Also, it's good to hear from you again @Coasterlife

  2. I'm loving the idea of F&B outlets being located around Steel Taipan... Maybe they'll put a small shop there for the purchase of the Spinning Seat experience?

If not, I wouldn't know if it were possible but, would they be able to use Buzzsaw's land and add a ride that extends into the Blue Lagoon area? Maybe share it with whatever future ride (I hope) utilises the Log Ride's land?

But then you're starting to get close to White Christmas and marketing for that.

If the "big announcement" doesn't come during FN marketing, and not during WC marketing... Maybe they'll announce it sometime when Heroes and Villains is on...

Sources did say an announcement would be at the end of the year - but that could mean anywhere from now to the summer holidays.

highly doubt this'll be the case, but would you think they would do what Dreamworld do and include some small snippet of an upcoming attraction during their marketing campaigns focused around events? Like how Steel Taipan slithered its way into Dreamworld's Easter Holidays or Winterfest ads?

    Below videos from BigDatr?

  4. Given that Hooray for Hollywood has wrapped up, it's fair to say that "Big announcement" is imminent. Maybe we'll see Fright Nights part of that announcement too (just to put it out there and highlight to the GP that it's returning this year).

Expect the new ride and the not-so-secret hotel to be announced

  5. After viewing the video, it does appear that the accident occured in an area "mid-ride" with the absence of a conveyor belt. It's sad to watch like what @ejpdtd said, and that it makes it even worse to know that the situation is beyond the guest's control. The riders on the passing raft couldn't do anything but sit and watch, the riders on the upturned raft helplessly trying hard to do whatever they were trying to do.

It's hard to comprehend how that accident could've happened, seeing that the area was relatively calm, mild or somewhat gentle (I've never been on a river rapids ride myself, so I cannot judge on what the experience through an area like that would be like).

Just hope the families affected, the park, investigators and other important figures reach a conclusion and find the answers they are looking for and are somewhat able to consign something to the past (I understand it'll be hard to).

Wishing the grieving family the warmest hugs, thoughts and prayers, and that their son rests ever so peacefully.

  6. According to the NSW Govt. Website, these are the only reasonable excuses to leave home:

    Quote

    Reasonable excuse to leave home

A reasonable excuse is if you need to

    • obtain food or other goods and services
      • for the personal needs of the household or for other household purposes (including pets)
      • for vulnerable people
      • if the food or goods and services are not available in the local government area that you live in
    • travel for work or education if it is not possible to do it at home
    • exercise and take outdoor recreation in Greater Sydney
    • go out for medical or caring reasons, including obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination
    • donate blood
    • access childcare
    • continue existing arrangements for access to, and contact between, parents and children
    • attend a funeral
    • provide care or assistance (including personal care) to a vulnerable person or to provide emergency assistance
    • access social services, employment services, services provided to victims (including as victims of crime), domestic violence services, and mental health services
    • move to a new place of residence, or between your different places of residence
    • undertake legal obligations
    • avoid injury or illness or to escape the risk of harm
    • in case of emergencies
    • for compassionate reasons, including where two people are in a relationship but do not necessarily live together
    • to provide pastoral care if you are a priest, minister of religion or member of a religious order.

Taking a holiday is not a reasonable excuse.

    Stay at home rules

You must stay home. Only leave your home if you have a reasonable excuse.

If you must leave home, stay within your local area. Do not travel outside your local area if you can avoid it.

Reduce movement and mingling between households. Restrictions on visitors to a residence have changed.

From 6pm on Saturday 26 June, the stay at home direction applies to people who live in, usually work in, or usually attend a university or other tertiary education facility in Greater Sydney including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour local government areas until 11:59pm on Friday 16 July 2021.

A 68-year-old park employee fell onto a conveyor belt and suffered a fatal head injury in 2016. Iowa’s health and safety regulator fined the park a maximum penalty of $4,500 for the incident.

That $4,500 fine seems a little reasonable for that event, but for the Thunder River Rapids-like incident, I assume there'll be an even heavier fine.
