  3. I was flicking through the Movie World website but when i got to the employment page i found 1 of the attractions. It's called "Mid-Way Games", opens September and you can guess the rest. Can someone confirm if this is right and where it's going to be located. Not that exciting, isn't it?

  6. Hi, i don'nt know if you have the press release yet but, oh well. It sounds like it will also do a museum as well. It is in this paragraph- “We want to showcase Australian motorbike racing history and celebrate its victories, milestones and most importantly, its legends through theming, memorabilia and our Hall of Fame.” Friday, 27 July 2007 MEDIA RELEASE Mick Doohan’s Motocoaster Revealed Ladies and Gentlemen Start Your Engines! Dreamworld is “Doohan” it like it’s never been done before and is getting set to take motobike racing to the skies. In September 2007, Dreamworld will launch the hottest thrill ride to hit the coast this decade pushing adrenaline junkies to a brand new level. The park has teamed up with one of the greatest names in motorbike racing history to bring the thrill and exhilaration of moto racing magic to the masses. Five time, 500cc World Champion and World Record Holder, Mick Doohan will launch his very own thrill ride at Dreamworld this year allowing guests to get behind the handlebars on a circuit that has to be seen to be believed. “I’m extremely proud to be associated with a great Australian icon working on a venture that celebrates and pays respect to a great Australian sport and its achievements,” Mick Doohan said. Mick Doohan’s Motocoaster features a fast, fluid track with breath taking changes in elevation, high speed corners and plenty of quick left handers. It’s a motorbike rollercoaster, the first of its kind in Australia and the only motocoaster in the world featuring life-size replicas of 500cc racing bikes. The news has created a real buzz in the motoracing industry with Honda already signing up as the first official sponsor. The bikes launch from the starting line and will reach speeds of just over 72 km per hour. The tight, 605 metre track is made up of 18 banks, bends and turns placing emphasis on last- gasp braking and plenty of open throttle. The track is built low to the ground to provide a great sensation of speed and movement and riders are held in by a unique restraint system that creates an incredible feeling of freedom and exhilaration. Each train is made up of 14 custom-made motorbikes and 2 aero-dynamically profiled, purpose built sidecars designed specifically for the pint-sized, thrill ride enthusiast or those looking for a more relaxed ride. Dreamworld and WhiteWater World Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Gregg said the new ride was designed to be a shared experience the whole family could enjoy. “We want to showcase Australian motorbike racing history and celebrate its victories, milestones and most importantly, its legends through theming, memorabilia and our Hall of Fame.” “This new attraction shows Dreamworld’s commitment to introducing cutting-edge ride technology and new experiences to the Australian market and will complement the park’s existing suite of scream machines including the Giant Drop, Tower of Terror, Cyclone Rollercoaster, Wipeout and The Claw,” he said. “Mick Doohan’s Motocoaster will be a great escape to adrenaline, fun, excitement and anticipation and will give riders a sense of accomplishment and freedom like never before.” “It underpins Dreamworld’s positioning as the ‘Australian theme park’ celebrating our unique Australian culture and its heroes,” Mr Gregg said. Mick Doohan’s Motocoaster will be located in River Town on the old Vintage Cars site, the Dreamworld classic relocated to make way for Dreamworld’s new multi million dollar, moto-monster. Get ready for hard acceleration as Dreamworld blasts further up the thrill ride ladder with Mick Doohan’s massive Motocoaster this September.
  7. It is located north of the Carousel, west of Cartoon Network Cartoon Beach, south of the Viking's Revenge Flume Ride and east of The Plaza eating and shopping area (the old Pirate Ship location).
  8. Off the Sea World Website - "Seals at Play will be permanently closed from 9 July 2007 to make way for an exciting new attraction." I think they must be building the awaited "Seal Rocks" at the old thrillseeker site (unless the Sea World Eye is not closed, i'm not sure). If not, it must the new penguin exhibit or some unknown ride/attraction.
