taken in 2004 just after The Claw launched. They have just photoshopped it to show the new Wipeout surfboards, the new Laser Tag and that is pretty much it.

You guys do realise it is just an old photo modified to the new Wipeout surfboards and the new laser tag from 2004? Drop zone was there back then which is why you can see it in the photo. I will try to tomorrow, I have been busy sorry.

Some photos of Wipeout today. I'll try to upload some testing videos to Youtube as well soon. They were also putting down fake grass near the surfboards and operator control room. They have also painted the counterweights today.

I was talking to the lady running the Havana shoe place thing in front of Wipeout and she said something about the new ride if you push to one side or press down or something it makes you go higher? I think thats what she said.

Oh I've got about 10 haha, i was just walking past these business people and they were talking about it and the head guy was saying, it will give the ride another 10 years of life and new exciting features.

Sure are, they are playing around with the locking mechanism at the moment, other than that it is all going well. Was meant to open today I was told, however they need to play around with the ride, it has to be tested at least 20 times I was told and they are waiting on a fence, 1 week to wait for it haha

At Dreamworld right now, Wipeout is currently being tested in all the old and new ride programs, got at least 5 engineers and people from outside the park in the control booth playing around with everything, it is going good.
