  1. Ok so I rode this ride for the first time this week. I was lucky enough to ride it twice with only about a 15 min wait each time. In my opinion, I believe that for what it is... it is pretty good.overall with the splashdown being the best bit. Like Burmuda Triangle, its a great family ride. HOWEVER I believe that it is too short. Its pretty much seems to just go up then down. I believe it still should have been placed at the front of the park (like originally planned), which would of given the ride even greater visibility outside the park and on the other side of southport. Using the same theme they could of incorporated a new better show building and at the end a elevator lift to get the cars up and possibly made it look like a crane (fits in with the port theme). This would have saved lots of space getting the cars up (instead of using the lift hill). Further they could of used part of the car park for the track to go around (if wanted to); with the car park fitting into the theme nicely also. Being also right next to Nerang River they could of better played on that ride is supposed to be at a port. This probably would of created better views/ experience for riders also. What do you guys think?
  2. Hey Guys I have found an update of the storm coaster made by aussieairtime.com in the month of September. Looks like not too much has been going on, though still an interesting update. http://aussieairtime.com/?p=63 Benny
  3. Has anyone been at the park over the last week or so? Its been a month since we've last had some pics of the coaster. Would be awesome to see if there has been any further work done.
  4. Mmm seems like the theming is going to be pretty damn good!! Have high hopes for this ride.. though still keeping my expectations cautiously optimistic!!! :DDD
  5. Thank you.. though I'm too lazy to be clicking on links! Here is the complete track pic: (courtesy Theme Park Social Network).
  6. I totally agree with you Flea. I still think they should of placed it at the front on the left side of the carpark as originally planned. Going on the sky-way prior, all but the viper in the far back corner seemed reasonably low, with the theming of Bermuda giving the park a nice resort feel. The storm now being placed bang in the middle of the park trumps pretty much everything else, including the sky-way. So now all you see are support beams and track when passing on the sky-way, and when looking into the middle of the park. Like you Ill reserve judgement until I see the final product, though still even with great theming, there is only so much that can be done. Its going to be interesting to see how it all turns out...
  7. A few more pics of current construction... https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=3e3be42a0bd7e7a7&id=3E3BE42A0BD7E7A7%21189&Bsrc=Share&Bpub=SDX.SkyDrive&sc=Photos&authkey=!An0MhR3c3-1eC70
  8. Hmmmm Im really looking forward to the storm, though after seeing a POV of the one installed at Sommerland; if it is indeed the same I think it might be too short/dull!Ill reserve judgement till they finish the thing, though it would be nice to see them make the best use of the show building; a zig zag layout with theming ect.. to add to the ride and make it longer.Looking at the recent pictures though, I doubt this will be the case! :'(
  9. Hey guys This popped up on my Facebook wall this afternoon. Gives a virtual tour of Wet n Wild Sydney. I don't think anyone has posted this yet on this thread - sorry in advance if they have!! http://goo.gl/6cImG
  10. Its been almost a month since anyone has posted pictures about the progress of construction of the new ride (seems like forever!). Does anyone have some new pics, or been there recently to report any developments on construction???
  11. Nope... havent heard any new news on this topic either! My guess is that WVTP are focusing on the new attractions opening up in sea world this and next year. Further, MW has recently seen a refurb of lethal weapon (aka arkham asylum) and justice league. Doubt anything will happen in that space till at least 2014/ 2015.
  12. Must say the funnel web is looking really good!! Cannot wait till everything has been completed!! Hopefully we will see a late December/ early January opening date!!
  13. Thanks for the heads up! ... Still its good for it to be posted up here, for those like myself who use parkz as their main source of info.
  14. Hey guys!!I am new to posting in the forums though have been a long time viewer of parkz.
