I do also wonder what will happen with some of the LEDs inevitably break and whether they'll just switch it off and call it a day, or install static white LEDs as replacements, though I do want them to maintain it in its 'premiere' state of course.

Similar to the Jokers face with missing teeth...

Warner Bros. Movie World Unveils "Wonka's Chocolate Factory Adventure" Dark Ride

Warner Bros. Movie World is excited to announce the upcoming debut of "Wonka's Chocolate Factory Adventure," a world-class indoor river boat ride that will replace the Junior Driving School. Created by Intamin, world leaders in safety for water rides, this immersive experience will take guests on a magical journey through the enchanting world of Willy Wonka.

Set to close in late 2024, the Junior Driving School will make way for the construction of "Wonka's Chocolate Factory Adventure," with work scheduled to begin in January 2025. The ride is expected to open in late 2025 and promises to be the most immersive and exciting ride ever built at Warner Bros. Movie World.

"We are thrilled to partner with Intamin to bring 'Wonka's Chocolate Factory Adventure' to life," said Bikash Randhawa, Chief Operating Officer of Village Roadshow Theme Parks. "Intamin's reputation for safety and innovation makes them the perfect choice for creating this one-of-a-kind experience. Guests can expect to be completely immersed in the world of Willy Wonka, with surprises and delights around every corner. This will truly be the sweetest ride ever built!"

In addition to "Wonka's Chocolate Factory Adventure," Warner Bros. Movie World is also preparing to unveil The Flash Speed Force coaster, The Wizard of Oz, and the refurbished Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster in the coming years. These new attractions are part of the park's ongoing commitment to delivering world-class entertainment and immersive experiences.

As part of the expansion plans, Warner Bros. Movie World will bid farewell to the Doomsday Destroyer ride, with details of its replacement to be announced in the near future. "Watch this space!"

Stay tuned for more updates as Warner Bros. Movie World continues to bring the magic of the movies to life!

I'd prefer to see a Mondial Avalanche (It's a visually more impressive ride, however tame) alongside a wooden or hybrid coaster - possibly a GG or RMC.  I'd put them behind ST in the Blue Lagoon area

Would a Mondial Avalanche be seen as too similar to the Claw and not worth while investment when there are so many other flat rides out there? I know its very different but with a park with a limited amount of flat rides be seen as too similar?

  4. With Dreamworld opening dreamland and River town under construction, It couldn't hurt to start guessing what will come next when they come to invest in the next major CAPEX projects. Below is some ideas I had for what I think could help the parks lineup moving forward.

    Stage 2 River town: - 2025

    • MDMC rethemed with new spinning trains to make it more comfortable and to suit the theme of river town.
    • The paddle Wheeler re opens (Super wishful thinking, with the park focusing on going back under that nostalgia route you never know)

Then I believe a log flume or Chute the Chutes in the back half of Ocean Parade with a Mack Twist N Splash attraction to fix and bring life to the back half of ocean parade. (This would take up the old trolls and Flow rider land). The Mack Twist N Splash could even go in Wipeouts spot if required, if not needed a flat ride could go there in 2027. - 2026

Following this the park would need another major thrilling flat ride (Maybe a Mondial Ventura). Either in Wipeout's plot, Buzzsaw's plot, or even closer to the old log flume plot. -2027

Large thrilling roller coaster - 2028

Curious what people think or predict might come next?

  5. So Ardent Leisure Group has rebranded to Coast Entertainment Holdings (CEH)

See snippet from their ASX update to investors:

    Quote

Ardent Leisure Group (ALG) Re-Brands to Coast Entertainment Holdings (CEH)  Ardent Leisure Group Limited (ASX:ALG) wishes to inform the market that from Monday 18 December 2023 it will begin trading as Coast Entertainment Holdings Limited (ASX:CEH), the new name approved by a special resolution of shareholders at its recent AGM.  This is a name change only and there is no change to the ownership, structure or operations of the group or the Dreamworld, Whitewater World or SkyPoint businesses.

