Being made in Nerang? Where did you get that info from?
-
Can you describe the track?
-
Nothing has really been announced yet, but I actually am betting on the former since the park has some pretty original things. Their spinning coaster and rapids ride have raised the bar a bit and have used new never before seen elements.
-
So that explains it, thanks Belgian. Seems a little wierd, hopefully they may decide to change it.
-
Yeah, it sort of blocks the whole buildings facade off, i personally would have put it beside the daily planet building on the smaller one beside it.

http://www.rcdb.com/id3117.htm A new ride which has caught my eye is a yet to be named B&M invert for Phantasialand in Germany. Im really looking foward to seeing how this ride turns out. Phantasialand is a small park completley surrounded (like Tivoli Gardens) so it would be interesting to see how they fit it in, Im a big fan of compact rides, so this should be cool. Also, going by the parks other rides, the themeing should be good, just have a look at another one of their coasters such as Colorado Adventure: The Michael Jackson Thrill Ride http://www.rcdb.com/ig978.htm?picture=2 and Winjas http://www.rcdb.com/ig1235.htm?picture=7

Ah yes, cash bonanza, the show was all just retirees competing, probably because the way you got on the show was with this scratch lotto ticket.
-
Thet are still building it, but I imagine the admission price will be higher.
-
In my opinion $60 million is too much, especially since the ride will only be able to carry around 924 pp/h, thats less than many major roller coasters. For $60 million a small amusment park could be built, featuring some quality rides, Superman at MW is costing just $12 million so you could have a park with a major coaster and still have 80% of your budget to spare. Im not to sure how the attraction will go up against the Rialto oberservation deck and the upcoming Eureka tower. Rialtos admission price is a little over half that of what they are planning to charge for a ride on the wheel, Rialto has sight and sound show, and It offers better views than what what the wheel will give (half of what you see will be the port). An Amusement park could also charge people more than what they are charging for a single ride. Still, if ING like the idea then good luck to them.$60m wheel of misfortune Herald Sun Jeremy Kelly 30/3/05 THE cost of a giant ferris wheel planned for Docklands has blown out by $20 million and will not be ready for the Commonwealth Games. The 120m structure is set to cost $60 million and will not be finished until at least late 2007. Another woe is the failure to attract a naming rights sponsor for the Southern Star Observation Wheel. The wheel, which will have 21 pods each holding up to 22 people, will be at the northern end of the Waterfront City development at the Docklands. Each ride will last about 25 minutes. Tickets will cost up to $25. The developers of the 19ha project, which will include restaurants, shops and housing, had said the wheel would be a viewing platform for some of the Commonwealth Games sports to be held at Docklands next year. But Mark Broomfield, managing director for Waterfront City developer ING Real Estate, said yesterday it would not be ready until at least November 2007. He attributed the $20 million blowout to a more complicated design and the rising cost of steel. He denied there were doubts that the wheel would be built. "We are very committed to it," Mr Broomfield said. "We see it as a very important part of creating the entertainment precinct." He said he was involved in negotiations with several national and international companies over a sponsorship deal, but he declined to name them. Opposition major projects spokeswoman Louise Asher said the wheel would be an eyesore and inappropriate for Melbourne. "Melbourne is a city of style and class and I don't think this is the best thing for it," she said. A spokesman for Major Projects Minister John Lenders said the Government would not help finance the ferris wheel. In a parliamentary report submitted after a European trip in 2002, then planning minister Mary Delahunty described London's giant wheel The Eye as "spectacular on a sunny, balmy evening" but it was "not for Melbourne". She said a city needed spectacular tourist attractions such as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben for the wheel to work. -
It doesn't have to be that high if its going to reach 100 kph since Rita at AT only reaches a height of 30m. The height doesnt really bother me much since Accelerators look good at any height.

A dive machine would be cool, but they are very expensive for what they are. Id like to see an invert or a floorless coaster, both good rides and they are B&Ms two most popular products, so they must be doing something right. Any sort of Intamin coaster would be good too. In terms of a water ride, prehaps just one with a huge drop as the main feature so DW could advertise it as being the highest in Australia.
-
I dont know If DW would get the sales rates to support multiple chain outlets.
-
Pretty Good, I havent played the GC version yet though. The stylus is cool for playing, but some games are too similar. Im now looking foward to Twisted which is coming out in May.
-
Hmm, White water West, Proslide, AWL thats 3 so far. As for a coaster, they should get a Wiegand alpine coaster (www.wiegandslide.com), its like a bobsled ride, but with a fixed track instead of a channel so you can safley go faster. As far as the "mammoth" style ride, theres really only one company around that makes them isn't there? -
Lol Neb, i gotta make up a list like that to try on carnies who try to get me to play their rigged games. "Im Allergic", now thats a good one.
-
The ride could work by fully reading the song and calulating the movements before the ride is started, it wouldnt be done on the fly.
-
I think it would be cool if they made a simulator where the ride track shown on screen and the motion were generated by music in a similar way to the how the patterns are generated in windows media player 9.
-
Well, the GC may supposedly be warmer, but just because its warmer, it doesnt mean that Sydney is cold. I mean, both places have good climates, its just that the GC is supposedly a bit sunnier.

I recentley got WarioWare Touched and really enjoyed it, and it got me thinking of other mini games for it. Post some of your ideas here. Some of mine: Chewing the fat: rub the stylus up and down to make a jaw chew on a piece of food. Spin Sickness: move the stylus in a circular motion to make a carnival ride spin, and make a vomit gauge fill. Toilet Panic: There is a row of cubicles, tap an empty one when it comes avaliable to make a guy rush in. Stompers: You get a top down view of three conveyor belts with a stomper on each one. items come down and you have to hit the stomper to squash it. Tetris Rotation: Move the stylus in a circular motion to rotate the tetris brick the right way so it cleas a line. Coaster construction: You are presented with a partialy built section of coaster track, draw lines between each segment to finish it. Record Rotator: A record will spin on a turntable in a certain pattern, you then have to copy the pattern it spins in.. Tornado: Blow into the microphone to make a tornado destroy a building. Lucky Lotto: Scratch a lotto ticket quickly to reveal a prize. Drop 'n' sort: coloured balls will drop down the screen onto a see saw with a bucket on each side. move the stylus to tilt the see saw the right way so the items fall in. Anyone got any other ideas?

But Sydney is sunny.
-
MattCrombie, why does weather dictate whether a theme park can get built, Anywhere in Australia has weather suitable for a theme park, and there is virtualy nowhere where it is too cold for one. Going by your logic, the UK shouldn't have any theme parks because it snows there and its overcast most of the time.
-
Ill do some updates when work starts on the Southen Star since thats basically across the road from where we park when I go to the footy on the weekend.
-
So what are the other two things you mention.
-
Well Zordy, you got your wish since more land is avaliable, so we can all sleep easy.
Unkown Coaster Tracks on truck

Ill be keeping an eye out since the trucks may come through my town since Shepparton is along one of the main Melbourne to Brisbane routes. They could be going along the princess hwy to melbourne, then up the hume hwy, then up the GV hwy and onto the Newell hwy. Another thing to note, I couldn't find any steel fabricators based in Nerang on www.yellowpages.com.au.
