The Whanau Way slides are fast, and alternate between quick enclosed curves and open air drops.
Whanau Way passes underneath. with two pairs of mirror image slides.
Whanau Way and Omaka Rocka are a pair of attractions in a slide complex with a common start tower.
An electronic timing system stands at the end of the runout. Good racers can do the entire slide in under 8 seconds.!
On Taumata Racer, 8 riders race through enclosed spirals, which converge together for a large drop to the finish line.
The trains feature LED lights on the sides, which make the ride look great at night.
One last squiggly bit of track and we're at the final brakes, where the onboard music abruptly stops.
After the heilx its one more set of brakes....
A 540 degree helix called the "Plot twist" turns the track back towards the station.
What follows is the "Drop tuning" section...a series of side to side twists.
After the crowd surfing its up into another brake run.
You literally surf over the crowds in the main queue below. The element banks the train heavily to one side, resulting in lateral forces that make it feel like you could slip out to the side.
Following the jump cut is the "Crowd surfer" element.
Following the treble clef the track hops over and threads through the loop...A part known as the "Jump cut".
Eventually it curls right up and dives down again...An element known as the "Treble clef".
At the bottom of the drop you shoot through this fire station building.
After the double take its up into the first set of block brakes...The ride seems to be full of these!
The "double take" towers over a recreation of the Hollywood Bowl.