If they are really doing good, you COULD run the night markets but require guests to have a Happy Halloween ticket (in the form of a wristband) to leave the Central plaza area? Feel like you'd need like 4 points with temporary barriers with a couple of staff at each to police it, plus one staff out the front of ST checking for wristbands to ride?

    Am I over simplifying it?

While different being summer period and the parks open during the day? What about night market at WWW when Dreamworld has night events? Set up around the wave pool? Just a thought?

You have got to be kidding me!

How can anyone running the joint at DW be ok with this??

Its a requirement for the site to be clearly labeled as a construction site and for builders signage to be put up. Even Steel Tipain i had signage from Mack rides and the builders.

Looks like it gets worse - right now guests are greeted with a giant black wall. No doubt they’ll be a wrap on those walls eventually but I personally would’ve moved heaven and hell to make sure where the globe was situated (at the minimum) had a wrap put on the second the wall went up. One day of trade with black walls as your first impression is one day too many.

I disagree, I see the fact they have gone the effort of building a proper construction wall rather than cheap nasty temp fencing. So while it will take a tad longer to finish the impression from a guest will be much better than temp fence with rent as fence logos on it.

Re globe, its been put there for now, who knows if its just waiting to be moved elsewhere and just a temp spot.

Apparently yesterday was the last day for the Soaring Swing and it will be getting removed. The ride has also been taken off the website.

That would mean construction on the new kids coaster will most likely start soon. Jags Journey said the Candy swing is now staying and the rock n tug ride will be moving into the land along with the ABC Ferris wheel. There's lots of space for the small rides. Room closer to Serpent Slayer and some close to the parents centre.

I wonder if this means we could see the new Big Red plans ride open within a few weeks with the Candy flyer closing for maintenance in June.

Question is what park might buy the Soaring Swing?

  10. My thoughts on a Replacement or a flat ride that would do really well at the park is a Gerlsaur Sky roller, In 20 years Rampage hasn't even hit 1 million rides. Its a very unpopular ride cos its just so intense. Something like a sky roller that can be intense or gentle will be perfect for thrill seekers and families in my Opinion.

  11. Not gonna lie I personally don't see the hype in this IP, I have never seen the film and most people my age haven't either in my friendship circle. I recon a family land to willy Wonka would have been so much better. I suppose they have a giant show building (LTRR) that could always get a willy Wonka ride boat ride down the track when driving school goes....

In my opinion a Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory dark ride (boat or trackless) would be the world most iconic family ride!

has everything to do with old management not new.

the Dreamworks brand was only a licence for 10 years, if it’s bringing in no new crowds and there is better use for that money to uphold the licence then why waste the money.

How do we even know Universal even offered a renewal contract? Since Universal is building mini Dreamworks parks now. I wonder if Universal flat out refused to renew the contract or asked a stupid amount to basically force their hands?

Also Steel Taipan wasn't just a time slot the ride was already in production. The park made changes to include the spike etc. But it could have been brought by any parks. Dreamworld management worked hard to secure it and make it fit into that spot.

  13. Having ridden Big Dipper last night, something must be seriously wrong with it at the moment. That was the most rattly roughest coaster I have ever ridden. From off ride you can see the train literally shaking. The launch and layout are fun but there is something seriously wrong with the train cos that was horrible. Couldn't re ride it. Abyss, Arkham and gold coaster are like butter in comparison.

  14. To add to the above the more reading I have done into it the more interesting it is. It has been stated on the website 2 new rides are coming to the area along with relocated and rethemed rides.

Looking at the images posted I wonder if the Big Red Plane ride is not a re-theme but rather a new version. See planes having back rows

In terms of relocated rides the only ride I would want to see relocated from ABC kids would be the Ferris wheel or the Rock n Tug. The Tea cups ride is a sad carnival model. IMO. If the donkey flyers is not the new ride I would love to see the second new ride being a proper sized quality tea cups ride. But seeing a new coaster coming makes me wonder how this will fit into the space. Will we see the land take over TOT station? Or will that leave not much space for the Rivertown land? Will we see some existing rides meet the scrapyard? I guess time will tell.
