What exactly is this set being used for in this precinct. Is it a photo op to go inside or is it utilised for a sort of scene with actors? Or both. I didn't get a chance to explore the precinct. Cheers.

I wasn't going to write up a review on the first night of Fright Nights but meh why not. I have very mixed emotions of what I have experienced so far. I think this can be because of the different locations of the mazes and having to work around the new adjustments, the typical first night problems. I am just going to move onto the mazes, precincts and other miscellaneous events through the night. Conjuring 2: This was the first maze of the night and wasn't too impressed at all in the first run of the night. It felt very low in budget when looking back to mazes such as Evil Dead/Within. The scares where 'meh' and it just didn't seem to live up to it's hype. We went back at the end of the night and went through again by ourselves and was genuinely terrifying. Not being in one large clogged up line gave us the chance to take in everything, the scares, theming etc. The effects in this maze was amazing for example the roof scare, moving props like the dishes and swing set, as well as the final scare from Janet where she leaps out from the corner making it seem as if she is flying. Best maze of the night. Side note, the line up was utilized efficiently and actually had some theming to keep the anticipation flowing. Very eerie inside the show stage. From Dusk till dawn: I was very intrigued about how this maze would go as I don't watch the show but i have a vague understanding of it. I thoroughly enjoyed this maze but only because it was more fun- not horrific. The set was awesome and the effects were alright. It got very tight in the hallways which would have been a perfect spot to place a scare actor to run through... The scares were very average and was seriously lacking in scare actors. But I have high hopes this friday for when i do the UTT that thise will be fixed. I HAVE HOPE! I also liked the location of the new sheds being on that orange sandy area. Along with the fire tower it set the scene pretty well. Wyrmwood: To me this maze was probably better than last year but just not very memorable. Looking back I actually cannot recall much inside the maze. Some bush, zombies and a yellow suited guy dancing. By far my least favourite maze from the night. For some odd reason it had the longest line when we lined up. Friday the 13th: Same thing happened in this maze as Conjuring 2. We had a pretty poor experience the first time through at the beggining of the night. Alot of scares were actually skipped when I went passed the actor. However at the end of the night our group of 4 had Jason chasing us all the way through the dirt tunnel and into the next scene. I prefer this years maze than last years. It felt more small and compact having scares after scares. You could tell some effects just weren't complete for example the light up picture of Jason in one of the hallways didn't work. Just typical first night problems. Apparations Precinct: We only entered the alley once and it was just my group of 4 and we screamed the whole time. Although it was extremely small it was effective and a good way to get to the courtyard and mazes etc. I can see this precinct being extended into the courtyard with less smoke but just some set and actors- yes i know the Panic Rooms are in there but just an opinion. The other precincts i have yet to explore when i attend the UTT on Friday. It was a very rushed night. Cannot wait for the 7th!

Well i think it's safe to say Apparitions is correct as a precinct however, what will be the third? Any guesses? I think American Horror Story would be amazing, however with Universal having it this year it may be unlikely...

^^^ Does anyone have an idea of what's going on in the there? Could this be a possible maze location for Wyrmwood or new panic room location- hopefully they aren't in main street again.

I am seriously shocked and excited! YES! I am well impressed by Movieworld's decision. Although I am still hoping for an AHS maze (or in the future!) This was a seriously terrifying movie and can only think of how heart pumping this maze is going to be! Hurry up MW and release more information!

I keep seeing the same movie being advertised around the Brisbane area and just thought this might be a possible maze. It's called "Red Billabong". Australian film, just like Wyrmwood which makes me think this could be a potential maze. I am for sure hoping for something alot more well known or horrifying!

As a maze, I personally think that the Scream franchise could work (TV series or movies). Just an opinion. Thoughts?

I have been through it once and also found it ordinary. Very average with very few actors and was just filled with smoke making it hard to navigate your way through the maze.

I remember they had a tent up for the haunt attraction 'Nightmares' and 'The Freezer' by Sudden Impact. From what I can remember Nightmare's was a 3D house, I wasn't game enough to enter the Freezer. Would be awesome to see something like that to come back for future Halloween events and not just have Zombie Evolution.

