In an effort to make the ride more appealing to a wider audience, it features no upside down manouvers. This non inverting loop, dubbed the "Double take" twists at the top to prevent the train from going upside down.
The lift hill heads vertically up the tower, but into a non vertical first drop.
Well, we wouldn't be able to get on the ride if it weren't for this thing. The station features a moving conveyer belt, with trains rolling through slowly. Ride operators use an RFID wristband system to touch each train to confirm harness have been checked. This means as soon as the train is cleared it accelerates beyond the conveyer belt speed and heads towards the lift.
Hollywood Rip Ride rockit is a large, non looping coaster, which features trains fitted with an onboard sound system for each seat. Guests can pick their own soundtrack from a set list via a touch screen on the lap harness.
The last inversion before the final brakes is a 2nd corkscrew.
It is of course, the well known 'wing dip' element. Which uses a series of timed fountains to give the impression the train is touching the surface of the water. Those with long arms and seated on the right can reach out and skim the surface...barely.
It must be a good one, judging by the crowds gathered to watch!
Following the corkscrew the train passes through the mid course brakes, and dives down towards the surface of the water for perhaps the most spectacular element on the ride....
After the barrel roll, the train heads around a helix, and through this corkscrew.
The U turn leads into a barrel roll.
You can see the way the designers added a 9th car the front of the train that exists purely to hold a bunch of fibreglass manta rays.
After the pretzel loop is an elevated U turn.
The element is one of the most intense anywhere. Riders feel weightless at the top, but are pinned to their back by strong G forces as they curl underneath.
The first major element is the pretzel loop (Entered from the right)
This leads into a swooping first drop above the crowds below.
But onto the coaster. The ride begins with a lift almost 43m high.
