Just a quick update and some interesting info- Mystery Manor will close permanently at Luna Park 3rd of November. The appeal and popularity of this attraction surprised even Luna Park- this was meant to be a temporary Halloween walkthrough attraction , however, it proved so popular that it has stayed open for close to 4 years now. The quality of the theming, the excellent actors all made this in house attraction a winner. Now that its closing for good, it certainly augers well for a new attraction to take its place. Given its location at the back of Maloney's Corner, it occupies a fair bit of real estate that could be used for a substantial attraction. ( hint hint Maurer Sohne Spinning Coaster) Given the success of Volare, its time for LPS to once again move forward with their $25 million ride reinvestment plans. Here's hoping that this is the first signs of that coming to fruition. Fingers crossed!

I’m not sure if sure if Luna park have approval to build any new permanent rides in that section of the Park, as flying Carousel was meant to go there but they never got approved to build in said location. Whether that has changed recently I don’t know.

  2. I went last night and cause we went on Arkham asylum first, ride finished at 6.15pm we failed to complete all mazes only got 3 mazes done. Went straight from Arkham waited 1hr 15 mins to get into it then took an hr for doll Haus time that was done it was 9pm lucky we were able to get to zombie land before everything else was closed. This was first year that my group had failed to get all mazes done, when every year we have always done 1 ride first and still got all mazes completed. Far too many people let In last night, And yes very limited amount of characters walking around the place

I was hoping to go Friday night and missed the boat - anyone know if they sometimes add extra tickets or if you have more luck buying in park?

No chance for tickets at the gates for fright nights bet luck is someone selling tickets that can’t attend

  4. This is fantastic new for dreamworld, a new roller coaster and sky voyager is maybe days from opening, now that government approval has been given to finally open.

This is hopefully the start to get the crowds back thru the gates and confidence, trust from the public will return if they do the right thing from now on in terms with  maintenance and staff training

Roadrunner has plenty of life in it yet. Whats the reason for removing it? If we are honest, its probably the best attraction in the kids section. Its a no from me.

The last year the ride is alittle rough (last ride 3 months ago) and it has a low capacity since they rarely use two trains if they even use the second train these days.

Just realised the Tot2 store has been removed from the list of shopping outlets on the park map. It was still on the most previous version.

Movie world did the same with superman, maybe with Scooby doo. Saving money as not many people buy Souvenirs just after riding a ride

Are you between the ages of 4-10 or do you have children in that age group? If the answer is no, then DW probably don’t care what you think about how it looks... (nor should they)

?? So your brilliant idea is that the area DW has publicly announced is closing multiple times, is staying and just hanging around until April 2020 to be re-opened to coincide with the sequel release? And that is part of their master plan? Right.

Well do you really see dreamworld spending the money to build something different, this is a area for the little kids, dreamworld need to replace there ageing rides (tower of terror, hot wheels, wipeout area)

I'd say @Rabbit2014 isn't aware it is a funicular style setup.

There are two carriages (lifts) on each end of one cable. Removes the need for a counter weight as the empty carriage replaces it.

One lift is guided by a track on one side, the other by the track on the opposite side, creating the tilting effect as each carriage passes the other.

Ok even know I have ridden it a few times that was first time I got the other lift now I know.

    Superman opened lunch time.

also the Wild West falls didn’t get a photo but a few boats have paint missing on back of boat like its rotting away shame that they didnt give the boats a clean up during there maintance period

  9. I went on Scooby doo coaster again today most video screens working but the lift has been changed since Wednesday instead of tvs on lift being on front and left they are now front and right but video played the animation before lift started moving don’t know why they changed side of tv screens.

Superman hasn’t open today as they are having technical problems at the moment will post if it does open

  10. Have been on superman and Wild West today after there  maintenance superman running well water effect on stairs section still not working. Wild West looks great but when you get to back of ride all water sprouts where you turn around not working all the wire and cables have been pulled out just sitting there will get a photo also the sign that changes when grave comes up is broken and photos not working at the moment.

Scooby doo ride all video screen before lift either frozen or not working, also too bright throughout  especially where the axes swing. Disco room no lasers, video at end of ride working. Scooby shop closed so no photos on that.

  11. Well I expect sky voyager will likely now open Boxing Day 2019 which should be around same time for SeaWorld first new ride to open. Gives dreamworld 7 months to get everything in order under new rules and regulations.

In the mean time hopefully dreamworld will use this time to announce there new ride/s for 2020/21, if they are going to build any new attractions.

Whilst nothing to do with Sky Voyager, this is a  loosely related question.

Given that Dreamworld are having issues getting the certification rights to opening Sky Voyager and the new tighter safety laws in the wake of the TRR tragedy, I wonder if this issue is also affecting the opening of Aussie World's new 360 degree swinging pendulum ride, the SX360?

This was supposed to open before Easter but the website still advertises it as coming soon. There have been social media reports of some people having got to ride it in some sort of soft opening , but since then, the park and news of the ride has gone very quiet. Has anyone else heard anything to the contrary or have updated news?

Sx360 was finished construction before Christmas 2018 and just like sky voyager hasn’t opened, haven’t seen or heard any testing for the ride. I have called and emailed aussie world for months and they have no answers so I guess the new laws are having huge effect on getting new rides open to the public

  13. This is fantastic news for sea world, three great rides a new wipeout at SeaWorld shame on dreamworld for replacing theirs with shade and seating 🙄. A full theme park model of the sky flyer and australia’s First Wooden roller build since wonderland Sydney the beast and beastie. And movie world bring Tom and jerry to the park as characters and studio showcase.

Great news for all except dreamworld they will need to have some big announcement on rides if they will continue to compete for there future.
