Given Dreamworld's clever signs reminding the guest of a ride closure due to maintenance (see below image), how do we think they'll advertise their temporary closure of Steel Taipan?
A short 5 minute brainstorm led me to the following:
We've temporarily slithered into brumation. We'll be striking again sssoon.

A new TVC is out too featuring pass options and ST/Spring Event and the spinning car.
Very well done.
For those who haven't gotten around to viewing it, the 30 second version of the Spring County fair ad is on BigDatr now...
Note the 15 second version was uploaded before.

That's unfortunate. Still fuming over that incident but hope to see it operational again soon...

They could remove that boardwall mess with an LED screen a third of its size...

If only I waited an extra month before repurchasing my Annual Pass, I could've gotten in on this deal... 💀

Of all things, rocks?!
I mean, it does fit well with the ride next door...

Do you think the staff will have themed uniforms? And what Steel Taipan merchandise do you think Dreamworld will sell?
mmmm their is not exit through the gift shop?
A themed uniform would be cool.
Steel Taipan merchandise would probs be a snake soft toy, or Kenny and Belinda in some outback outfit/themed uniform (should ride staff wear one).
Given Rivals doesn't have an exit through a gift shop, Taipan having one won't be necessary.

Expect that announcement either at the very end or sometime next year
Legally cannot tell you too apparently

Ive seen it mentioned before that you run this Ourworlds YouTube channel don’t you?
If so, you have done a great job combining the two released pov’s. I assume that’s why you have plastered it with the Ourworlds logo everywhere?
But hey, at least there's no music on it.

I wonder how many years Gold Coaster has left in it...
-
Highly unlikely, given there's no more mesh to go in place now. I assume they'll add more flora to the site.

Here's an update from this afternoon. ST was testing frequently so was able to get some decent footage!
Another angle of the sign; looks like the rockwork is shaped so you can sit underneath it:
Inspired by a certain other coaster's signage perhaps?
Buzzsaw getting cleared may open up a potential viewing area of the launch. I'd also like to see some audio tied to it, similar to what they're doing with the Road Runner Refurb.

Also, is it unlikely we'll see the construction of the entrance signage seen in the first tender image?
After watching the first 25 seconds of @OgreMagic's video, it appears they do sound a horn before a test run...

I have no doubt this will be a good ride presented well.
But what I see in this video (if I ignore the weird glitches) is a ride that seems awkwardly paced, not that thrilling, and a whole heap of unfinished construction, back of house views, and ugly plant like all the Sky Voyager A/C units.
I don’t know why you’d want that release instead of waiting till you can have something a bit more polished to present. It’s one of their biggest additions ever and I don’t think that particular video does anything to entice me to go ride it.
Energylandia did it well with Abyssus?
Also, I do understand where all parties are coming from in terms of this discussion, but honestly... Not that it means anything to anyone, or would anyone care, but still not a fan...
The horizon levelling is what makes the POV not as good as it potentially could've. For me, it takes the excitement out of the inversions - as for what @Slick wrote earlier, makes it look really jarring.
It's a love-hate relationship... But in all fairness, the positives do outweigh the negatives.
It ticks the boxes for a great pov:
- Smooth (to an extent) ✔️
- Good sound ✔️
- Clear quality ✔️
-
Hope they re-film that... Even the general public will think it's bad.

At this point, I prefer Rivals shakey pov

Either expecting a POV or some other media regarding its first ever run...
-
Anyone think there'll be a chance of this happening on Taipan?
-
I'd love to see either FlyOver Canada or FlyOver Iceland...
-
I understand we're still a long way off, but I'm really looking forward to the real-life POV of this ride. Just hope the camera is mounted FIRMLY and close to the track (unlike the POV for Rivals). Would really help give viewers a sense of speed, thrill and adrenaline this ride should provide...

oops i meant the first ever cycle...
But the second part to that message would say when (if everything's on track to begin)
-
Testing should start sometime this week...
However, a little birdy told me that Steel Taipan is scheduled to make its first ever cycle today...
-
Those orange things right? And I'd say that small piece of rockwork was a "practice" one, coz I've seen it sitting there for quite a few weeks now...

I get sick looking at it...
Mr Taipan seems to agree.
