  1. Surely you cannot be serious. Have you read any of these forums? If you had you would know that no one (no one who posts anyway) would be in a position to buy either or both of those attractions. In the two threads about this topic you have come across as a no-nonsense person who wants to sell a couple of attractions, so why would you bother wasting your own time posting the ad here? 2. The majority of the rides that were open at the end could only be operated in automatic. The only exception to this was Bush Beast. Due to a problem with the PLC the ride could only be operated in manual for the last couple of months. Any other rides that could be operated in manual could only be done so by maintenance and the supervisors as the general operators were not trained to do so. Signal 61 means all rides closed. It was only used at the end of the day. Signal 61 was used all the time though but it was followed by Alpha (ride breakdown, no guests), Bravo (protein spill), Charlie (ride breakdown, guest on board), Delta (bad weather) and then the ride name or code number. 3. I said the main reason was to protect the ride not the only reason. Rider safety was a big factor but not the main one (except for wind at Bush Beast), lightening is completely different. Alex, if there was a Charlie it would be well under 10 minutes for maintenance and supervisors to arrive. But that is just me being pedantic. Anyway 30 minutes, in my mind, is too short a time frame for emergency service to be called in for something that is really minor. Once it is getting on for 60 minutes management would start looking at that option. The park is now a signal 61. "The Bus is now leaving for Roaring Wind Mountain, NSW"
  4. If this is the incident I am thinking about, Wonderland was taken to court over it. The woman claimed 'emotional distress' after being stuck on the ride. If the woman had just sat there and enjoyed the view everything would have been ok but she started freaking out within 15 minutes of the ride stopping, this caused her children to freak out with inflamed her emotional state. Can you tell me what could have been done to rectify this any quicker than it was. Not much as a Charlie was a higher level than a Delta. Seriously nothing would have happened anyway because what happens in a Delta? The ride is shut down. What happens during a Charlie? The ride is shut down. The main reason SkyRider was closed during high winds was the same reason a cabin would be closed on Space Probe, and that reason is to protect the cables of the ride. Ok here is what would have happened if the emergency services were called. The ride would have been Charlied for 30-45 minutes and all attempts to start it up again had failed. Authorities are contacted. Parts of the park would be evacuated so the appliances could access the ride. Authorities turn up and take 15-20 minutes to evacuate each gondola. Now add up all that time and tell me how long the people in the last gondola will be waiting. "The Bus is now leaving for Delta Downs, Queensland"
  5. Boolean is the same thing too. Anyway back to the subject, the fact of the matter is that due to cost cutting with the parks budget the first thing to go is 'non essential' maintenance, which unfortunately means that it will cost more to fix in the long term. It a strange thing and I have seen it at every workplace, managers don't like spending money and therefore don't if they can avoid it but when the **** hits the fan and something needs urgent attention it costs them way more than it would have if they had spent a little on smaller fixes. "The Bus is now leaving for Fixters Creek, Tasmania"
  6. What do you propose they do with the tip? Even if they close it, it will still be several years before they can cover it with fill so the stench will continue until then. "The Bus is now leaving for Smellys Creek, Victoria"
  7. If you read the second half of that post it says, "I also heard that there is a secret room where one house mate lives while their double is in the house, what a load of crap that is." Now this was something that was true and I was being sarcastic in both parts of my post. As for the 'bus thing' I always type, I have to have a destination or I wouldn't be a Bus now would I? "The Bus is now leaving for Mount Obvious, Tasmania"
  8. Being an ex-employee I have never said that the place was perfect but it was far from being as bad as some people who have absolutely no idea what went on behind the scenes think or have been told. Dragons was a very unexpected shut down. The ride was down for annual when they discovered the crack in the mast. Obviously they couldn't continue to operate the ride so it was closed. What I find funny about that is they packed up the whole ride, cracked mast and all and shipped it to Malaysia. "The Bus is now leaving for Crackneck Point, NSW"
