  1. I'd say dreamworld will be fairly desperate to try and have the ride operational during the holidays... in most cases the longer the construction takes to complete the higher the cost Also as far as I am aware it is their intention to reduce congestion on other rides by having this ride so it would be silly for it not to be open at least softly during the holidays which is peak attendance time.
  2. It's opening date was 'September' non specific because with all constructions, delays are common. Hopefully it will get opened sometime during the september holidays.
  3. So how do they pull the train along the track? eventhough only a couple carriages, it would still be heavy
  4. How do you do a pull through? I'd love to know about this process.
  5. In my opinion this whole discussion has gone completely beserk! Everyone, Chill! This discussion was intended to be about the constructions within Warner Bros Movie World, not about spelling and grammar. Focus People!
  6. had a quick look, the ride has been installed up to it's tower pipes etc but alot of work is still left to be done, ground work probably some waterpipe installation pumps etc
  7. Hey guys one train i can confirm has arrived, wasn't able to see a second, from what I saw today there is still quite a lot to do within the next say 2 weeks before they really need to get the ride tested and operational for opening by the september holidays. Saberon's Construction Update
  8. Also just read "Warner Bros. Movie World will see a new completely re-branded kid’s area including new carousel, rides and retail store." May no longer be looney tunes.
  9. I'd say a lazy river would be quite likely, the park needs a bit of a chillout area
  10. ""Firstly, people WILL fork out for bumper cars. Take a look at any travelling show." This is NOT a travelling show this is a hundred million dollar themepark with significant cost of entry. People have expectations with major tourist attractions that it is all included except novelty items and gifts which are usually tokens to remember their trip. We are not talking a small amount of money for families to come to moviewold it costs hundreds and then they wanna add even more cost by putting a charge on some crappy dodgems. It is NOT ACCEPTABLE! We are talking about a multi-billion dollar american company who operates this themepark and it is damn pathetic they ask people to pay for something when they have already paid a premium to enter, a premium on food, a premium on novelties and now they can't even ride everything for the included price of entry. IT IS A SCAM. IT IS DISGUSTING. And no one should be in support of it.
  11. To be frank i think an arcade installation is a total waste of money for all concerned, the patrons and the park. It will do nothing to minimise congestion on other attractions and it's just going to allow stupid people to waste their money. Charging for dodgems is nothing but scandalus. Shame on WVTP! But I do have some piccies! the death of the looneytunes sign
  12. I actually think that tower really is looking quite impressive and complicated now with so many pipes and track surrounding it, it's looking very cool!

  15. I'm sorry since when is 10 million chump change? What we have coming is a unique highly unusual ride, that i can confidently say that will have a pretty damn quick launch on the assumption that these are high horsepower hiflow hydraulic friction wheels. They should be able launch at a substantial acceleration due the the amount of area of contact from train to tyre, it should be more that enough for a substantial launch with no skidding or slip. It also has a reasonable length track with pretty damn sharp corners and maybe even some airtime. I'm looking forward to riding it.
  16. yeah thats pretty right they don't operate it because rain hurts at that speed. Also the rain can effect the track speed so after rain they take a rubber brush and walk along the track pushing the water off.
  17. I think the facade is cheap and and unconsidered, and I pray it is temporary. As for the attraction, is it named after intensity that is the gaming arcades? or is it something else? My personal views of arcades in themeparks is that it's a silly idea in any themepark. It's promoting people wasting their time playing arcade cames you can play at any arcade or even at home when you can actually experience much more from a ride. Not to mention it costs alot more to go to a themepark than an arcade. As far as dodgems are concerned, i feel they are there simply to compete against dreamworld, they are low capacity and i feel they are quite old fashioned and somewhat out of place for movieworld. I feel movieworld is transitioning from a moviepark into more of a broad and more generalised themepark.
  18. I really don't know why they didn't go hydraulic or LSM. All i can think is the hydraulic's cost of installation and LSMs power bill. I would have prefered a lower power hydraulic launch maybe 10kbhp. But we'll just have to see how quick the friction motors are.Oh and regarding noise, they wouldn't be much louder than what the superman escape is while travelling through the tunnel, relatively quiet whurring noise.
  19. It would be so cool to own that . Probably have to pay a fortune in registration on it.
  20. - nice it's not that electromatic launches "break down" a lot, it's just that they can lose synch with the train causing a missfire where the push pull polarity effect of the electromagnets are not inline with the position of the train causing either dampened accelleration no accelleration or slowing meaning ideal or required launch speed is not reached. This technically could never happen on a friction launch as long as the motors were all operating correctly. Although I would have much prefered a hydraulic launch as it produces so much torque and quick launch.
  21. Lamborghini for me hehe. I think they went friction launch because of reliablity issues with electromagnetic launches and more than likely it doesn't require the horsepower of a hydraulic launch. it'd be nearly impossible to have a missfire on a friction launch system. Also it's installation would be less complicated and therefore cheaper.
  22. Yeah when i saw the launch track initially I had a feeling it would be friction launch based on the fact it seemed to have harnesses for the friction wheel motors. I guess they are doing this because it's a more reliable and probably significantly cheaper launch mechanism than hydraulic or LIM or LSM. Also the ride doesn't need as much torque or speed as to require a hydraulic launch and the carriages might be a little lighter due to less passengers and shorter trains
  23. The loud noise of the tower of terror is the solid steel wheels against the steel track it has always been noisey and will always be noisey it's just how it is when you run steel against steel. The LSM system due to technical issues has become less reliable recently in particular with the ebrake system but it is being investigated by dreamworlds engineering as to how to prevent ebrake failure but the launch except for the rare missfire has been operating as per normal.
  24. I could take an educated guess RE trains, probably 2 weeks ish to get trains on track, will give sufficient time for launch and train management electronics to be installed and will give enough time for testing afterwards