Just to add to that, at the beginning of the night when Michael did his speech in the lounge I believe he mentioned something about new designers or company that took over for the sound stage houses. I may be wrong but I sure do remember him saying that there is a noticeable difference with the new hero mazes this year or something along them lines. Is there anyone that has also done the UTT that can remember what was said? I also prefer more spacious sets in comparison to low detail cramped hallways. It puts you in the story and feels more immersive. It also gives you know idea where the actors are going to come from. I just love it! I really hope they give the next year sound stage mazes a larger set design.

Five Nights at Freddy's is a weird choice, and I just cant see it happening. The animatronic animal characters aren't scary at all in comparison to say Re-born Laura or Jason. Although, I suppose if they were blood soaked and placed in a strobe lighted, near to pitch black maze that could be scary...

What is Fright Zone and Total Darkness suppose to be based around? And why the return Hillbilly?

Just curious but has anyone done the other Panic Rooms? If so what were your thoughts and do you think they have a chance of returning next year?

I haven't seen the film yet but I hope next year it becomes a maze not a precinct. It could be situated in the scooby line as it might not need the extra detail Wyrmwood and Friday will need. Therefore next year I am hoping for five mazes!

It was said at the beggining of the tour that Wyrmwood and Friday the 13th will be returning for 2016 along side two fresh new hero mazes. This pattern will continue every year.

I was hoping the mazes would be amazing regardless of the choices. Boy was i wrong. I did enjoy them though but left as though they could have done so much more! However definitely give them a go, seems like others liked it. I am interested to see how they will go in Showstage and Arcade next year.

I attended Fright Nights yesterday and also went on the Ultimate Terror Tour. The whole tour was worth it and the lounge was great with complimentary canape's on arrival and buffet through out the night. The briefing with the scare actors gave us an insight into the duty of being a scare actor and many opportunities for photo's etc. We were then escorted to main street into a reserved roped of section in front of the panic rooms for us. The opening ceremony/parade was exciting and pumped you up for the mazes and the night ahead. Off the Beaten track tour: I found this tour more fun than horrific and scary as mentioned by Michael at the briefing. It was still dark...Very dark. The actors gave it there all though.They utilized the Kids WB area well and all worked nicely with the theme/story line. This experience was a nice addition to the tour and hope it will continue in the following years- different story line hopefully. I don't want to spoil it so i will leave it at that. Wyrmwood: This was the first maze i went in on the night. I had mixed feeling when it got announced it would be a maze but because it is one of the hero mazes this year i had hope. There was definitively a difference in the sound stage mazes this year in comparison to previous Fright Nights. For one they seemed a lot shorter. Is this due to the Secret Rooms in the middle of the maze? And two the maze lacked in overall scenery and atmosphere (IMO). From memory the majority of the maze had just plain black corridors and in a way wrecked the mood. It also didn't seem that there were many actors (might have been the timing i went through). This didn't mean it was a bad maze but i feel it didn't have a solid story line or theme. The scares were very average but making some of the scares happen in the VIP secret rooms were a lot of fun. Overall 7/10. Friday The 13th: I was most excited for this maze and was almost certain this was going to be one of the best seen at FN's. Boy was i wrong. I just didn't enjoy this maze. Again, very average scares. Same goes for basic set in exception for the lake at the start and the tunnel made from dirt. You would turn a corner in a basic black corridor hoping for a scare... nope. The few Jason scares were great but not enough. There was something missing in the two sound stage mazes that i couldn't just put my finger on. They do get right up in your face though. Something i admired about all the mazes in general were the soundscapes blasted above your head. For Friday the 13th I actually got more jumps from the loud sounds than the actual actors. The secret room was a hell lot of fun pressing buttons, pulling levers and looking at the maze layout. I will say no more for the people doing the tour though. Overall a bit disappointed. I am giving this maze a 6/10. The two hero maze lines were about the same size for the majority of the evening with the main queue 'zig zag' 3/4 full. Guessing 45 minute waits max just from inspection. And for the first half of the night, us UTT and Fast Track people waited for no more than 5 minutes for all of the mazes. Wolf Creek 2: After not really liking last years adaption this years was a game changing revival for me. It was fast paced and in general a compact version of last years. Being in such a smaller location this made a lot of scares more intimate and happened one after another quickly. There were some rooms and corridors that looked like the designer had given up on ideas on what to put there but it was still awesome. This years Show Stage maze is on par with Hillbilly slasher, i personally loved Hillbilly despite the mixed reviews. Overall i rate it 8/10. Evil Within: I was looking very forward to this maze as it was my favorite maze ever at Fright Nights and was curious how it being in the arcade would effect the brilliant theming/set it entailed last year. I wouldn't say it was as good as last year but still was a kick-ass maze. Scare after scare, awesome effects and returning characters such as Reborn Laura and the chainsaw butcher were great quality scares. It will be sad to see this one finish this year and not return but had a good run. I would rate this maze also 8/10 Devilution Panic Room: My group decided to choose Devilution after being spoiled on how to figure the way out for The Playpen. I was the first to enter the room and had no idea what to expect and was very nervous. I was blind folded and taken into the room and handcuffed. When we were allowed to take the blindfolds off i was startled by an 'infected' man grabbing my legs in a cage. We didn't figure out the code to get out but according to the staff watching us we were very close. I wasn't upset that i didn't finish but more eager and curious to have a stab at the rest and find out what the others offer. It wasn't scary at all for me after i initially got over the fact that the actor may touch you. I enjoyed the experience and was well worth it. Has any one else done the other rooms? If so what are your thoughts? Scare Precincts: I loved the precincts this year and I can tell that Fright Nights are becoming bigger each year by making the precincts an actual thing not just some zombies wandering around the park. My favourite would have to be Zombie Land as it was just so well done. Maybe a bit more actors and the precinct would of been near to perfect. Freaks was just plain fun and was very happy with the outcome. It was the most lively precinct and very interactive. The cage man smothered in blood was back again and more creepy than ever. Besides from them two precincts the 2 other precincts were meh. Gothic Hall should of been listed as a performance not a scare precinct. Zero actors. But nice to listen to when you are passing by. Demons Lair was interesting. I think it had a lot more potential.Although I really liked how dark it was and the strobe lights make it hard to navigate your way to Evil Within and Wolf Creek. There were no real scares but at least they can improve these zones in the coming years. On another note Zombie Alley was a let down and have been getting worse each year. The first time I passed through we didn't see many zombies at all. Leaving i got chased all the way out from soundstage to superman. Although it was fun and scary i noticed he was the only actor in the alley. Overall 2015 Fright Nights brought a new era including Precincts, panic rooms etc and will be curious to see how the event will be improved over the years. The mazes were just missing something and just didn't seem right. I left feeling rather unsatisfied.Though i thoroughly enjoyed the Ultimate Terror Tour and will be booking it next year. It was the best of the worst Fright Nights.

