  1. Like i said its just one of the many rumours i have heard, but seems to be one of the more realistic ones judging by its stats, and comparing it to Macks only other hyper Flash.

The stats are slight bigger than the Mack coaster at Iewa World, I'd say that is a possibility, but I'm hoping for something bigger still.

^I think some slack should be given, 99.99% of the content of this thread is speculation lol.

But realistically a hyper is as big as WBMW could go atm without going broke.

You just have to look at a ride like Fury 325, voted in the Amusement Today Golden Ticket Awards as the number 1 steel coaster this year and the station it has. It is basic and does the job it needs to, the ride itself however makes up for the minimal approach to the station. So long as the ride itself is solid I have no issue with a Fury 325 or even another Green Lantern type of setup for the station and themeing.

Absolute bullshit. Millennium force should be number 1 imo!!!! ☺☺

    • More photos - If nothing has happened, why post more? It's like tuning into a TV drama 'series' only to find it's an old episode put on repeat.
    • More information - We have to rely on VRTP for that and currently, it is a waiting period of just over a month before any kind of new information.
    • Keeping the discussion going? - Simply speculate about what you think is going to happen. Just don't post or ask for updates that consist of information we already know or photos of things that haven't changed.

Like I said before, it is probable that until early March next year at the latest, we will only see footings being placed - not track parts, not theming, not landscaping - just footings. Apart from trying to guess where the track is going to go, footings placement is boring. When track installation begins (like I said, probably March at the latest), daily photos will be a guarantee as that happens pretty quickly - it will be over before you know it as it is the most exciting time of the construction period (apart from any announcements). Footings placement, however, photos are only needed occasionally when heaps of new footings are placed over a period of time. We don't need a photo dedicated to every single new footing - they nearly all look the same.

You all should consider yourselves extremely lucky how frequent the updates are on Parkz now. Back in 2005, when SE was being constructed, we had to wait months before another SE construction update and like they should, they only occurred when things changed. Just take a look at the dates of SE's construction photos in SE's photo gallery and you'll see how long we had to wait back then as forum photo updates weren't common at all back then.

That's why I posted my guess construction timetable for you all - so you will know approximately when something significant will happen.

I think everyone here would agree that this talk of more updates/photos is getting extremely tiring & we still got just over 14 months maximum to go of construction.

If there is some simple advice for you, it is be patient - photos will be posted when something new happens - and if you want to 'keep the discussion going', then speculate - just don't ask for new photos/information constantly (after a 2 week+ gap may be fine) or post news/photos that reveal nothing new.

Some drive-by pics from late this morning. Unfortunately couldn't stop to get closer shots, the car park was absolutely chockers today with the overflow carpark also being utilised, so ultimately decided to give Movie World a miss.

Will try again early next week once the peak of the school holidays is finally over!

The drilling machine looks like its slowly making its way towards the back of the fenced off area, which is a great sign.

I agree with Santa here, while the ride isn't intense as Arkham or Superman, this and Tail Spin IMO it does a good job attracting people who want to become thrill seekers like some of us

All the people that ride this must be like, wow this goes upside down so many times, i dont know why people say superman escape is scary, it doesnt even go upside down. Nek minute they start crying on the superman, and get scared for life from rollercoasters lol.

Remember, it is only a guess based on SE. It has already taken 2 and a third months to prepare the site (July, August & early September) for the new rollercoaster & we've spent two-thirds of 1 month (approx. 20 days during September) watching the 1st footings being placed. And that's just the area next to the MW car park entrance sign - according to the satellite images recently posted, they still got the area next to Justice League: Alien Invasion 4D & Green Lantern to do, the area alongside Entertainment Road as well as the remaining area around MW's car park road. We don't know even know yet if there are more footings to be placed where there are already footings - it depends on the complexity of the track layout.

Regarding cost, SE cost AUD$16 million (Note: This includes non-track costs) so based on a 1.9km track length for the new rollercoaster, that would mean a price of AUD$50 million (adjusted for inflation too) for this new rollercoaster. Again, remember that price would include non-track costs such as landscaping, theming, footpaths, amenities etc - not the rollercoaster alone. Also, note this quote from the CEO of VRTP:

Does anyone know what the most expensive ride/attraction addition in Australia has been thus far? WWF rings a bell but I think I might be wrong...

To be a little more flexible regarding track length, maybe a 1.52km (if 4 month track installation) to 2.28km (if 6 month track installation) track length. 1.9km if a 5 month track installation which is my main guess.

We went all through that last week. Don't worry about TopGolf.

Fury 325 track took about 3-4 months i believe and thats like 2-2.2 km. But then again they were against time and their opening.

    50 million..... well then.

Storm Coaster has been the most expensive to date at $20 million

What makes it so expensive?  Its so short.

I think so. What element is in Mack's repertoire regarding dive loops, hammerheads or Immelmanns?

I see the out-and-back nature of this coaster now. Any chance it'll go over the swamp near GL?

Yeah they have definitely cleared trees and surface for something. It could be like flashes turnaround, not sure of the name of it but its like a side loop sort of thing.

    Early July 2016 to early March 2017 (45%) - Site preparation/footing placement

Just did a quick guess calculation on the length of the new rollercoaster using the time periods for track installation in the timetables above plus the length of SE. The guess results in an approximately 1.9km long rollercoaster.

Do you really think its gonna take another 4-5 months to put the footings in?It seems like they have put in quite a few in just a few days.

Also a 1.9 km coaster would cost s**tloads, i think it would be closer to the 1.3-1.5 km mark if its a hyper, which is still a very solid length.

Does anyone think the coaster will utilize this bit of land, or is it to early to tell?

Be patient Ryande - people will post pics as they take them. Us asking won't suddenly remind them to post them.

True! If i lived up on the Gold Coast i wouldnt be asking as i would most likely drive past or catch a bus most days to check out the progross. But unfortunately im from Melbourne so i cant, which is why im asking. Sorry if im impatience guys,  im just really excited!!!

Did the quick trip and this is what I have.

    1. Roughly the line where the site office is and the temp fence finishes.

    2. Nothing has happened in this area. (this includes no pegs sighted).

    3. This is the hot zone of construction and all the footers are going in.

    4. Pegs in this area but nothing else has happened.

    5. Land has been screeded and some reo cages laying on their sides.

    Capture.PNG

Took some super doggy iphone photos from the car park.

    A. Metal formwork

    B. Footer poured with formwork still attached

    C. Cage with bolts attached waiting on the formwork

    D. Completed footer waiting for the poles to arrive on site.

    IMG_2059.JPG

A1. Shows this footer is only 1 meter from the road.

    IMG_2060.JPG

You can also see the tie-down rods which will attach the main structure of the coaster to the footer.

Do you think the coaster will venture into the area between 3 and 1?
