  1. Drove past AW about an hour ago and tried to have a sneak peak of mi3 as I passed. As I thought would have been done, all of the support beams have been themed to the material/theming we saw on Creative Works' FB page (Photo below). I also saw some objects on the flat land in front of the Abyss' crest outside the park in which I don't know how to describe, they were round and looked like they were made out of stone. I'll try to attach some photos of them tomorrow but they will be crappy quality, I'm not sure if they are apart of mi3 or just some maintenance from around AW.

Closer view of Mi3.  Does this mean Abyss is finally getting aircon in its queue line?!

Making my post pointless!! Haha. Great pictures here. Thanks for the update, did you see the objects up the top of the mountain?

^Not quite sure what you're trying to draw there...

Someone commented on a Facebook post that it was in the Bermuda Triangle of positions - nestled amongst the other scary thrill rides.  Is it too soon to have another Bermuda Triangle ride?

Otherwise - wood facade - something to do with the guardian's forest?

I know I have bad drawing haha. Basically I was trying to portray that those supports have the same shape as the themeing pole we saw on creative works' facebook. What I'm trying to say is that I think we will be seeing those themeing poles as our support beams. Not sure though due to the fact that the supports we have seen already built are plane black. Also what Facebook page was that comment made on, could you supply me with a link?

  3. Now that we pretty much know what the ride is, anyone have an ideas of what this themeing could be used for? Do you guys think it's support for the actual ride or just a large structure that is a part of theming?

Edit: Looks like I've answered my own question by looking at Intamin's website and 'Loke'. I know we've seen black supports at AW from photography, but it could be possible that it has been rapped in order to keep the attraction a secret. But this image below shows the same shape of support connection as the theming structure does.

Can i point out how much of a weird position it is in. I wouldve had my money on it being at the now grassed site of where the wax museum 'swamp' lay. And the theory of two rides from the worker looks to be completely disproven

I 100% agree with the positioning. It is a very unusual area to out it but I guess maybe it was done because it is the middle of the park we all the 'scary' attractions are and when the ride is at full swing it will rise above the hill and ongoing traffic will be able to view it from outside the park.

Don't pay the money yet. I think its defiantly not a Zamperla Discovery Revolution but an Intamin Gyro Swing. If you look at the Zamperla model this is the footings. The 4 main supports are a long way away from the main centre point where Intamins are close like the Near Maps image.

    Compared to the Claw.

Hopefully they have opted for the new Intamin Lap Bar restraints for the Gyro Swing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qonUju5gpA

You make a good point here, especially with the supports as they would interfere with the Abyss. Hopefully if we get some photos of those 'bright coloured objects" iwerks talked about, maybe we will be able to analyse a theme. Don't think we will be able to find out the name or anything due to the fact AW doesn't have a theme such as a Movie World for example but we can try! Currently so happy about the progress being made!

  6. YES IM SO HYPED!!

@grrofunger are you able to do an overall near maps image of AW and is there an area behind Dragons Kingsom storing the theming or ride parts that's visible on near maps?

i think it's safe to say either an Intamin gyroswing or Zamperla discovery.

I 100% agree. Looks like there is a 50% chance I'll be owing 5 bucks to a friend that made a bet August last year that mi3 would be a Zamperla Discovery Rev. *Mixed Emotions* hehe (:)

  7. I would just like to add that I drove passed AW on Saturday and from behind peaking through the space between the Abyss and the bushes of the Tunnel of Terror, I saw a structure that reminded me of Bounty's main pole structure (sorry about the incorrect terminology) where there were 4 starter poles leaning in to a top square. I strongly believe I saw this but if someone drives passed and thinks otherwise let me know!!

I thought that to but Mark has said it is being signed by a contractor in Europe, Fun Time (star flyers) are made in Australia so there is still Mondial or Zamperla. Zamperla's model only cost a few mill. (so to cheap) and the Mondial Windseeker Mark has said in the past cost more than the 7.5 million dollar price tag. So I wonder what it could be.

Also Creative Works have posted this image on their Facebook page.

Would you be able to link us all to their FB page? Thanks.

Well that was the other point. Mark has said that it's the largest of its kind in Australia. So by that I would assume there is another version of Mi3 somewhere in Australia.

In saying this you've reminded me of Dreamworld's 'Claw' ride. We could be seeing a larger version of the Claw at AW as mi3. I looked at the price in which Dreamworld paid for it and the answer is 6 million AUD. This would perfectly fit the budget and leave 1.5 million for themeing etc. It could be likely to be seen within the next season at AW, however the scale would have to be huge as the current Gyro Swing by Intamin located in Dreamworld is already quite large!

But the Sky lift just skirts along the edge, and you can use the space under it efficiently for the queue.

Anyway, here are my punts for what can feasibly fit

-Starflyer type ride...Why not? They are crowd pleasers.

-Some sort of standard model family coaster (Maurer spinner pictured). The park needs a full family coaster that sits in terms of intensity between Dragon Express and Abyss.

-Zamperla Discovery Revolution....Australia doesn't have one that does a full 360.

-Zamperla Giant Discovery (If placed lengthways)....Would be the biggest of its kind in Aus, but not my first choice.

-Gerstlauer Skyroller....Park has dealt with the manufacturer. More thrill than a standard starflyer.

You are definitely correct about the Sky Lift. My mistake, I guess I thought the position of the construction was closer to the gates of Abyss than I thought. Anyways, as you said about the Zamperla Discovery Revolution, a mate of mine mentioned last year when we found out about the news that he has ridden one in Rainbows End in New Zealand, he mentioned it would be a great attraction for AW and it fits the category of the budget and it would fit in the spot granted as you have mentioned. Personally I would be happy with any of the attractions above! Especially a Star Flier or a Zamperla Discovery Revolution.
