Honestly the wettest night ever thanks to the storm. Lightning struck next to the Sea Jellies building tonight too.

But aren't Taipan's trains single axle?
Without the front wheel assemblies, the front carriage of the train would drag its head through the rails. Same with Rivals.

Is it a controlled free spin? Because how did they make it spin in that video?
Not sure if you're joking or not (honest, I have no clue), but I did see them push the seat to make it spin. I was watching them play with it from drop yesterday.

Where did you get that idea?

Has a pretty good spin to it. Can't wait to ride
It seems the scaled-path continues through to the station... Mixed feelings about that.

Spinning seat train currently on track and in the station.

I know
When it was testing, the ride came to (what appeared to be) a stop with the help of the LSMs anyways. Maybe it explains the reason for why it took so long to slither out of it.
Not to say we'll ever see it happen with real passengers, but it did stop or roll for 2 - 3 minutes on the MCBR.

Zero car shell present on non-spinning train

The train without the spinning rear carriage will be 'worn in' long before the other. It's not been sighted yet, has it?
The train without the spinning carriage remains present on the track.
The train with the spinning carriage is still nowhere to be seen.
I assume once Dreamworld start testing the ride themselves, we'll see the train with the spinning carriage.
And given that from sometime this week or next week testing will rapidly increase and be more frequent, perhaps we may even see the spinner slither on track for some high-capacity two-train operations soon after.

Didn't @DaptoFunlandGuy figure out there was no MCBR?
I understand the thought behind this but I'll still refer to it as one because it is literally a mid-course brake run, and from what I saw yesterday, acted as one too.

Does anyone know how long ago motocoaster's test seat was installed?

Yeah I don’t think superman second train has been used since sometime last year, but that sign seems to be brought out during the holidays when there are bigger crowds while the second train is not used.
Superman's second train was active during Winter holidays.

They were testing the MCBR today. Train came to a full stop on the MCBR and around 2 mins later the train slithered out.
Must I say that when the train left the MCBR, (although not surprising) it travelled concerningly slow - so slow it had the potential to valley anytime and anywhere throughout the second half of the course.
Also, a few staff members came forth and stated Taipan will undergo more frequent test runs next week.
I believe the reason for that is to start training the operations team whilst also familiarising them with its operations. Another point to keep in mind is the wheels begin to wear along the track, thus allowing the train to navigate along the track more quickly (I think). The opening crew have also been internally announced, so a congrats to those who got a position.

7News dropped into Dreamworld today too. Possibly for the same reason.

Very little progress (from what I've seen beside the launch track of Superman) made on Rivals' second train.
There appears to be a few carriages (if they even belong to Rivals) wrapped in some kind of black plastic wrap. They've been sitting like that for months now.

The queue is coming along quite nicely.
Does anyone know if they have or haven't installed any coloured/uncoloured floodlights along the track? It would be sweet to see it light up at night...
And on the topic of lights:
With the current lights installed along the ride entry and exit, I'd imagine when it comes to Dreamworld's night events that it'll be quite dark in those areas. Each light pole seems to be quite far from the next.

is the nest in the framework on the underside of the track? The train passes on the top so clearly the nest isn’t there.Pretty sure moving the nest would a less favourable situation for the bird.
its illegal to move a nesting bird unless posing a high safety risk, which I’m assuming it isn’t
Ah I see.
Yes, the nest resides in the framework on the underside of the track.
Just pointed it out coz the bird has to fly back and forth between cycles. Hope when the chicks hatch neither of them get smashed by the train...

Bear in mind, the next Movie World attraction was aiming for a 2023 opening. The announcement should've been at the end of this year but may now be some time next year.
I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement was pushed back in benefit of Sea World having the spotlight.
-
Someone should move the birds nest in the top-middle of the non-inverting loop. The amount of times that bird keeps flying away and back from the nest every 5 minutes as soon as the train rumbles past...

I'd love to see another hyper constructed, or even the addition of a giga or strata. A mack extreme spinner will be sick too!

If not done on the ground, perhaps they could hire an art firm like Balarinji or a First Nations Artist to cover the wall (or most of it) of Sky Voyager?
Qantas have worked closely with Balarinji numerous times for its "Flying Art" series and it would be nice to see someone use the large canvas at Dreamworld too...

Yeah I did end up going last night.
I didn't purchase any of the special event foods and drinks, but they look super tasty.
There were food outlets and trucks everywhere in the food court so it was hard to choose what to eat between all of them.
I ended up only getting me a BBQ cheese and bacon burger or whatever it's called.
