  1. I have a feeling from memory his name is Blake, he was operating Wipeout one day last year, i have never seen such a funny and enthusiastic ride operator before, he always had something different to do/say every cycle. He is in this video: Speaking of Wipeout does anyone know if the gondola on Wipeout has been attatched to the arms yet? I reckon Monday 7th will be the opening.
  2. When they first dismantled the ride they left 2 waves behind, plus I think it would just look stupid if they didn't put them back on. So I hope you are correct. This photo near the bottom right shows the waves on the wave.
  3. With having to put all the gearboxes and motors and stuff like that the surfboards get in their way as it is close to the ladder on the supports that allows them to get up there so it would be one of the last to go back up.
  4. From what i can see the seats are now blue instead of black, the Wipeout logo is yellow but i think that will change hopefully, the new colour scheme painted on and also the lap bar looks like it is blue as well. Its all coming together now, so exciting.
  5. Great to see the arms back on, I'm interested to see the gondola which i would think isn't far away to be installed either.
  6. Very exciting, it's all coming together now, i don't know if I'm a fan of the new colours on the arms and supports though.
  7. Great to see the walking gates on Wipeout back on and operating. It looks like its starting to come back together hopefully. Dreamworld have Screamworld July 4th, I wonder if they will have it open for that?
  8. I hope Fluffy returns, she is missing from the garden so she might be getting some work done to her, but we won't know for a couple of weeks. I think the elements will be the water, water jets, water spraying down the wave which they did in the 90's and also maybe new water sprayers on the gondola itself? Will be interesting to see once all is done. It now looks like they have to finish the new cement path, if the water jets or whatever is there, give the lagoon a splash of paint, put the surfboards back up and bring the motors and all that stuff back, install it and the gondola, test it etc. Most of the work is done though its just final touches and putting it all back together
  9. So previously when you stand at the fence there was a sandy beach part then the lagoon. So now they have got rid of the sand and have now started to put concrete down and the fence is going right up to the lagoon so soon when you stand there you could probably put your foot into the water. Yep the deck is gone. It's now just a slab of concrete where the water jets are so they are doing work to them. The tent is just a cover to protect the workers.
  10. More like 3 metres haha Seems to close to me to see that happen, if you look closely you can see a chair in there though, it is probably there to protect whatever they're building such as concrete maybe to build new water jets or fix them up? Time will tell.
  11. My friend went to Dreamworld today and took these pictures for me, as you can see the new fence line is right on the lagoon and there is a tent over the old jetty which was the former water jets. The que house has been completed painting wise and as you can see the new cement paths are coming along. Also there is the light blue, another shade of blue then dark blue on the arms in a pattern which looks like to match the operator beach house and also the counterweights have the same look.
  12. Very true! Onsite work is just making it look pretty yet the ride itself with the motors and gearboxes etc are all being done offsite. So all they really have to do when the onsite painting and changes are done they need to bring all the components back to the site and construct it again, reboot the computer, test it and put the water back in and whatever else. It should come back together very soon especially as they wanted it back open June 30, now pushed back to "early" July. But I can't wait!
  13. An engineer told me the water was removed due to corrosion and he said if they left the water in there any longer the ride would of fallen to bits. The wooden jetty thing has been started to being ripped up and that has been covering the water jets since it was built to cover them back in 2007. Also i have noticed in some recent pictures new pipes have been built on top of the water jets at the bottom of the wave, it's hard to describe but if you look carefully there is about 4-5 of them.
  14. The water is returning, no need to worry about that and new theatrical elements as well according to the engineer in the mini mayor video. Also the concrete colouring may be due to the fence line being moved much closer to the Wipeout itself so they have 1 colour.
  15. If they want Wipeout back open by early July instead of June 30, they need to move pretty quick, it just seems there is still a lot to do in little time. It's a shame they are going back to dark blue instead of light blue.
  16. Hey, I'm not sure. A friend told me about the current Wipeout situation late last week as I was not there myself so I'm not to sure about the Reef diver situation. Hopefully someone is visiting Dreamworld soon and can take some updated pictures of both Wipeout and Reef Diver
  17. This image is about 3 weeks old now, I posted it in the maintanence forum, since then they have ripped up the jetty which was covering the water jets, ripped up the concrete out the front to move the fence line closer to the ride, painted the supports a lighter blue and they have also painted the beach themed changing rooms and the operator beach house to new colours such as red, purple, yellow, orange and green.
  18. I've discussed this numerous times in the "Maintenance Schedule" topic, which is where we were discussing Wipeout, but now it's all over the place.
  19. Not in this topic unless it was on another? I only check the forums once or twice a week so i'm not sure.
  20. Dreamworld has posted a video with the new mini mayor and a Dreamworld Engineer gave some details about the refurb/rebuild of Wipeout -It will open early July - A complete colour scheme change. The change rooms are now yellow, green, orange and purple. The operator beach house is now 3/4 purple. - New seats - Theatrical elements will be added (water and the shark, water jets etc id say) - The fence line is coming in closer to the ride - The que line will be changed up. Id say they will board the next lot of riders in the wave while a cycle is going like they use to do.
