  1. Zamperla rides are better of being travelling rides in my opinion. Not even their rollercoasters would cut it being permanent in LPS. They are fun, though. Perhaps if Australia were to get its first Zamperla Disco Coaster, it could make its debut in LPS and then after its temporary stay will be seen in various carnivals and shows. I don't understand what people got against having classic carnival rides as permanent rides in LPS. It's supposed to be a carnival-themed amusement park. Why else would they have carnival rides such as the Spider (Breakdance) and Ranger? I think Dominator and Claw are perfect additions, and even maybe a Freak Out (I'm a huge fan of KMG rides). A Chance Chaos should be added, too. This is my dream assortment of rides for LPS. The Midway rides are the Rotor, Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Flying Saucer, Tango, Dominator, Wild Mouse, Tumblebug and Dodgem Cars. The Maloney's Corner rides will be Ranger, Spider, Dragon's Rage (Maurer Sohne rollercoaster), Chaos, Claw, Rainbow, Kickdown (KMG Freak Out), and of course, LPS's Kiddy rides. Hopefully there would be room for a drop tower ride. Maybe by extending Maloney's Corner they will have room for adding a couple of permanent rides, and will still be able to house in some of our old favourites as temporary ones. They should also decorate it up a bit so it won't just look like a carpark full of rides. That's just my idea. BTW, if anyone else has thought of another name for the Maurer Sohne coaster apart from Dragon's Rage, feel free to share it. If anyone is wondering why I didn't include Coney Island Funny Land, it just doesn't count. It's only a funhouse and sorta bridges between the Midway and Maloney's Corner. I'm just aiming at the flat rides and rollercoaster LPS can offer.
  2. I think I should have put in BTW instead of FTW when I was referring to having an extra midway ride, since it should've been an added bonus. Good ideas for LPS are coming up each time. Still don't know which building roof or spot would be a good place for a Gyro Drop.
  3. I picked the other discussion by mistake. This was the one I was looking for. Anyway, what do you think of my idea for Dreamworld?
  4. I'm thinking of two new rollercoasters: One would be a B&M coaster, and the other would be a stratacoaster, like Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka. Add an S&S Screamin Swing or Sky Swat (maybe both! ). I think Wipeout should have its model replaced for a Huss Giant Top Spin. It's totally humungous! Plus, it would have fountains that will soak the riders as they lower facefirst towards the fountains. How's that for exciting! I haven't been to Dreamworld yet, but I heard good stuff about it, and I'm planning to go there during the Summer holidays.
  5. I would like to see Australia get its first B&M rollercoaster. I would also like Dreamworld to get a stratocoaster, you know, like Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka. Maybe an S&S Screamin' Swing or Sky Swat would make a perfect addition for Dreamworld. They could even upgrade Wipeout by replacing the curret model (Vekoma Wakiki Wave Super Flip) or a bigger model (Huss Giant Top Spin). I haven't been to Dreamworld yet, but I heard tons of good stuff about it. I wish Sydney had such fantastic amusement parks as the Gold Coast.
  6. Where do you think a drop tower ride would be placed at? What building roof are your referring to? If it is going be a LPS ride, it should be placed in a spot where people could get a good view of the harbor while they're up high. As Spotty thinks, anything exceeding the height of a Huss Rainbow won't be a permanent ride for LPS. Anyway, I'd like the idea of a drop tower ride in LPS. Gazza believes the Gyro Drop would be a good choice. I also like Spotty's idea of moving the Ranger and Spider to another spot in Maloney's Corner if they are to have a Maurer Söhne / Xtended SC 2000 coaster. Does anyone think Dragon's Rage would be a good name for it? With these new changes, there will be room for three more flat rides in Maloney's Corner (I still believe Rainbow, Claw, and Chaos are the best choices). FTW, there's also room for one more flat ride in the midway, right at that spare space near the Wild Mouse. A KMG Dominator would do in my opinion.
  7. Wow Spotty, that coaster you suggested looks super awesome. It looks much more thrilling than Wild Mouse. Hey, it's a spinning coaster! If Big Dipper seemed a bit repetative for a name, maybe something like Dragon's Fury would do. I dunno what else to call it, and it kinda looks like the coaster from Chessington's. For the other rides, Rainbow, Claw, Chaos, and Dominator would fit. If drop towers seemed too big to fit in Luna Park, then I guess we won't see anymore giant rides in LPS. It was meant to be a park with carnival rides anyway.
