Meanwhile I'm the idiot who waited 5.5 hours for Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom

I refuse to wait any longer than 45-60 minutes in Australia for a ride though.

I can't believe I was dumb enough to wait 3 hours for Rivals... 💀

For whatever reason I believe Superman’s is a more general maintence bay. Have definitely seen GL trains there, and JL cars when I did the Star Tour.

So maybe there is possibility that it was in fact Rivals in there... The features of the train were somewhat easy to distinguish because some of the flood lights (or whatever lights they have in there) were on.

  3. That's fair I guess. My vision must've blurred because it was during the launch sequence. But I really positively thought I saw a disconnected Rivals train in there... Maybe it was a dismantled Superman train. I didn't see any other colour except for black seats and grey as well as steel checker plates there.

I remember during the most recent school holidays, one of the staff members told me (when Rivals was open and only operating one train during three-hour waits) that the second train wasn't in the Rivals maintenance bay, but in fact, somewhere else within Movieworld - that's probably what lead me to think the above statement.

Does the little maintenance bay/s within the Superman footprint (next to the launch track) get utilised by other attractions? I remember seeing a few Green Lantern carriages there during the Christmas holidays...

  4. After making a quick visit to Movieworld and riding Superman, it's been discovered that one of the trains for Rivals (or what looked liked) are within that little maintenance area to the left-hand side of the launch track (indoor). Found it while speeding past during the launch.

Not sure if its been posted earlier or if youse have already known, but I just thought I'd share.

I think its more because it's a clone so often its just easier to not re-design the columns for the whole thing.

I think obviously they paid for a bit of customisation with the swing launch, but probably easier to leave the rest of the columns and just adjust the pedestal height.

Not as bad as this Intamin 10 looper in china on a hillside where they literally built an entire concrete structure to hold it up on a flat plane.

Do you have a link to the CCTV images or CCTV feed?

    https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/business/dreamworld-ceo-greg-yong-says-cashedup-company-is-planning-new-major-attractions-for-park/news-story/2d6991d18ea55af33584d6a14a64422d

Here's where the images came from. So yeah unfortunately I haven't found a live CCTV feed - though that would be greatly appreciated should we have access to one.

If the link fails to load the above article, use this:

Should you fail to see ALL CCTV images posted in the earlier post, a simple Google search of "Steel Taipan CCTV" should do the trick :D

I can guarantee you that The Velociraptor at IMG in the UAE doesn’t, at least when I rode it. This was also a completely 1-1 clone of Blue Fire at Europa. I’m kinda wanting these on ST though haha.

I'm intrigued to know what the design of the zero car will be. Hope it has some bright lights on it (like Blue Fire or Helix) but I have my doubts. Also wonder if Dreamworld will/have opt for the standard one, Helix or a custom design like Rivals or Copperhead Strike.

But damn, how good would a train that lights up be... If only Dreamworld were open till dark...

As I’ve already said, DC Rivals took 4 months, but that was a much more complex construction process. If there aren’t any delays, I can see track construction complete within 3 months.

After that they’ve got to build the station/maintenance building, queue area, landscaping, pathways, theming and then also testing.

In the renders/video we have seen all this rock work... what are the chances they will actually build all this

I really hope they do, especially on the back of the SkyVoyager building so it isn’t just a white backdrop. And it will make the coaster even more exciting if you are twisting and turning between and around rock work

There's pieces of metal mesh/mold things lying around in the carpark that come in the shape of rocks/boulders. It's likely these'll be added exactly or closely resembling those shown in the rendering.

I will try find a photo of Blue Fire's so youse can compare them with Steel Taipan's ones.
