  1. I'm guessing it would have something to do with whatever the black stripes are on the uphill? (If anyone could explain what they are would be great)
  2. http://wheatcitymag.com/2013/11/worlds-tallest-waterslide-kansas-city/ The slide is named VERRUCKT (Insane in german), is a 4 person raft slide and will beat the current record holder Insano from Brazil which stands at 134.5ft.
  3. Hopefully it doesn't hold them up too much. I don't think they would have left anything too major for now unless it was necessary. Anyone with access to nearmaps, is it possible to get the latest images?
  4. I think that will be their first public day, with a media and season pass holders before it.
  5. I find it odd that they've taken the height route for pricing instead of age. I can sort of understand it, but it seems very unusual.
  6. Just checked the WnWS website, they have put up the pricing for single day admission. It also notes down the bottom: Looks like they're implementing the fast pass system as well. Wonder how many rides and which ones they will put it on.
  7. So I did read through everything and now I've found something else out that I need to ask about. Would it be good to get the 3 day park hopper ticket?
  8. It's stupid how people are complaining about the price of a season pass. In the long run, its going to be cheaper than buying general admission every time you go if you go multiple times. And are they going to stop selling the gold passes soon? I think I read in one of their replies on FB that they sold out of the ones that came with free parking.
  9. It seems legit. WnWS said it's a third party hosted event.
  10. Just another marketing ploy, nothing new there. It won't be the biggest or best in the world, but using that as a tag line to grab someone's attention quickly as they see something like a banner or sign with that on it gains a lot of interest and attention. Still going to be a great park though.
  11. Another update from the WnWS Facebook page. Over the next 25 days they are revealing one attraction or feature per day. There is a picture with numbered tiles and you vote for the tile you want revealed in the comment section.
  12. Votes were counted and "Boomerang Bay" was the winning name.
  13. Wet 'n' Wild Sydney just posted this to facebook: "Thank you to everyone who submitted a suggestion to name our river. We have reviewed your suggestions and chosen 5 potential names for you to vote on: 1. Eastern River 2. Turquoise Bay 3. Boomerang Bay 4. Darling Bay 5. The Lagoon Simply cast your vote by commenting on this post with the number associated with your favourite suggestion outlined above. We look forward to announcing the winning name tomorrow at 3PM when voting closes!" Thoughts on the top 5 names for voting?
  14. My iPhone didn't like it too much. iPad probably worked better because of the larger screen.
  15. Don't even try the website on an iPhone, or you're gonna have a bad time.
  16. This was posted today on Dreamworld's youtube page Edit: Overlooked that the same video was posted on a different post, missed the link when scrolling through earlier.
  17. Does the colour of the slides really mean that much anyway? I agree, the colour scheme overall has been up and down and some choices haven't been the best, but it doesn't look that bad to me. Definitely unique and stands out, I guess.
  18. That could be the end decision now that I think of it... Still in planning at the moment so that is definitely an option. To be honest I never actually thought of Universal.
  19. I'm only 20 and going with my parents, but don't really care for missing out on drinking and all that (I'll just save that for a future trip to vegas). I think we're spending about 10 days or so in anaheim. Not sure about accomodation yet, I think one of the places we were looking at were within walking distance of Disneyland. I know we are most likely going to do trips up to LA and a few other places. Looking at doing Disneyland mainly and possibly a day at Knotts Berry Farm. Mainly just want to know what sort of suggestions you guys have as to how busy it is that time of year and just some basic tips on surviving a first trip to Disneyland (because I know that some people go without looking into it and miss out on stuff).
  20. I'm heading to America for a holiday in January/Feburary next year and going to Disneyland and knotts berry farm. Any tips for a first time visit to the area/parks?
  21. Taken from IMDb "Notorious killer whale Tilikum is responsible for the deaths of three individuals, including a top killer whale trainer. Blackfish shows the sometimes devastating consequences of keeping such intelligent and sentient creatures in captivity." So I'm guessing people are annoyed at how the whales were treated.
  22. Just looked on the WnWGC site, and it says theirs is 17m tall. And to me, just by looking at pictures (since I haven't been to WnW since before it existed), this sydney version does look smaller, both in height and the loop (could be perspective of the photo, or I'm crazy).
  23. F3 isn't too bad, I do the trip a few times a year from Newcastle - Sydney, it's about an hour and a half to the end of the F3 and another half hour approximately to the M5/prospect. I'll probably make it a week long venture to Sydney when schools go back to hit up WnW and just stay in a hotel somewhere nearby.
  24. Wet 'n' Wild Sydney on the front page of news.com.au today http://www.news.com.au/travel/australia/the-wests-wildest-wet-ride/story-e6frfq89-1226681683737
  25. Newcastle would be a good location (not just saying that because I live there). While I will still make the trek to sydney for WnW, there are a few locations in Newcastle that a water park could be placed (any theme park actually, not just a water park). The hunter region needs to start thinking of things other than the mines, and theme parks could improve the tourism rates to the area.
