Congrats Movie World on a fantastic new attraction! Matty, if movie world hadn't 'borrowed' any ideas from other theme parks then we wouldn't have Lethal Weapon, Scooby-Doo, Road Runner, or Superman (the concept of a roller-coaster came from a non Warner Bros. related park) nor would we have the Wild West Falls Adventure Ride (well... it wasn't invented by Warner Bros., it was 'borrowed'). Sharing ideas is what theme parks are all about! Thanks djrappa, can't wait to see the ads!

If anyone has checked out the Australian theme park entries on Wikipedia they would notice they are seriously lacking (especially in comparison with the American theme parks featured). I have made/found the following pages on Australian parks. All of these pages can grow into fantastic content rich articles if only a little time is put into them: Movie World Superman Escape [*]Dreamworld [*]Sea World [*]Wet 'n' Wild Superman Escape, but also plan to add other rides such as Scooby-Doo and Lethal Weapon. Note: When editing 'be bold' but bad edits will be removed by the site's users and administrators. Vandalism is not tolerated. The history section ('concept and construction') of Movie World's entry needs attention as currently it's just from Movie World's website - although I don't think they'll mind as it's very self-promotional. (But if no-one updates it over the next few days I'm going to write it myself). Potentially, every theme park attraction (or at least roller coaster) in Australia can be added to the world's biggest information resource. I have added

What Is Your Favourite Ride/s @ Movie World

Scooby-Doo is easily the best! -
Taronga, either Movie World have changed their mind (in the last few days) on the Marvin the Martin replacement attraction, or you're incorrect! Why should Movie World limit it's future attractions to only those made by Warners? It's not about self brand promotion (that's what the new Panasonic Big Screen is for!) - it's about creating a unique, enjoyable and truly unforgettable experience for guests!

The ads are starting to annoy me... I'm subscribed, logged in, yet they continue to chew threw my bandwidth on every forum load... If would be great if you could get it sorted.

Thanks Ian, the track is looking good. Let's hope the two different sections of track meet up in the same place

Are there actually any operating haunted houses here in Queensland?

Looks good except ads are still displayed thoughout the site when I'm logged in.

It's funny when people don't actually read a thread, but skip to the parts they find interesting... Anyway, the answer to your question is yes. Even though the park didn't go ahead, all of those multi-million dollar rides were built and are still on the Gold Coast. Taronga, I'm not sure what actually happened in this case, but there are endless reasons as to why a park can't get the required approval.

They haven't started putting the slide in place yet, but the new slide has arrived on-site. There are some photos of the new slide on my site (AussieParks.com), and I'm sure Richard will keep us updated in Roller-Coaster.com.au's Wet 'n' Wild gallery.

Just an update - AussieParks is currently in the process of having all it's photographs reviewed/approved.

I have uploaded some photos of Superman Escape (the launch track is now in place) on my website, Aussieparks (under my user name if you still don't know ).

Channel Ten news reported that a mechanical failure caused the two trains to collide.

Yea, I was talking about the park . I heard they were going to keep it a surprise until opening day (the Big Red Car dark ride) but it seems they have changed their minds...
-
So much for keeping this ride a surprise! The indoor themeing looks great, can't wait to ride it

Hi All, google have just released a great new application called google moon. You can start from space level and zoom right down to luna level. Its pretty comprehensive, I thought it would cover mostly US landing sites and it does!! Anyways, I was wondering for anyone who knows where to look, please post the co-ordinates of any US landing sites you can find. I would most love to see Apollo 11, Apollo 12, and Apollo 14 if anyone knows where they are.

clone_tk422, you have posted the exact same message twice on these forums... clone_tk422, you have posted the exact same message twice on these forums... How about you think before you post next time clone_tk422_idiot? Google Earth (or Keyhole) isn't a new application at all, it has been around for some time now. I think you're just assuming it's new as you have only just heard about it (most likely when I pointed it out in this post.) They update the database of satellite images every few years. More often in America and places that aren't constantly covered by clouds...

Dreamworld will not allow you to take media equipment on any of their thrill rides for use on the ride unless you have been given permission from their management team.
-
Well I for one am glad that someone is brave enough to come out with the truth! That's good to hear buttonpusher.
-
Thanks Skipper. As far as I'm concerned, I am not breaking Movie World's photography policy as the images are being used for non-commerical purposes. The only condition stated on the reverse of park maps and at the front gate is that the images cannot be used for commerical purposes. I'll be continuing to post updates of the Superman Escape ride on my website until it's finished!
-
Interesting... Where did you hear that buttonpusher? Since the word 'Dream.Nova' has been banned, I've changed the above link to the OzCoaster.net photos of the Superman Escape track

Aussie World And Ettamogah Pub - Landsborough Qld
Adam replied to DaptoFunlandGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Paul, I don't see how you can label Underwater World as being old and of poor quality... At the very least I’m sure many would agree that it’s certainly a well maintained aquarium with a wide variety of marine wildlife, not to mention a seal show, sharks, and a number of interactive exhibits along the way. What else could you possibly want in an aquarium? -

Why was it a let down Paul? What was it made out to be?