  8. Cool. If LPS were to have a Vekoma Boomerang coaster, what could they name it? Too many of them named Boomerang in my opinion. Maybe Big Dipper 3? It could fit if they expand Maloney's Corner a fair bit. They have all the rights since they are immune to the noise level protests. By the way, someone in LPS ought to buy the ex-travelling rides Chaos and Claw. Don't be too surprised if I mentioned them in my last postings. I've never ridden them before, and I want to get a chance to ride them. Future ideas for more rides at LPS (if possible) - Have a newly constructed Dominator for the park (set as a midway ride). - Provide a bigger rollercoaster apart from Wild Mouse (if they expand Maloney's Corner, a Vekoma Boomerang would fit). - Purchase the ex-travelling rides Chaos and Claw giving them permanent spots in Luna Park (Possible future Maloney's Corner rides). - Add a drop tower ride (Gyro Drop or something like that) - Purchase a Rainbow being sold anywhere (Possible future Maloney's Corner ride). - Advertise having big thrill rides in their brochure and website (Dominator, Big Dipper 3 and Gyro Drop will be known as Three Thrills). That's pretty much the only ideas I could think off. Three Thrills. Get it? It rolls of the tongue, doesn't it?
  9. Just thought of something. I may be a fan of travelling carnival rides, but I do like big rollercoasters. If any other rollercoaster is too big to fit in Luna Park, then I was wondering. Does anyone think a Vekoma Boomerang coaster would fit in Luna Park Sydney? It may be a fairly small coaster, medium-sized in my opinion, but it at least gives riders that adrenalin rush. Propelled through the tracks doing three loops, and then three loops back, making six inversions in total. What does anyone think? A bigger and scarier coaster to choose from apart from the Wild Mouse.
  10. The Claw and Chaos are awesome rides. Luna Park ought to buy 'em before someone else does if they're not gonna be travelling rides in Australia anymore. I'm trying to gather support in regards to that because if they get sold, we might never see them again. Good to know that the Rainbow hasn't been scrapped down. I would be outraged if they did. That's one of my most favourite rides. Let's hope it will be back next year.
  11. I just found out from Spotty that Durkin's rides Claw and Chaos are on sale now. Since he doubts they will ever continue being travelling flat rides, Luna Park ought to buy them before someone else does. I know a lot of you think that Luna Park was supposed to be a theme park, but yeah, cadboy's got some points there. Theme parks are large and spacious, while carnivals are compact parks which will always focus on flats rides, and Luna Park seems to be more of a carnival-styled amusement park. In conclusion, I think someone ought to inform our friends at Luna Park about this golden opportunity if we want to keep those rides here in Australia. If anyone disagrees, I urge you remember Wonderland's best rides that left Australia forever since it closed down all those years ago. It could happen to Claw and Chaos if we don't act fast.
  12. So Claw and Chaos will never be seen at the Easter Show ever again? Major bummer. I really want to ride them. Will they ever set foot on Sydney, though? If they are on sale, Luna Park Sydney ought to buy them. They need more rides.
  13. If the rides come from overseas, then I guess there is a possibility for Luna Park to purchase one of those coasters. Then if that's the case, they could contact some of the ride manufacturers to purchase some of their attractions. It might be difficult to take travelling rides to make them as permanent rides for Luna Park because they are property of their respected owners (Rainbow is owned by O'Neill Shows, Chaos and Claw are owned by Durkin Amusements, and so on). Then again, some of the Luna Park rides used to be travelling rides that appeared in different shows before then. If anyone has seen images of a Huss Rainbow, Chance Chaos, KMG Move It, Dominator and Freak Out) being currently on sale should post them in. That Gyro Drop looks pretty nifty, but doesn't it seem a bit too big? With the rides I requested, if there is still enough space, then it could seem like another perfect addition. What is the rarity of a drop-tower in an amusement park anyway? Maybe instead of Maloney's Corner being a bland carparklike area filled with rides, they could try to spice it up a little bit to make it look more appealing. Maybe if they reused some of the decorations they used to display in 1995 and 1996, the area might have the same visual appeal as the midway. I don't really know what else is there to make Luna Park have complete continuity as it should. I don't know if Luna Park would have enough room to include more 'tracked rides' like rollercoasters and log flumes (maybe having just one more is a possibility), but there would still be some unbalance because it would be 2 or 3 'tracked rides' against 10 flat rides. Besides, Luna Park is more of a carnival-themed amusement park, and even though it may not have a huge collection of rollercoasters like Cedar Point of the United States, people still enjoy taking on the flat rides. I like both types anyway, so I don't mind if they throw in more flat rides instead of rollercoasters. I feel they should add another so we could have another rollercoaster to ride apart from the Wild Mouse. Comments, anyone?
