  1. Probably will only get better with age. Or at least hopefully, cause I agree, it does look good.
  2. I’m not complaining, I don’t care about waiting, but it’s listening to other guests, I was basing that recommendation on what I was hearing other folks saying. I don’t queue in that line to reduce wait time. The point the people in the single rider queue were trying to make, and what I’m trying to make on their behalf, is it’s important to try and keep all queues moving, otherwise one builds up. How I said the idea was to just keep all queues moving. VIP line, basically means priority line. If it was being treated like a VIP line that would mean everyone in that queue would go first. It wouldn’t annoy pairs anymore then a VQ, or fast track. How I said the idea was that, if no single riders were required, then to keep that queue moving, simply throw 2 people in at the back.
  3. For anyone who is interested, this is the email review I sent in to VRTP. If you're not interested, just ignore this post Hi Village Roadshow, Yesterday, I visited both Wet N Wild and Movieworld and like usual wanted to review of my experience. I spent the morning at Wet N Wild before spending my afternoon at Movieworld, I didn’t see and do everything, so like usual I’ll only review what I did see and do. Wet N Wild: Firstly, all staff I encountered were friendly, the park was clean and tidy, and the gardens were well kept. It was great seeing AquaLoop get some TLC, and also great to see Constrictor repainted, I hope tornado is next, cause it needs some TLC. Having the old buggy site turfed looks great, and the new sign at Kamikaze also looks great. If you haven’t guessed already the park looked, overall, great. Now for the cons. The permanently closed Zip-line is still there, why? It doesn’t look good. The only gardens I did notice that could do with some TLC were located near Constrictor, they were very weedy. I’d ask your gardeners to tidy that up a bit. But overall they do a great job. Repainting Tornado, with constrictor being done this year, I hope tornado is on the cards. Also giving the outside of the AquaLoop tubes some TLC, would be great. My final con is with the entrance shelter, the supports it could do with a pressure wash just to clean them up a bit. Before I review my Movieworld experience, I wanted to give a shout out to Joe, at Wet N Wild customer service, he’s a great guy, and was only too happy to answer all of my questions that were of mere curiosity. Thanks again Joe. Movieworld Same as Wet N Wild, the staff were friendly, only too happy to answer any questions I had. The park was, as per usual, clean, tidy and the grounds well kept. I rode Scooby Coaster, West Falls, Doomsday, Green Lantern, and DC Rivals Now the cons. Most are the same as last time. The hut roof inside WB kids zone, it looks and continues to look bad, correction make that awful. Blown light bulbs, there are many throughout the park, replacing them would be awesome. Also worth noting is the overheard sign for Hypercoaster, the paint on the structure could do with some TLC. But that is just nit picking. Green Lantern An enjoyable ride like usual, staff were friendly enough, moving a bit slow, so improving their speed would be good. Upon walking through the queue I noticed the green paint was suffering a bit. I mentioned this in an earlier review, so fixing that up would be awesome. Scooby Doo Probably be one of my favourite rides, however, like last time none of the screens were working, neither were the lights in the turntable section. The ride’s hallway connecting the station to the switchback area, looks awful, the walls really need some work. I hope you guys fix these things up during the rides upcoming mainteance period. Hypercoaster The only thing I will bring to your attention is the single rider queue. Sometimes it can be a few trains before a single rider is needed. I’d suggest sending a train 2 single riders in one row, I’d just keeping that line moving. Wild West One of my favourites in the park, it was great to see more of the effects (audio & visual) running then on my last visit, however there are many that still ain’t running or ain’t running right. Like usual say, I’d personally get them fixed up. Doomsday Not a bad ride, I enjoy it. Like the other rides room for some improvement. The red painted strips on the outer ring are quite chipped, touch that up and shall be as good as new. I was glad to see that the areas effects in whole area were running good, but, still not all of them, and secondly Poison Ivy is looking a bit sad, needs to some paint correction. Thank you for your time, Kind Regards, Ashley Butler
  4. One thing I hope they do, is continue the sandy look on paths. It’s one of my favourite things about vortex, it’s simple but I like it.
  5. Hmm, it doesn't look too bad, I'm surprised they didn't the sign covered up until closer to the opening date, sorta like DW did with Sky Voyager. The one thing I do dread is what it's going to look like in a few years, artificial hedging, like artificial grass, I find doesn't age well, it fades really badly. So, I hope they maintain it.
  6. I’m afraid there has been a misunderstanding, I never suggested the ride was running on diesel, I said the machine was diesel powered. The only time I thought the generator would be used is during a power outage.
  7. It’s great they’ve made an effort to hide the temporary fencing, the wrap looks good.
  8. A very good point, but do we know what the ride is yet? Cause it might not be very high, so it wouldn’t matter if it was where the Marvin ride used to be.
  9. Well since Scooby has one and how Lantern, I wonder if they’re going to install generators at all the major rides. I should also mention while I remember, that there was no spiral staircase built. Makes me wonder if there was going to be an unforeseen delay, and instead of waiting they opted to reopen the ride. It would explain why it opened earlier.
  10. Yeah, that’s what it was like when I went. On my visit WWFs wasn’t too bad, still many things not working. But I was thinking they have also removed some audio effects, they have also added a new audio effect on the first lift hill.
