  1. Yeah I did get confused with what you we're saying. But after read what othe friends have said Sam is more correct than I was.

But anyway I have a few more videos to upload including fire dancers, silk acrobats, the opening moment and some more other videos. Also I will be posting pictures and reviews.

  2. No way in hell those floats are side by side around the fountain. It'd be a close shave down main street - which is a "two lane" road, as opposed to a 'single lane' roundabout. If you've got some footage, i'd like to see it. ;)

I will have a look for it now. I wasn't able to see it my self due to being up in main street but after talking to more people a few of which are involved in the parade have told me that they do indeed go side by side around the fountain.

  3. I have to say - based on the video alone (good job by the way) I thought the parade was fantastic - but I can't help but think that guests would have been happy with half of that, with more money spent on experiences (just my own opinion).

I love that effort was made to place strip lighting on the ford utes, and the green+purple checker scheme looks great (under the movers, the light makes different parts of the checkers look like they change colour which is a nice effect), but at the same time - random utes (not towing floats) just seemed out of place (although i'm sure they've been sponsored, it doesn't appear to have any sponsorship decals on them).

Last question - how the hell to they achieve a turnaround? Whenever i've been to a parade, i've always been up near daily planet. The fountain is obviously a great turning circle - but i'm stumped how some of these elaborate floats can pass each other (because it doesn't seem like they could all enter the turning circle before some have begun the journey back)...

I'd like to see footage of THAT.

From what I have been told by one my Camera Guys they have to have two rows of floats next to each other around the fountain. I think i actually have some raw footage that i can upload if you like

  4. I was right up on the left corner facing the screen, but others with me were scattered around.

The Parade video is going to take quite a while to export and upload due to it having many cameras and going for about 30mins in length so i will start to upload some more videos starting with the Blues Brothers Band.

  5. Maybe I should quickly start my own facebook page for themeparks so I can get some photos while it's empty on media day :P

    HAHAHA

If you've got a dslr, I don't care how noisy it comes up but see if you can up the ISO a bit and get some clear shots so we can actually see what's on there please.

Yeah I will be taking my DSLR down with a few lenses just to get a few pics. I will get closeups of the parts we are in doubt about like Superman's Tophat and stuff.

  6. Why do you say they are identical to Speedy Cars? Have you seen them?

And the buildings look higher than 2m to me in that photo...

So if the ride has a mini mini movie world in it, does that mini movie world ride have a mini mini mini movie world in it and then a mini mini mini mini movie world inside it?

When I mean Identical I meant in the way they work and everything. They do look quite similar but they are larger. Yes I have seen them in person and also in a few pictures. Also its kinda hard to tell but yeah when I think about it they are taller than 2 metres, probably closer to 3

  7. To the people who have been to MW and had a look at this, how big are those buildings. From the photos they don't look much taller than 2 metres. Any ideas?

The buildings are about 2 or so metres high.

How do the cars work? Are they self controlled like dodgems? Will they be on a fixed track like vintage cars? Or magnetic like Big Red Car?

They are identical to the Speedy Taxi Cars.

  8. Yeah I've got a feeling these daytime shows aren't involving any of the hired gear, and are more of a 'dress rehearsal' for them to get things right. Naturally when the hire gear arrives (if they're using any), they'll then set that up and continue running the day show to get the kinks in that sorted out.

No matter what the system and who the tech, theres always a kink to work on... nothing ever works right first time without preparation.

Yeah exactly. They will most likely be getting hire gear in for the bands as they don't have much if any of the gear you need to mic a band. They will most likely be getting more lights and lasers for their "Dazzling Light Show"

  9. In that case it seems it is not the vocalists fault, and if MW wants to put on world class events they should upgrade their AV to a level fitting just that.

Generally Movie World hire all the gear they need for their nighttime events and are kinda limited in what they have on site. They most likely wont hire anything till the day of the first night of the event.

  10. I my self work in the AV Industry. There was quite a few screw ups audio wise yesterday including Austin's mic not working. ( He now leads the parade ). I think the main thing that has thrown the singer off was the backing track could not be herd at first so when it came on she was out of time. Movie World don't use Inner ears or fold backs for everyday performances so it is hard to hear your self sing it is even worse due to all the speakers pointing at the back of your head so that makes it quite hard to sing and keep in time.