  14. Just went to the Royal Easter Show a couple of weeks ago. Good as always, but I'm somewhat disappointed with the selection of rides. Most of rides were good, but what happened to the Rainbow? That Ali Baba ride doesn't have the same kind of thrill intensity as the Rainbow. I hope they didn't scrap it because of that Rainbow accident in Sweden last year. It's really ridiculous. Those Swedes should double their maintenance on their rides if you ask me! I was even psyched to try out the Chaos and Claw this year. I saw the Chaos and Claw last year, but I didn't get to ride them. Too bad they weren't at the show this year. Log flumes aren't bad, but they should've kept those other rides. If they didn't have repeated rides (Hangover is a clone of the Kamikaze, and so is the Music Express for the Thunderbolt. We have a Music Express in Luna Park Sydney anyway!), there would be enough room for better rides. I hope to see the Rainbow, Chaos, and Claw next year. May 2010's Royal Easter Show be better than this year.
  15. Hmm... Yes, it might seem a bit unfair to demolish the picnic area just to expand Maloney's Corner. I mean the only thing is that not everyone uses the picnic area most of time (usually varies at a certain time or so). The only idea was to bring in the kind of spirit Luna Park used to have in the old times, especially 1995 and 1996. Nowadays, it seems to focus more on entertainment than on being a fully-fledged carnival complete with knockabout rides and high-speed rollercoasters. There are no doubt some decent rides there, though I believe there is enough room for more, especially in Maloney's Corner. Those coasters you suggested look pretty promising, but they are from overseas. I dunno if Australia has any type of rollercoaster like that. Honestly, I'm only familiar with the two rollercoasters that come to the Easter Show. Maybe they should just keep Tumblebug where it is now, and put compact rides near it. Maybe they should move the Kids Rides there so that there could be some room for more rides (Rainbow, Chaos, Claw and Zipper are excellent choices for permanent rides in my opinion). Ah, yes, Luna Park does seem to lack a vertical drop ride. What about the Mega Drop? It may not be tall, but it's the tallest drop ride Luna Park could get if they feel that Wonderland's Space Probe 7 was too big to fit. The Mega Drop is indeed another noteworthy addition for Maloney's Corner. Honestly, flume rides are more suited for the summer, though they are fun. Anyway, my previous suggestion was just fair enough, cause if you think clearer, riders who want to ride a Huss pendulum ride without going upside-down (aka the Ranger) will have the Rainbow, the park could have more rides that flip you erratically and spontaneously if they add the Chaos and the Zipper. The Claw, Dominator, and Music Trip look also good (just love KMG rides). Maybe they should add the Thunderbolt, a Chance Matterhorn. Works like the park's Tango ride, but the cars are bobs that swing from side to side as the ride speeds up. Definitely breathtaking. Let's hope they do try to add more permanent rides in the future. Since they don't have to worry about the noise levels, they could throw in more rides.
  16. From my experience, because the picnic area is rarely used by the Luna Park Sydney visitors (they eat anywhere in the park anyway), they should cement that area to expand Maloney's Corner to make room for more rides. Though Luna Park remains okay, I have some ideas: First of all, they should buy some of the temporary rides they receive every school holidays as permanent rides so they could have more rides. Here's some rides which I think are really good and SHOULD be added as permanent rides. Chaos - Chance Chaos Claw - KMG Move It Dominator - KMG Dominator Hard Rock - Technical Park Street Fighter Music Trip - KMG Tropical Trip Rainbow - Huss Rainbow Zipper - Chance Zipper Maybe because there's plenty of room for a small rollercoaster in the spot where the Tumblebug is, they could move that ride to another spot and put either the Crazy Coaster or the Taipan there (dunno why the Easter Show Carnival gets the big travelling rollercoasters. They should be reserved for amusement parks instead of annual carnivals). Or, if they can't have another coaster, put an extra ride near the Tumble Bug (maybe one of the current rides they have in Maloneys Corner or one of the suggested rides above, preferably the Zipper since it doesn't take too much space). The Dominator could be placed in that empty space next to the Wild Mouse (where they sometimes put one of the holiday rides), the Claw, Music Trip, Rainbow, Chaos and Hard Rock will make perfect additions for Maloney's Corner. With the area expanded, they could have more holiday rides. Anyway, that's my idea for improving Luna Park Sydney. Any comments are appreciated. By the I forgot to mention that if Luna Park Sydney adds the Rainbow, it will have its 5th permanent Huss ride. Think about it! Tumblebug - Huss Troika Ranger - Huss Ranger Spider - Huss Breakdance Flying Saucer - Huss UFO Rainbow - Huss Rainbow Talk about having a plethora of rides manufactured by one of the world's most prolific thrill ride manufacturers, ain't it? Huss rides are totally awesome! They might do getting some rides manufactured by Chance, KMG, Mondial, and Zamperla, though.
