Got the Locals Lite, is there anyway to add your photo etc in the app, or will I have to do it when I get to the park?

Should be able to manually add the barcoded number in the VRTP app and add your photo in after selecting that ticket on your profile.

Go to “add tickets and vouchers” in profile.

  2. I would love if it was all connected path up to West from behind Scooby would be great.

Many years ago one of the reasons previously mentioned by staff when the SDSC > SE shortcut was closed is that management wanted guests to go through Main St with Retail & F/B.

Given the recent trend of VRTP seeking $$$ over guest experience it wouldn’t suprise me though if we simply get the main st (former China Town entrance) but I certainly hope at minimum it is connected with SE.

  3. For what it’s worth I attended on the 27th for the first day of Hooray for Hollywood, fully knowing how busy it was and have to echo the comments of others that ride operations simply do not work as effectively as they used to years back for whatever reason. They were running two trains on SE/DCR/RR.

The skeptic in me does wonder if there’s no sense of urgency in an effort to sell more fast track.

Slight note on that review FT is not automatically allocated front row, it depends on the operator and many take from general first. You can also always request which row you would like and wait for it.

There are things the park could have done to be better and avoid some minor guest triggers.

    - Not advertise attractions as opening at 9:30AM on the website/app, staff aren’t even rostered to ensure this is possible.

    - WWF and HSD not being listed as closed on the website despite the park being aware it will be down all day.

    - Have a backup of paper maps/showtimes when there are issues with the app and/or mobile reception.

    - Crowd Management, was just chaos everywhere. Have some staff rostered simply to organise que’s/people especially for rides and shows.

  4. It was only recently Movie World updated the text description in the app for SDSC to say closed, it said “closing at the end of the school holidays” all year. Safe to say communication is not VRTP’s strong suit. The ride is also still included under rides on the app, considering the main use of the app is navigation/checking ride wait times I think it should be removed until it’s reopening.

Whilst this sign change is better than the standard a-frame maintenance sign that has been outside the ride since closure I think they should do better with a custom a-frame or similar with a bit more information, maybe even concept art.

People like to take photos with the ride signs/replicate old photos so I think this should have been left as is so people can do so.

Have it under very good authority that the building that was once vintage cars queue line and unload/load station had quite a big tree  go through it.

    Can confirm

If that’s true then what is the point of making the effort to re open it then if it’s all going to get demo’d in a few months?

Reckon we might see vintage cars closed until Rivertown opens

Surely if they are true to attempting rebrand to nostalgia they will allow a last hurrah with these cars !

Will never see them again in operation .

just have to remove the damaged roof .

A car may have been crushed by said roof/tree too… But yes if that’s the only damage I hope to see it reopen (with one less Model T Ford)

Now that it's open, probably worth starting a new thread on the flyer - since there's no more 'construction' to update...

Presumably the mods will split it off at some point.

So the way Flyer works for Passholders at Night Markets is your pass is scanned at ride entry and you are issued a wristband that allows you to ride for the rest of the night, this same staff member is also selling the single ride tickets.

  8. Carnivale bookings/dates are live for February 2024.

Disappointed to see the Festival Flavours Pass is now simply one food item (full size serve) + souvenir sipper / unlimited refills, a single scoop ice cream and a churro. Is it really festival flavours if only one item is not available during standard day trade? Although objectively its good value when a souvenir sipper is now $17 on its own.

$10 for a single ride on DF or Dodgems, $15 for a single ride on both.

I dont mind this pricing, think it’s low enough for casual/infrequent visitors while encouraging anyone that would be local and visit more often to simply fork out for an Annual Pass.

  10. Worth noting that for the day parade Joker and Harley as well as The Justice League have been on foot for awhile now (they also were on those old style "wide berth" floats).

I don't doubt there is/was a plan to retire this style of float but they still did have one in operation during the parade (Santa).

Overall as others have said, very similar to last year. No Marilyn or Scrooge character this year although there did appear to be more roaming elves. Crowd cap appears similar to last year too, despite being sold out it felt very manageable.

The light mist will definitely be great in the summer heat, but was there pooling in the queue?

A fair bit of pooling at ride exit (which is between the ops booth and the que).

Slightly wet floor at the front of the general single que. Certainly less than the photo above, my understanding is the fountains have been "turned down" since initial staff testing. Ride Express que runs along the inside of the ride and was dry.

@Park Addict 93what's on everybody's lips is how is the loading procedure because that will determine the queue length?

2 staff checking restraints, didn't take too long. As soon as everyone exited from the previous cycle the double seat que was admitted, then the ride express then single.
Single seats simply have the restraint between legs, you can do your own seatbelt (*cough* Trident).

Outside of peak periods where crowd management is required, I reckon in the last few years it is 50/50 whether there is a entry host or you just walk on in

Not my experience, always an entry host but yeah may have been behind the CCTV bench.

They also are at entrance to manage the FT (and formerly VQ) verification.