  9. New info on Taipan - 4 4m high giant red snake heads to be put up at the entry & exits of ride tunnels - 2 3m wide tubular water slides - 2500 to 5000 people per hour - New second slide - It's equivalent to putting the park's 4 most popular rides together - Steeper acceleration lanes have been added along with a tighter radius on the turns - Conveyor to bring rafts to top - 8 shaded huts to be built for guest's comfort - Sand stone wall behind the ride to be 6m high & 80m long. On Monday i'll try to post the confirmed plan of the ride & it's logo.
  10. The park was a very small park until the expansion is complete. Compare Dreamworld & Jamberoo on google earth /maps, you can see it is small. The queues are very long, because of the small amount of rides. They are building another one i think to decrease ride waiting times.
  11. Rapid River is a ride already open at Jamberoo. These are for plans to expand the park, sso they want to build another lazy river. I got this info by emailing Jamberoo. This is not going to like Mammoth Falls, because they are currently building a DARK MAMMOTH called "The Taipan". It will not be a ride like Thunder River Rapids because they want to expand as a water park.
  12. The Giant Rapid River is going to be THE WORLD'S LARGEST RIVER RAPIDS RIDE!
  13. The New Rides are as follows: - The Taipan - Giant Rapid River - Rocket Coaster - Giant Tornado - Behemoth Bowl - Octopus Racer *These may subject to change
  14. Jamberoo Action Park has unveiled its plan to expand, which would make it one of Australia's leading theme parks. The multi million dollar, ten year plan includes NEW world class rides and a boost in local jobs. Jamberoo Action Park made a splash with its new wave pool. Its about to make a bigger splash. Work on The Taipan has started. When its finished, this ride will be the latest in family water action where two and a half thousand people are hurtled in tubes down two massive waterslides. This project is just the start. Jamberoo Action park has unveiled its ten year plan to build six new rides. Jamberoo Action Park is the largest theme park in the state - the expansion will put it in the same league as theme parks on the Gold Coast - a definite boost for the region's economy. The project is expected to cost at least twenty four million dollars. The State Government is providing funding for road upgrades and electricity infrastructure. The theme park's major extension will create dozens of jobs - attracting mostly young people. It will be kind to the environment. Source: WIN TV The Taipan is in the digging stage. One of the 6 rides are the water roller-coaster.
  15. I think it used to be an Ned kelly stunt show cause on the ride you can see a house similar to Ned Kelly's
  16. When i went to WWW the waves were small but i wish they could actually switch on the highest mode so we can actually bodyboard on the them. The waves at jamberoo can reach to the top of the wall with the cafe on it with a little splash
  17. the big banana has closed it old plantation tour train ride with a new theatre presentation (2), walking plantation tour, exhibition/games room, packing shed. upgraded ticket booth, shop, cafe and big things map. snow slope closed since july last year! staff said they are going to build big WATER park near the old packing shed & bunyip section/ train ride (northern side of park). construction on that begins soon (water park)
  18. A company called Tic Tacs well i think is proposing to build a theme park in the wollogong town of Port Kembla. For all i know i will include at the town's cliffside, seaside local pool an array of waterslides heaps of them and steep. A street will have a wild west theme. The infamous chimney stack will have a proposed clock on top of it. A putt putt centre will be included. What are your thoughts? All the info was heard on the local news.
  19. Just the poll question above. I personally think Jamberoo's is the best cause the waves are that big they can splash onto the cafe deck above, even the best swimmer like me can not tread water that good in them. It can also produce different types wave in different directions. WWW is crap. Wet 'n' Wild's is fairly good you can tread water in that one.
  20. They could just replace the Looney Tunes Musical Revue in the show stage with a Happy Feet Dance & Sing-A-Long Show.
  21. it's like the mega drop at travelling shows except the mega drop doesn't have a upwards launch. The Mega Drop has a drop speed of 204km/h on a 45-metre high tower. It takes 3 seconds to drop. When you're on the ride you feel a very fast speed straight away but when your're the Giant Drop you feel going faster. It's just launched freefall. If anyone one's confused just try and pretend your on the GD and MD.
