  1. Carnivalle at MW was fantastic.

whilst it’s not horrible at SW I think it’s fallen into repetitive mode like FN & WC had over the last few years. By all accounts WC is a marked improvement this year (I’ll be checking it out next week) so hopefully Carnivalle get a decent update/refresh for 2024

Its basically impossible for the water level to be ok in the western town and too low in the geyser area. Water flows from the backwards drop area through to lift two. So if its low at the start, it should be low at the end too.

All well and good, but that is the reality of what it was today.
I’ve probably ridden WWF about 100 times.

usually the water level between the geyser, past the broken bridge towards the teepees is about 20cm below the trough lip. You might cop the odd bump in that section, but today the water was at least 40cm, maybe more below the lip, and you could feel the wheel bumping along the bottom the whole way and the boat hitting the curves hard due to less buoyancy.

The water level in the western town if anything was higher that usual - water was over the trough lip in a couple of areas and water was spilling out

Yes but the boats could get stuck at the chainlift and the boats from behind all bump into them. May not be as bad as TRRR but all the boats (or at least 2 or 3) would get stuck leaving around 25 people trapped.

As I stated, It was only in the one section between the turn around/geyser and the Indian teepees, water level was fine through the western town.

other thing I found strange was no attendant in the little room to the left at the start of the lift hill. Usually you can clearly see them and the cctv cameras they are monitoring. No one there today.

  4. Wild West Falls is a shit show today.

only 2 or 3 boats on the track at any time.

water levels too low between the backwards drop and Indian teepees so you are literally rolling on the concrete which is not great for your back.

Audio track skipping and looping the skip through western town, most of the effects not working at all. No lights, sounds or screens for the entirety of the lift hill or turntable

    JL is about 80% working

Lasers stopped working before final scene. Scene didn’t play out until we had passed it.

    no ride photos

  5. So Ten is great because they have sports coverage? They pay exorbitant $$$ for sports because they brings viewership regardless of what channel it’s on, and what does viewership bring? Ad revenue.

that’s why Ten is going all out for sports, because they cannot draw a market to any of their original productions, so without sports they’d be dead in the water.

it’s a moot point, but a ten/paramount re-theme of Movie World is horrendous. You don’t theme your park to the worst performing commercial station in the country (by a long shot)

The good thing about partnering with Paramount is you are also doing a deal with Channel 10, maybe if a rebrand happens Ten can have exclusive previews of new rides and shows for their news as well as even Wild West Falls being rebranded to Paramount mountain. Also IIRC Village and Ten did a deal for Village movies to be aired on Ten so that adds another factor with going with Paramount.

No one wants to be aligned with Ten. They are an abomination of a failure in every sense. Everything they touch turns to shit

Yeah look maybe I'm old and I don't 'get it' but I can't imagine even as a kid being into this stuff. Hope those that get it enjoy it, but it's really not for me.

I don’t particularly get it either. Just figured for $25 it may be worth it down the track in some way, and willing to risk that if it’s not.

Don't you get those discounts every visit at DW with an annual pass?

Yep, but village passes don’t get in park discounts

You don’t need to market it with an official date attatched, marketing could’ve stayed as ‘Rising Soon’ until commissioning, testing ect were all done.

If you’re putting campaigns onto billboards interstate, bus shelters, train stations (all of which I saw last week in Sydney) you need a date. “Rising soon” doesn’t inspire anyone to book, and replacing all that marketing later with a set date doubles your costs. So you name a date and aim for it

They should’ve waited for both rides to be fully commissioned, then decided and announced an opening date

That’s not how marketing works, at all. You’re talking about a timeline of months. If you waited for commissioning to start that process you’d be opening months before you even have marketing activity in the public arena which when heading into the holiday season just isn’t possible. You name a date and do all you can to make it.
