  1. 100% Everyone wants to save the koalas, unless the koala's were living where their house was built, on the roads accessing their homes, or the shopping centres where they conveniently go shopping. the gold coast is full of convenient conservationalists
  2. I think it’s got a few seasons in it given a return to the live voting, 24/7 cams etc it will pique interest
  3. They are in a bit of a bind marketing wise as Jane’s is somewhat in competition with the food trucks at the night market. Don’t think any long term decision has been made but they are taking time to review
  4. Haha, it’s the same every time. Selected “micro-influencers” audited by recruitment agencies and talent management companies
  5. no. They'll want the influencer's and wanna-be soap stars they choose to have the most possible time tanning in swimsuits by the pool....
  6. Yeah i know it has access, but it isn't really suitable to build an outdoor area in the surrounds of the gold coaster ride envelope - not to say it couldnt work, but with the apparent time constraints you'd think an area with foundations/cleared, some landscaping etc already in place would be the better choice. Thankfully my son is well out of wiggles phase now, but all the years we saw them at dreamworld it was always on Main St and worked well. This is the area the poster referred to as the location - i do agree with you that it doesn't seem production suitable at all for tv lighting and cameras etc.
  7. Believe that was pulled quite a while back now (maybe when they started showing other non-Australian films)
  8. Like most it seems like a strange decision for me. I expected the conference centre to be used for the eviction shows etc, but not to be the house location, and the loss of a popular ride for multiple months is far from ideal. A poster online who seems to have some knowledge over the production said they would be constructing a small outdoor area alongside the conference centre for the housemates - looking at the space they have to work with - the only place that would work is outside the entrance doors and flowrider used to be. Every other side of the conference centre is land locked. Could we potentially see the Trolls Village utilised for this purpose? Either way, you'd think it would be unlikely they keep Barrel's Burger Bar open as thats a noisy high-traffic area during the day, and we'll likely see the area cordoned off just after Kickback Cove. Tailspin may give some overview of that area during production, so be interesting to see if that continues to run or they install quite high walls to block sight lines. Same person online mentioned the eviction shows will be held within White Water World
  9. Pretty sure that is all it is for now. There hasn’t been significant downtime of any of the enclosures etc to enable any large scale changes, nor is it really needed.
  10. Superman not looking good for a return anytime soon
  11. I mean it’s a fun exercise if you were looking for something to do - but 99% of your figures are straight guess work. any estimation of revenue from gate sales requires at least some knowledge of what the sales mix of attendees are (ie day pass, annual pass, some other holiday pass). On an off peak Tuesday you may find 80% of your visitors are annual pass holders, so there is no direct gate income in that day from a large portion of your crowd. then the avg duration of stay for annual pass holders - something not able to be tracked, as that then impacts revenue per head on F&B (annual pass holders more like to leave before lunch, or arrive after) and merch (annual pass holders less likely to buy on any given day). There is a myriad financial lines to consider; of which you have only handled a few. but as I said, if it was just an activity in fun, then it’s accuracy is of little consequence
  12. That program was disbanded about 12 months ago now
  13. You’re welcome to look at the plans if you have that much interest in it.
  14. If it was opening September school holidays they would already be promoting it to get the intestate bookings flooding in.
  15. The Brisbane RNA show grounds is being entirely refit and developed for the 2032 Olympics and creating a legacy home for the EKKA was a big part of the promotion around the location choice, there was even models and a stand at the EKKA this year showing what the new facilities will look like, so the EKKA isn’t going anywhere anytime in the next 50 years.
  16. Time will tell if the money saved on IP goes into production/staffing/atmosphere improvements or simply improves their P&L
  17. Really seems they have gone the cheap option with 5 non-IP mazes (yes DCeased is an IP but it’s one they already own, so not costing them anything). I was underwhelmed with all 3 of the returning mazes when I saw them 2 years ago, it’s crazy they are now rehashed a 3rd time.
  18. Was horrific footage to see, but you cannot compare the shoddy workmanship (can you still say workmanship?) that is apparent there, and what we will have with King Claw. One’s a Chinese manufactured carnival style ride in a country with what I’d imagine to be fairly lax govt or industry body oversight, and one is a permanent Intamin manufacture, installed and to be tested under the rigours of Australian safety and operational practices. the apparent ride op running out the gate and away from the accident rather than attending to the injured also fills me with confidence about the quality of operations at the park…
  19. Drove past the Beattie Rd boundary (graveyard, monster truck location) and they had installed a new fence along that perimeter and could see heavy machinery operating over the top of the fence so likely clearing and levelling the land
  20. Big Brother is officially returning to its spiritual home, with a brand-new house set to rise from the ashes at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. In an exclusive reveal producers confirmed the 2025 reboot of the iconic reality juggernaut will be filmed at the very site that made the franchise a cultural phenomenon more than two decades ago. After months of speculation and calls from diehard fans for a nostalgic full-circle moment, production company Endemol Shine has locked in Dreamworld as the official location for the show’s revival — complete with a purpose-built house. “The demand for a reboot of the original format has been deafening, and we have listened,” SVP of Content at Paramount Australia Daniel Monaghan said, promising the reboot will honour the raw, unscripted spirit of the original series. “With a brand-new house built on familiar ground, this season will be centred on real people with real stories, talking in real-time.” Fronting the revival is The Cheap Seats star and Nova radio host Mel Tracina, who described the hosting gig as a “pinch-me moment”. “I’d love to be able to recall the exact moment I got the call but my brain stopped braining from excitement,” she said. “I was simultaneously trying not to squeal into the phone and pass out at the same time.” Tracina, who watched the show’s very first season as a teenager, said: “The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right. We’re excited to be home (and in a new house that hopefully comes with an air fryer).” “I was excited when Queensland was confirmed as the location because I knew fans of the show would be wrapped. Personally, I’m also happy because I’m a Melburnian who has Jon Snow’d through winter so I cannot wait to swap my MacPac for Havaianas.” Dreamworld CEO Greg Yong said: “We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Big Brother back home to Dreamworld. This iconic show holds a special place in our story and in the hearts of millions of Australians.” Supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, the production will employ 95 local crew members and offer four paid attachment positions. Casting is now open at bigbrothercasting.com.au. The new season will air later this year on 10. https://www.couriermail.com.au/entertainment/big-brother-returns-to-dreamworld-on-the-gold-coast/news-story/385a067b4ef357c443176eae58a1980c
  21. Maintenance teams can only be within the ride envelope if the ride is locked down, so therefore anything track related be that inspections, maintenance, upkeep etc cannot occur with the ride operational in any way. track maintenance isn’t going to happen under the cover of dark from a logistics, costing and operational standpoint, and the maintenance and ride tech crew have enough to do in the morning hours with pre-opening checks to do any arduous maintenance. It’s off peak season, now is the time to close the ride and get what needs to be done, done
  22. Think you are overlooking that SNW cost more than the entire value of village theme parks to construct….
