Would have to have been after you went Friday night and before now...  There has only been one FN in that period so it must have been before Saturday night...

Yeah, when I went on Saturday it was a dummy, looked so dodgy, didn't make a sound/move etc, I was just looking at it like "wtf i that supposed to be" lol.

  2. Alright, here is my review for Fright Nights 2016 (for anyone who hasn't gone yet)

Also, I'm not going to be mentioning the precincts as they have already been spoken about and aren't really too interesting compared to the mazes TBH.

Keep in mind, these are all MY opinions.

I got to MW at about 4:00 and went straight on the Superman ride and picked up my maze Fast Track pass, we got to the front of the opening show which was awesome, I definitely prefer it over last year's, although that one was awesome aswell.

After a massive stampede of people tripping over around my friend and I while the staff were trying to stop everybody from dying we finally managed to get to:

    The Conjuring 2 Maze:

The first time going through this maze, I'll be honest, I was extremely underwhelmed, and being a massive fan of the event and movie, I actually felt really sad and begun to lose hope as people were saying that FDTD isn't that great either. I didn't even see an actor until the swingset area. We did go back into this maze a second time later on and I can tell you it was a million times better, it was filled with actors and I got scared multiple times, especially with the very last scare, that was really well done. 9/10

    From Dusk Til Dawn Maze:

I went into this maze after my first run of TC2 feeling down about it being pretty boring, but when I got into FDTD, I instantly felt better, with the music playing, the water spraying, the actors and the perfect scare opportunities I can honestly say I enjoyed this maze the most. I ended up going in this maze 3 times and believe it or not, it got better each time. Shoutout to the dude who kept jumping on top of the table and doing flips n s**t. 9.5/10

    Wyrmwood Maze:

After finishing FDTD, my friend and I decided to enter Wyrmwood as they are right next to each other, we had both been in last year and expected nothing below brilliant... That isn't really how it turned out. I feel like they actually butchered this maze down to the point where it was almost boring, even with me being right at the very front of this one, it was nowhere near as good as it was last year IMO. The actors seemed unenthusiastic and everything was placed oddly, whereas last year I feel like everything was near perfect. I like how the truck seen with the dancing dude was much bigger this time around, but I don't see why they decided not to include any zombies in that room this year(???). It was still a good maze but with a big downfall from it's first run. 7/10

    Friday The 13th Maze:

Finally, we entered the F13 maze. Our first run was really, really bad, so I don't think I'll even count it into this review, two of the lines collided leaving Jason stuck in the corner of the tunnel staring down people, and honestly, it was almost awkward; that was for a good few minutes aswell, I don't know what stopped the line from moving for so long. Our second run was much better, but as mentioned before, I don't see why they made the lake look so "trashy" this year, seeing as last year, it felt like you were actually walking along a bridge above water. The tunnel was much smaller and more cramped this year, with not many scares throughout the maze, again, it depends on the run you're going through, which we can't really help. 6/10

After going in all of the mazes 2 times each, with FDTD having a third run, it was time for the closing show. I really enjoyed the show despite it not making much sense for a horror event. Also, as said before, I feel like they are trying to appeal to a younger audience with the whole "Selfie" thing, that was a bit weird to watch, but overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and the experience.

I really, really enjoyed this year's Fright Nights, and I'll be back again this Saturday for my birthday and the UTT, can't wait to see you guys there! :)

When nightclubs just aren't enough thrill....

My friend and I were watching that guy, I swear he was on something, he was doing what he was doing in this video for a legitimate 15 minutes straight. o_o

If you haven't seen it, or you wanted to see it again, here's the whole Fright Nights finale.

Were you the Asian guy on the Terror Tour using the GoPro strap on your hand? :P

Through the fast track queue...  Walk past anyone else in th eline, show your UTT pass to the attendant and tell them you want to go into the Terror Room...

Except with C2 is it on the left as you walk in the queue...

So I literally just walk past any other guests in the fast track queue? o_o What if someone gets mad?

@MaxxTheMonster have you seen the vid I uploaded to my blog from the closing performance? Not sure what the track is, but at least there's another one there to identify and add to the list ??

Sorry it's glitchy btw, I had a mere 4% battery power on my phone whilst I was recording it, was down to 1% by the time I finished. So it seemed to have affected the quality ?

The song in that video is "Selfie - The Chainsmokers", as already mentioned, thanks for the video!

Ah, that looks like the end of the night when all the lights go on to signal the GTFO portion of the evening.

Oh okay, thank god, whelp, I essentially have nothing to worry about now, hype scale is 10/10 for me! :)

Btw, can anyone please give me some confirmation that Leatherface is walking around again this year? Seriously want another picture with him.

I wouldn't say the lighting was awful at all. For a fright night event, I thought it was good.

My only issue with is was the photography aspect. Having too much of one colour, in this case purple/blue makes it hard to get decent photos, but on the flip side, it seems to work best for the ambience of the night.

Were the White Christmas fairy lights on at all times? If not, I think I'm perfectly fine with the lighting, the fair lights are my main problem.

  8. Just wanna emphasize again, the lighting really was the worst part of Fright Nights for me last year, and although I'm not going until Saturday, I think it'll be the same case this year sadly. :(

So corny, unprofessional and stupid. Can barely even watch that cringe fest. Really takes away from the whole eerie aesthetic that they should be going for. Clearly they are trying to impress the younger generation but common, who is coming up with this shit? How about less shows like that and more like this >

    Agreed 100%.