  11. An upgrade? It's the same as last time. I'd prefer to look at a screen that's on instead of a screen that's off and still has the sound effects working. Honestly, I can't remember, I only just glanced at it. I do recall it being a diesel and it did look to like it was connected to chain motor. But it may well have been a compressor. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
  12. Um, well let me just say you have quite the imagination. Which isn't a bad thing, sometimes it's good to think outside the box. Well some Luna Parks rides are quite old, so I imagine the people would be old, probably quite prim and proper. The newer rides or people would probably be a lot more chill and out there. As for how how would they look, um, well they may look like the theme of the ride. What I mean is, the Ghost train as a person may look and dress quite spooky or ghost like. Naturally I'm just speculating here, as @Jobe said I've never really thought about it.
  13. Now that'd be cool. But getting the rights to RC would be extremely difficult.
  14. Yeah, I did notice a generator. I was thinking it was there as a backup system, incase of a power loss or something. I don't think it was running, if it was it would have been really quiet, cause you have walk literally right past it.
  15. Haha, I don't know if it's really a kids ride. No problem. It has just been repainted. I couldn't Doomsday going anytime soon. I know it's not always the most reliable, but it's not very old. With Vikings Revenge finally being demolished, do you think they might replace it with Surfrider? It might just fit. But I'd be tight, I couldn't see anything ever being put in that space. At least not until superman is removed. Oh, by the way the misters were working on SE, they start just before the launch.
  16. Oh, yeah, I didn’t think of that. Don’t mind me. Yes, they were doing a photo op. Trust me I thought the same thing.
  17. Thanks. Haha, thanks for pointing that out, yes, that’s definitely a typo. Sorry about that.
  18. And here is my MW update, there are pros and cons. I rode Green Lantern, Hypercoaster, Doomsday, and Wild West. For starters, all the staff were friendly, park was clean and tidy, gardens well kept. Carousel is almost back together, so it shouldn't be long until it reopens. The figurines look great, the renovation is, by the looks of it well worth it As mentioned in another topic, markings are in place for the new kids ride, there is however these lines going across the path, past Taz's rest stop. Interesting. The stage around the giant tree is fenced off, for whatever reason. Sadly, this dump remains. And continues to deteriorate. Whist queueing for green lantern I noticed that the paint isn't in the best condition, I wish they would of touched this up during it's annual shutdown. Whilst I'm discussing paint, the Hypercoaster sign (old batman sign) could do with some TLC. Scooby's queue also needs some TLC, it doesn't look good, to say the least. Once again none of the screens were working, neither were the lights, in the turntable section. Wild West falls effects were working pretty good, still many things not working, and some things still out of sync, but it was better than when I last rode it. By the way, @Levithian, here is where Boothill was moved to, just follow the path past WWFs, and you'll literally run straight into it. It's currently one of the parks desiginated smoking areas. Doomsday area also was improved since my last visit, Lex Luthor spoke, Captain Cold spoke and his ice gun worked, scarecrow also spoke and had some gas effects working. Still along way to go, but it's progress. Also worth noting is the red strips on the ring of Doomsday destroyer need a touchup of paint. No progress on wizard of oz area, that I could see. Finally, at the end of the day I was speaking with a ride attendant about the hypercoaster stoppage, and was told what caused it. Drum roll....................................... It was caused by high winds. She described it, as a very expensive mistake.
  19. Hi Parkz community, hope you're all well, went to both Wet n Wild, and Movieworld today. So, here is an update of WNW, I'll start another topic for my MW update. Alright, well on my visit everything was pretty good, staff were friendly, park was clean and tidy, gardens well kept. They have also done a few improvements since my last visit. Unfortunately, this remains, do the world a favour VRTP, and get rid of it. Now for the good things. Kamikaze has been given a new sign. And the old buddy site has been turfed, it looks great. I'm not sure, but I think this building and the toilets in H20 zone have been repainted. Some excavation is happening in front of Blackhole, which is currently under maintenance. The kids play structure has received some flags, and looks like it has also received a coat of paint. Constrictor's paint job is finished, and it looks great. AquaLoop is also down for maintenance, and is getting a buff. I spoke with the supervision manager in charge of the work at the loop, and he said that they do this annually, it's to not only bring out the colour, but also to clean it. He said 1 year's worth of sunscreen, sweat, dirt etc. needs to be cleaned off. The company he works for, does business with all the theme parks, and they done some repainting at WNW in the past, they didn't repaint constrictor, but they did repaint, River rapids last year, and mammoth falls 2 years ago. Hopefully tornado is next on the list. Fun fact: to completely polish and wax super 8 racer takes 6 weeks. Now with regards to Surfrider, they didn't tell me where it's going, but I can confirm that it is being moved to another park. I also have some information about Skycoaster, the reason it is closed is because you need special training to operate it, the company that they used has gone bust, and they haven't found another company in Queensland yet.
  20. Well the area is coming along great. I hope they do something with the blue funnel thing in the queue, as it doesn’t really blend in with the rock work.
  21. According to the MW maintenance schedule, Doomsday is back open, for now at least.
  22. Hahaha, good point. Not everything MW do is bad, they have done some good things in the past, so we can hope that this will be one of those times.
  23. True, but with the ride being closed for several months, one would expect everything to be working again.
  24. Forgot about those little ones. I was meaning the giant ones in the concept art, I do believe @Rivals was referring to the water features in the concept art for trident. So, trident might have some smaller fountains, but it probably won’t have the giant ones portrayed in the concept art.