Good to see the Scare Precincts advertised and getting attention not just the mazes. Looking forward to seeing what the precincts will turn out like and how much effort they will put towards detail and decoration- Abandoned vehicles could look great to replicate a chaotic end of world scene as well as potential for actors to jump out from behind. .

Make me wonder if Scooby will be used this year for the Panic Rooms. Just a thought.

Evil Within- Favourite: Reborn Laura. Scariest: Definitely the character with the Chainsaw. Lord help me if there is ever a Texas Chainsaw Massacre maze at Fright Nights. The revolving spikes were great and the smoke/fog that fell downwards was awesome. I hope they keep the same level of detail this year. Wolf Creek 2: Favourite: The scare in the bush/trees near the start. Scariest: Mick Taylor with the handsaw. That was beyond terrifying (for me) and the noise it produced added to the scare. I personally found the victims in the tunnel boring and seemed to drag on a bit. Hopefully this year they add more scares from Mick Taylor and less victims.

I found The Darkness very simple and budgeted but terrifying. My group of 3 went through at the end of the night when the line was near to empty and we went through with just ourselves. The whole experience was a lot better than going with a big group of 10-15. I find they select people to scare then go back to hiding for the next group of people to scare, which is why I found Wolf Creek not that great.

I am happy Evil Within is back. It was such a good maze, had such great scares and amazing effects. As for Wolf Creek 2, I am a quite disappointed. I didn't really understand why everyone likes it so much last year. From my experience it lacked in scares and the end in the torture tunnels dragged on a bit. Hopefully this will be improved it is in show stage as there might be more scares compacted in the smaller space.

The username suggests were all stupid so, I would say an employee. Given he knows such information. I will be a bit disappointed if MW gives us 2 recycled mazes. I hope for a custom house and a game.
