Nope....just cannot do it..especially in light of what has just been posted. Just for you RWC, since it seems your memory of what you have stated is different to mine.. In summary: You brought forward a statement claiming that Mack were involved with said restoration of LPM Scenic Railway trains. I thought that was interesting but questioned your source. After much deliberation and questioning, the only concrete proof that you brought forward was that you have seen the "Mack" logo on the restoration plaque. You were going to take a photo of this to show us all. You admitted that no-one told you and that you assumed that meant that Mack was involved. You offered up the fact that because Germany has the only other surviving brakeman coaster (which we all know to be incorrect as I have shown) this is another strong reason why Mack was involved. In your words- " You knew" This was despite the fact that the post to you from LPM on FB and later information from b-girl has shown that the restoration on the trains was being done by LPM maintenance and businesses in Melbourne. In other words- NOT Mack. If you had said at any stage that "you were not sure, or that I am assuming, or that I think Mack is involved but I could be wrong", I could have lived with that. Instead, even now, when the absolute weight of evidence is against you, you still maintain that you were not incorrect. I am sorry. But unless evidence comes out further that supports your statement, then I AM 100% vindicated in my view. You cannot prove to all and sundry that Mack is involved, nor can you produce any evidence to back it up. b-girls evidence is the most compelling. You say were not outright wrong-that its just unprovable. Unfortunately, if you make a claim that you cannot prove, then this in essence and by logic, proves that said claim to be wrong. On a different note, I would love to see the article that you are quoting RE LPM. If you could point me in the right direction, it would be most appreciated. Cheers

I made a mistake by getting myself into this?? Hello?? I was posting on this forum and I debated a comment that I CORRECTLY thought to be wrong. At no time has RWC EVER admitted he was wrong, even now when it has been proven to be so. He kept dodging the question and clouding the issue with unsubstantiated claims of myself "bullying" him or "harrassing" him. This is a complete over-reaction as several other posters have supported. And yes i did call him deluded but lets put that into context. This was in reply to his claim that I was "stalking" him from thread to thread and falsely accusing me of following him to Facebook. In hindsight, I think my reaction was fairly restrained and controlled!! Reanimated and Brad2912's analogy of the situation was quite correct. I didnt make the claim. I was not supporting it. It wasnt up to me to prove it right- that was up to RWC when I voiced MY concern. And if you read my post's correctly, you will see that , even though I was suspicious that he was bullshitting us, I would have publicly apologised if he WAS right. Which of course he was not. Vindication for me. The point is, I would have been reasonable from the first post, IF he HAD been reasonable. His own stubborness and failure to see that he had got himself into a losing situation with his complete bullshit, is the reason that he has tarnished his reputation on this board. If you TRULY support what you say in your own statement, then that means you are fine with anyone making ANY bullshit claim about any topic, and no one has any right of reply to correct, debate,argue differently, offer a differing opinion, refute, contest, or dispute at any time. Instead , we should all trot off and be mature and find out the truth for ourselves. If you REALLY believe that, then brace yourself. You are a complete moron. Why would the onus be on me to prove someone else's claim?? That's preposterous!! Especially since I had doubts over its validity in the first place!! And has since been proven, I was quite correct!! As for bullying, all I did was ask the question!! Yes I called it bullshit , but as has been seen , that's exactly what it was!! Your probably right in this AlexB. The thing has sat there since the mid to late 80's and there has been no real effort expended up til now to get the thing running and open to the public. It may be that the Hammonds have realized what you have just said- that in its current form ,Orphan Rocker would not be financially viable to get up and running for public use.

Jacob, seriously it's a public forum. We are all enthusiasts and theme park lovers here. There was a great discussion about the restoration of the LPM Scenic Railway trains, the return back to 2 train operation ( which is great) and then the sticking point- who did said restoration. All I did is ask a question about the validity and source of that information. That question has been dodged and avoided ever since I asked it!! Surely we are allowed to keep the integrity of these boards intact by asking a question if we query something that we feel could obviously be wrong or misinformed?? I even offered to apologise if what he said turns out to be true!! Now I do not despise the guy in the slightest and I would have pursued the same line of questioning if it was you or anyone else that had made that claim. For this I have nothing to be ashamed of and I certainly do not deserve to be accused of harrasment.

I reckon Flying Turns will eventually open. Orphan Rocker on the other hand,, will probably sit idle for another decade before we see any serious work on it.

Jesus how hard is it?? I do not know who has alledgely "fought" with you on Facebook but it certainly was not me!! Obviously someone else has some issues with things that you post in public forums!! But seriously it's a big claim and an interesting one to boot, however as seems to be the case with RWC, once you actually get to the hard questions, there is very little substance to what he posts. Mind you if it's true then I will humbly apologise , however , as I have stated before, my bullshit meter has gone off the scale, especially given the answers he has presented. I still reckon its a stretch to justify making Avalon Melbourne's second international airport on the premise that a Airshow that occurs once every 2 years is the biggest reason to make it viable. Notice also you have not commented, nor proven your Mack restoration involvement with the Scenic Railway either- still waiting for that gem to appear as well!! ;-)

Thanks for this!! I have never seen this episode before- it really shows Luna Park in brilliant colour!!! Some great shots of the Big Dipper, The Flying Saucer and even some fleeting glimpses of the Ghost Train!!! Fairly rare footage of Luna Park in this vintage. The Tumbling House survived until the mid 70's- they used to be a staple of virtually every amusement park of this era. Brilliant!!

Agreed Gazza!! Melbourne does not have the air traffic that Sydney has , hence the reason that Kingsford Smith Airport is fast approaching it's maximum potential. The need for a 2nd Sydney airport is far greater than Melbourne's. Unfortunately successive NSW and Federal Govts have procrastinated for decades on making a decision to turn this into a reality.

My thoughts exactly Gazza. Have Mack ever undertaken a restoration of any coaster or trains of this vintage before?? Why Mack?? It really does not seem to fit their current ride focus.....however with Zamperla assisting in the rehab of the Coney Island Cyclone, it may just have some validity-however I have not seen this info ANYWHERE else....which to me is a little concerning. Surely Mack would like to offically confirm their involvement on the rehab of the trains of the oldest continuing operating roller coaster in the world on their home page?? Sure would look good on a resume....

How far is it to the park from the city centre of Wollongong??