  9. The parent company is Coles Myer. "The Bus is now leaving for Old Company Mine, Northern Territory"
  10. 'Dinosaur' foot prints. From memory they were originally yellow. From memory it was the 99-00 school holidays. For the Fred Flintstone promotion they had when the Flintstone’s in Vegas movie came out. There was an area opposite the Galaxy Theatre that had a heap of memorabilia from the movie. Model T Fords? No ficken idea. More than 1 and less than 10 is my guess and I have no idea what they were called. "The Bus is now leaving for Flintstone, Tasmania"
  11. Yet you continue to insist that the Wonderland site should be re-born a theme park. If it is all that bad, which it could be sometimes, especially when a southerly was blowing and it had just rained, why would you want kids anywhere near that area? I think you have just outlined one of the best reasons for the Wonderland site to become something completely different. "The Bus is now leaving for Borny Dam, Western Australia"
  12. Read the rest of that post and I think you will see where I was coming from. If you are under 20 you are in with a very good chance of that happening. "The Bus is now leaving for The Wedding Cake, NSW"
  13. The last annual maintenance it undertook it still going. To begin with everyone was told it was closed for annual but it never came back. "The Bus is now leaving for Close Well, Western Australia"
  14. I find it very hard to believe that it would have taken them 90 minutes to contact emergency services. 30 minutes I could understand but any longer is out of the ordinary. Operational staff would have realised within 30 minutes that it was going to require outside help to rectify the situation. Outside of that the parents of the kids on the ride would have called emergency services if it was taking too long and they felt the staff were not doing enough to get them off quickly. "The Bus is now leaving for Ararat State Emergency Service, Victoria"
  15. Buzzzzz wrong. Ding Ding Ding we have a winner. It was one of the builders of the ride who died. "The Bus is now leaving for Ding A Ding, Victoria"
  16. Well done Sleuth. "The Bus is now leaving for Super Tubes, Western Australia"
  17. The information I got after the park closed was that Taz was possibly going to Victoria to become a trailer ride. I guess it is possible for it to be converted but I think it is highly unlikely that it ever was or ever will be. "The Bus is now leaving for Trailers Lake, NSW"
  18. There is another one that hasn't been mentioned and anyone that still works there will know about. It is not in it's original positions nor is it in one piece. That was very careless of you. Next time I suggest looking where you are going. It is correct that Bounty's went to Sunway as did Dragon's but I haven't looked at their site recently to see if it is listed yet. "The Bus is now leaving for Careless Point, NSW"
  19. I am really looking forward to seeing a huge Coles warehouse on the site. If anyone is not sure of how big this place is going to be take a trip out west along the M4, just before you get to Roper Road there is a building on the right that has a big Woolworths sign on it. That is roughly the size it is going to be. For those of you who don't live in Sydney or do but are scared of the western suburbs the building is about 15 stories high. "The Bus is now leaving for Colesmore, Queensland"
  20. Nobody has answered my question yet. "The Bus is now leaving for Answer Downs, Queensland"
  21. Maybe that was how it was supposed to be but towards the end (last 6-12 months) it was rarely before 7am. "The Bus is now leaving for Far End, South Australia"
  22. There is another ride still on site. Do you know what it is? And I am not talking about The Beach. "The Bus is now leaving for Kangaroo Bluff Historic Site, Tasmania"
  23. Besides the point that that area is a camera it is definitely a bowling alley. Seriously that is one of the worst rumours I have heard. I also heard that there is a secret room where one house mate lives while their double is in the house, what a load of crap that is. "The Bus is now leaving for Bowling Alley Point, NSW"
  24. That's exactly how they are going to build the ride too. I also heard they were using Clag glue. "The Bus is now leaving for Clagger Gully, NSW"
  25. I would say that it will be some time (months) before they start erecting any part of the ride (supports/track, etc.) They will have a load of work to do that will look like "just a hole in the ground" and this will go on for some time. After all you can't just slap something together and hope for the best, construction just doesn't work like that. "The Bus is now leaving for New Buildings, NSW"
