  1. I am so excited for this, good on you MW. Just a few weeks ago I was thinking to myself how disappointing it is that there are currently so little attractions, but for some reason seeing this early advertising and marketing for the two rides... I really could not care, I just want to see what they do with these two new attractions!!!!!
  2. This is a ride I have been working on the past week, not fully completed and still lots more to come. I'm in a little bit of a creative block at the moment so PLEASE criticism and comments would be appreciated! This is my first attempt at a full on themed coaster. It is inspired by Raptor at Gardaland. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you travel along the path in the woods you come across this mysterious castle... Standing on top of one of the towers, a mysterious dragon like train fly's past... Weird? Some kind of an inversion o.O Under the queue line and up and over the castle wall... Airtime? One of my favourite shots. Nice first drop into a mysterious forest.... Brake run NIGHT SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!! (This is my favourite) Welcome to 'Reaper'
  3. Where do you prefer to sit? Also if you ask nicely the ride ops usually let you sit where you ask, if the seat hasn't already been taken up by other people.
  4. Just as the title says, front middle or back gives a different ride experience for these coasters. I've seen posts here and there mentioning where people enjoy sitting on these rides but I just thought I'd make a thread and poll about it. Personally for SE I prefer the very last two seats as it gives much more airtime over the camelbacks, other than that I prefer the very front because it's just cool having nothing but track in front of you. For LW I again prefer the very back because I feel the g forces through the elements are much more intense. Your thoughts?
  5. Yeah can someone ban the guy? His posts are a waste of internet bandwidth
  6. If they were to put flying coaster seats on it, you will most likely break a rib going through the half loop on LW.
  7. I can see it perfectly, the old LW entrance becomes the entrance to Gotham City, instead of the oriental style buildings it is now gotham city buildings, and as you get to the actual ride queue, you enter Arkham Asylum, and somehow they will then incorporate the ride into the Asylum. That is a very very very basic version of what it could be, but it really does make sense if they did it like that, and it'd be an awesome themed area....It'd make much more sense than removing the helix for an exit station (?????????).
  8. Obviously I agree with your post Gazza, but in the regards to the above comment you made. The only reason they would make a change to LW is because of that, but seeming as LW is a Vekoma SLC I'm thinking it is a very very far fetch for it to have any structural problems seeming as there are some 39 of them around the world with ZERO of these problems.
  9. This thread is littered with predictions for a re-theme, if I were you read through what people have said. Some very interesting ideas, and some that are hopeless.
  10. It won't happen, no SLC has had its layout changed... Other coasters yes, but other than a major structural problem most coasters don't get the layout changed. Why spend millions on changing 1 or 2 elements when you can just buy a new ride? This is wishful thinking, it won't happen.
  11. I believe this is MW's opportunity to once again be the clear front runner in regards to themed attractions, currently I am very happy with the standard of theming on all of MW's attractions. Yes GL may not have been themed much at all, but they did what they could with it. Putting aside the on board audio and other small extras (which I love) GL is certainly not up to standard THEMING WISE with the rest of the park. Don't get me wrong this isn't a complaint about GL, but I believe they now have an opportunity with LW and the china town area to really theme this well, I think this is an excellent opportunity to go all out on theming, as other than the trains they already have an attraction to use that won't cost them any extra.
  12. Agreed with Gazza. Put it this way, the ride would be better if it was smoother, not more rougher or the same as it is now. A woodie that is really smooth, people would be saying "I wish it was a little rougher" as that is what woodies are about (anyone who has coaster knowledge would most likely be saying this). SLC's are not about that out of control feeling like woodies with everything shaking. Back on topic now.
  13. Seriously whether a ride is Superman themed or Wonder Woman themed what difference would it make? Of course Superman is more popular, but lets say if they renamed Green Lantern to "Wonder Woman - The Amazing Flight", there would be just the same amount of visitors wanting to ride, as almost all of the GP come to ride the actual coaster regardless of the theme. Of course Superman would be much easier to market, I can't see a female superhero ride being a bad thing, or a bad move.
  14. I see, I thought they were almost identical but obviously not.
  15. As far as I know they are identical.
  16. I agree, I don't think it's a situation where they want less people in main street and more in other areas, more so they want just as many people travelling through main street but then also for people to have a reason to go into other not so popular areas of the park.
  17. Why would they want to reduce the strain on mainstreet? That's where most of the shops in the park are... The more visitors through there the better
  18. It's a common misconception that the reason why Vekomas have so much rattling is because of the space between the upstop wheel and the normal wheel, when that actually doesn't affect it. It is the transitions between elements on the ride and the design of the actual train itself, it has nothing to do with the wheels. So no matter what train you put on to the Vekoma, there will always be "head banging" (because of the horrible transitions) although some rattling can be reduced via a new train design (Kumbak). The one thing a train won't change is the horrible transitions from element to element. Anyway, the new trains don't so much stop the train from rattling (I just said why this isn't really possible) but more so they eliminate anything for your head to "bang" on to. It is a much more comfortable seat without two big foam things next to your head, so more freedom for your head to rattle from side to side without hitting anything but the wind around you. Hope that clears some stuff up about the new trains.
  19. I think that's because in comparison to most of the rides we have, Lethal Weapon is one of the better ones. Of course everyone has their personal preference, I think out of the enthusiasts here we generally just accept LW's head banging. Let's just remember that in America it is the ENTHUSIASTS that absolutely hate SLC's, for all I know the GP must like it, otherwise they wouldn't have been so successful...
  20. Not sure for the best maybe Indiana Jones (or) Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (or) Space Mountain. Jacko please learn how to: - Speak English at a level where one doesn't need to reread your post a few times until it makes sense Also I'm curious how did BTMR hurt your back?
  21. Couldn't have put it better myself. Although the thing is I didn't realise we overshot the station until we were fully slowed down.
  22. Same thing happened to me on the TOT in about 2006-2007 cannot remember which year it was. It overshot the station and we just had to get out at the back, at the time I don't think I really realised what had happened but now I obviously know what it was. Scary stuff but I know it is completely safe for that to happen.
  23. There is no reason whatsoever for Lethal Weapon to be replaced... With the new trains and new theme (hopefully) coming soon, it will be seen as a whole new experience to the GP. While we know it is simply new trains and some paint jobs, it will work wonders for MW (as proven by TOT2). Personally I enjoy LW, yeah the head banging sucks but I get used to it, I just enjoy the ride for what it is, and that for me is a cool invert. Bearing in mind I have never been on a B&M invert, and that opinion could change when I do ride one.
  24. Could not have put it better myself^ I never thought I'd say this, but if this is ALL the theming, the two things I can think of: 1. That looks just too much like Six Flags style theming (i.e none) 2. Dreamworld and MW with new coasters but DW's has more theming?? o.O
