Perhaps just use the spoiler tag to describe the experience?

Well looks like i'll stop being so tight-lipped and give into peer pressure :D

Once the VR headset is all strap in and calibrated, you'll find yourself sitting in what seems to be an operating chair within the "Intensive Scare Unit" of Arkham Asylum. Once the ride is dispatched, the Joker makes an appearance before hitting you with a gas mask filled with classic "Joker Gas". Suddenly, your chair starts to float through the broken floor of the Asylum, where each individual level is the broken cell of numerous villains. Once you reach the rooftop, you'll be on what appears to be the top of a skyscraper in Gotham City. Right as the ride is about to drop, the Joker grabs your chair and throws you off the rooftop. You'll dodge a giant Killer Croc before entering the sea serpent roll, where you'll fly through a swarm of bats. Right before you hit the sidewinder, you'll come face to face with one of Poison Ivy's giant Venus Flytraps which snaps and snarls at you as you escape from it's clutches. As you go through the inline twists, you'll be dodging many of Ivy's notorious flora before Mr Freeze sends you into the last turn on an "ice slide". This slide continues around the final helix before you eventually smash into a wall leading back to the "Intensive Scare Unit", signifying the break run of the ride. As you taxi back to the station, you'll see a fight scene before Batman carries the Joker out of view.

Overall it's a really great experience. In terms of storyline, it reminds me a lot of the Amazing Spiderman rides at Universal mixed with the surreal nature of the Scarecrow level in the original Arkham Asylum game. Graphics are comparable to the original Bioshock game IMO.

Maybe my opinion might be a little biased considering this way my first VR coaster ever, but it was an absolute blast. I felt like I was in sensory overload for the next hour or so.

  2. I've been lucky enough to go down the rabbit hole that is VR on AA a couple of times now, and it really is a great ride. I'm going to try and not spoil the experience, but it is quite comfortable and easy to set-up. The visuals are also quite a nice treat as well.

Would I ride it again? For $5 I'll probably be looking at riding this at least once a trip. I'm starting to fall into a mad love with VR and I find this to fix almost all my issues that I originally had with Arkham Asylum's distinct lack of themeing.

Congrats to all the team that put effort into this experience. I'm sure most people will be more than satisfied with the ride.

just found this on Instagram, could Appariations (the winner of the horror movie contest last year) be a precinct for this year?IMG_0098.PNG

It was mentioned last year that the winners of the film festival will have their short film featured as either a maze or a precinct. Given that all four mazes have been announced, I thinks it's safe to say that I'll be a precinct.

So how intense is the ride, on a scale of 1 to vomitron?

It's not that intense or nauseating IMO. Comparable to the Wipeout and maybe a little bit less than the Claw.

The problem that a lot of us faced yesterday was that we didn't just ride it once and call it a day; we had up to 7 or 8 rides in a row. After about 3 or 4 cycles, a lot of us started to feel ill.

    A Fright Nights though?

A "Fright Fest" to be exact...

    Wet’n’Wild Sydney’s Fright Fest.

In an all new and completely terrifying event Wet’n’Wild Sydney transforms into a world of horror and fear this October as the park hosts our very first Fright Fest. Get your costumes on and your scared faces ready for a Halloween event that will have you screaming for more. With two Haunted Houses, three Panic Rooms, a cast of devilish and ghastly creatures plus all your favourite Food Trucks this limited capacity event will scare you like nothing you have ever experienced before.

Fright Fest will operate from 7.00pm – 11.00pm from Thursday 27 October – Monday 31 October. Admission for Fright Fest will be a separate ticketed event and an entry cost will apply. Special pricing will be available for Premium and Ultimate Season Membership holders. Rides, slides and pools will not operate

  6. Everyone has really said all that's needed to be said about the Star Tour. It was an absolutely amazing experience that I'm probably never to going to forget. It's up there with my first trip to Disneyland as one of the best times I've ever had at a theme park. Congrats to Greg and all the team that put their time and effort into the day. It was truely special, and everyone should be extremely happy with the product that they have produced.

  7. It's so odd looking at the concept art. I know it's a new ride with a new story and setting, but all I can see is the Hollywood Tower Hotel staring right back at me.

It'll be interesting to see what changes are made, but I can't say I'm enthused. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is one of the newest classic rides at the Disney Parks, so it saddens me to see one of them go away. Disney spent years to try and make DCA seem cohesive, but now it seems like that's going to all go out the window.

The idea works in theory. The cost however could be another thing. Do they pay actors to work the whole night and keep everyone up?

The campout/sleepout was the idea of scare actors being out all night, scaring guests in and around a campsite (whether at Paradise Country or not). That would be a logistical nightmare in my opinion. People do have to sleep at some point, plus it would be a pain to get staff to work the graveyard shift...

What I meant was the idea of seeing a package deal between Paradise Country and Fright Nights. Bundling accommodation and event tickets before marketing it off as something Fright Nights related (in most cases it would probably be Friday the 13th).

If you look at the most recent superman movies the costume looks so much more detailed that this cloth.

These costumes aren't based on the films; they're based off of DC Comics new 52 Universe. 50ce9a8823529b9c2ff46036ec7a6308.jpgJim_Lee_Superman.jpg

While it may not be as detailed as the costumes found in the DC Film universe, it certainly looks impressively close to the source material.

  10. Sent a email a day ago to Aussie World asking about the Wild Mouse, and this was their response

    Hi Zanstabar,

Thank you for your email regarding the Wild Mouse Roller Coaster.  At this current stage the ride is under a required maintenance schedule.  At this point in time we are unsure of when it will return to normal operation.

    Thanks again for your enquiry.

Maybe the future for the mouse isn't too bright?

MW has a new application in for “Eco Tents”.  We all know what this is for but my question is -  What is an Eco Tent?  How is an Eco Tent different to an ordinary tent?

From what I've seen, Eco Tents seem to be a more permanent accommodation option while also having the experience of traditional camping (i.e glamping).

Think a demountable cabin but rather than being made of more conventional materials, it would be made out of a typical tent mesh with a steel support frame underneath.

I'm not the best at explaining things, but hopefully this makes it a bit easier to comprehend