Please note, this is unedited footage, it's hand-held footage and no stabilising has been applied as it wouldn't work. There is a bit of shake to it sorry. Sadly the lens I used doesn't have OIS.

This is straight from the camera and obviously looks best in 1080p.

It feels so wrong seeing Jason dance like that. :(

I know there's probably not many other colours that work for a "dark" theme but still allow you to safely see, but after Carnivale and Fright Nights, I'm really getting over the colour purple.

I didn't get that you were referencing Payday because I wasn't aware that you knew about it ahaha, thought it was supposed to be some form of insult because I called them out. :P

Also, yeah, purple and green is getting annoying.

I actually don't get what this means. Am I missing a joke? :c

Couldn't agree more :P They really nailed that right.

Seems weird that some of those photos have all the Christmas lights on in Main Street.

It really makes me sad, not having the lights on, and keeping the normal lights (spotlights etc.) to a red/blue theme was just awesome, it was what instantly struck fear into me when I first went when I was 12; the fear of the unknown.

Wow, I'm a bit sad to see all the negativity so far! Personally I had an absolute blast last night, more so than I did last year when I attended with the wrong crowd and missed most of the goings on.

I acknowledge that there were some teething issues, especially in a couple of the secret maze rooms where camera and props weren't working, but honestly I felt the rest of the night made up for it. At least it did for me, anyway ??

Absolutely loved the Conjuring 2 maze, so much that we went back and did it a second time. I loved the sets in there, and the fact it had progressing storyline, other than just random events happening. I thought it was a massive improvement over the Wolf Creek 2 maze that was in there last year, which tbh I didn't think much of.

The Wyrmwood maze was awesome again this year as well, that was my fave out of the two I did last year. Still get seriously creeped out by the dude in the yellow contamination suit. Thank God there were no attacking bushes this year ??

I thought the Friday the 13th maze was a bit short, however I think they got the most scares out of me with that one (Jason Vorhees running past the queue with a machete got me every time, haha). The Dusk Till Dawn maze was probably my least favourite out of the four as it seemed a bit tamer than all the others, but I did love that they went with a vampire theme for one of them this year ?

The Pendleside Occult Museum VIP Tour was creepy (as others here would know, I was on edge the entire time throughout, knowing something bad was gonna happen, but not sure what) ? Not gonna spoil it, but it had some great unexpected special effects - one big obvious one in particular which they clearly went to a bit of effort to add. Nice little touch having that as an addition to the tour ?

It was my first time doing the Ultimate Terror Tour, and I thought it was worth every cent alone just to have fast track for nearly everything. This is one thing where I went wrong last year, as I attended as general admission on Halloween (the final night) and spent half the night queued up for mazes and didn't get to do any rides. My only complaint is that the fast track didn't include Arkham Asylum, my fave Coaster, as I really wanted to experience it at night. Wasn't worth the lengthy 1hr queue wait, though, especially when there was quality time to be had elsewhere with what the fast track did work on.

Had one ride on SE, GL & SDSC. Went back to do SE a second time just after 8.30pm, but it had closed.

The buffet food was awesome, mainly the hot food. Yummy roast, veges, pasta, salad etc.  Found there were a little too many lolly offerings for my liking for the dessert table, as someone who doesn't really like lollies and prefers stuff like trifles, cakes, mousses etc, as per what they have on offer at Rick's. The choc fountain was great ?

Loved being able to go back to the VIP Lounge whenever I wanted to chill, have a bite and a much needed cold drink - especially after the mazes, which always gave me an incredibly dry mouth for some reason (maybe the fog machines?) ?

We got special collector 'I Survived the Ultimate Terror Tour' badges to keep, which were handed out with our lanyards. Looks great next to my MW 25th anniversary Star Tour one ??

All in all I had a fantastic evening, despite some of the little teething issues which I am sure will be ironed out on subsequent nights. I look forward to doing it all again this season, at least one more time, if not more! I'd attend every night that Fright Nights was on, if it were an option to me ??

Wasn't that the point of them building the two new sheds? So that they don't have to rely on using the sound stages for Fright Nights mazes? I was under the impression that they probably wouldn't utilise them again in future, now that they have made their own substitutes which are available 24/7.

This review made me much more happy about what is going on. I tend to enjoy Fright Nights for what it is, my only disappointment with this year so far (although) I haven't gone yet is the Day of the Dead precinct, I hated how well-lit main street was last year, and it seems to be even brighter this year, I loved main street back in 2013 and 2014 when it was dimly lit with strobes and fast/dubstep type music, really gave off an adrenaline fueled feeling.

I have been following your Facebook page a lot this year and seeing how amazed you are with what MW is doing recently brings great pleasure to me because I appreciate it just as much. I'm gonna go to Fright Nights with this review on mind and I can guarantee I will enjoy every bit of it. :)

From what I've seen on social media, I'm not sure if I'm sold on the Day of the Dead precinct. Just seems like it's more Carnivale than Horror and what's with the Clowns in the Halloween Precinct? What song did they play for Rise of the Dead?

My thoughts exactly, I'm really sad that the DOTD precinct doesn't look it could be even slightly scary. :/
