  1. Back on topic quickly im going to take some photo's of the roof and the changes that have been made to mainstreet in the morning. So anyone that is interested in seeing them ill put them on tommorrow night. Im also goint to check up on the Stunt show progress.
  2. Is there ever going to be a point were i dont get my head bitten of for something i say. And Nev there really is no need to be so rude about my post's if you have a issue with them send me PM instead of over and over again making a complete D@#k of me. If you dont want to hear what i have to say dont read my post's. To Clear things up thousands of patterns was a over exageration if you didnt get im shore someone with half a brain could realise that at this present time its a bit un-ethical dont you think. Nemo pod is a moving head system light. It is pretty much like a martianMAC550. If you know what they are there is a whole series of them with different models each model obviously is slightly better.
  3. Well they have done up a concept design for the night which has the roof displayed in it. Very much like the one they did up for the roof when the idea came into play. Used the last two years down main street sitting out side some of the windows they use what is called a nemo pod light which projected the ghost patterns on the ground. This lights have over 32 different colours, thousands of patterns and design's and cando different effects like strobe and other stuff. They can roll 180 degrees back and fourth and turn 360 degrees. These lights you would have seen before on shows like Australian Idol, Big Brother, So you think you can dance and they are used in stage shows and that. From what iv been told these lights will project amazing arayes of colour and patterns on the roof creating a truly spectacular night scape. My thought's on the matter will be that it will look very much like the large LED roof in Las Vegas. And next year there is to be a new maze. It is going to be located were the old Blazing Saddlers area was. It will start near boot hill and the scooby exit. Then head down towards the entrance to the stage show arena, were Shrek, Looney tunes and the Mavrick show have been in previous years then turn left towards the Wild West toilets on the other side of Boot Hill. Below is a picture of the area its not very good i cropped it from a park map i found on the net. The new maze was planned fo 2008 but after a lack of time and planning it hasnt gonna ahead but im shore will be a big public pleaser next year.
  4. Cadboy is right. Wild West Falls will be open this year along with all other major attractions, they made the fatal mistake last year of not opening it which lead to longer ques at other rides and one less attraction which a lot of halloweener's realised and weren't to happy about. Maintenance was originally scheduled over the event but later changed at one of the recent halloween event meeting's. What iv been told this year is going to be a doozy and the roof will look very good with the plan's so far discussed. Oh and so far the event will be held over 3 nights like last year.
  5. Word on the Stunt show. They are currently behind schedual with construction by 2 weeks due to a problem on site. As probably seen by some guest and cast members at MW 2 weeks ago things on site were fairly quite. Some footers have been positioned. And im not shore if many people know but the seating the major stand which is directly behind mainstreet still exists but the over flow grand stand that faced looneytunes village has been removed as far as i know. To allow more room for a larger arena.
  6. Seeing i have open my big mouth already and as suggested a new thread well here we go. In the monthly meetings at movieworld the 2009 attraction has been the hot topic and things are suppose to be kept under raps so i havn't been told any of the major details yet but will soon. Interactive park map is one of the major things being spoken about as part of the parks refurbishment along with mainstreet. The park map will be very similiar to what is at both disney and universal. It allows guest regualar updates on major rides and attraction que times. And yes from what has been spoken about also a brand new attraction for summer 2009. Its has not yet been decided weather its major??? what type of ride??? or what company???? But it looks to be a new addition to the wild west area located at the back of the park this will then add more to the area than the WWF. Does anyone else have anyhting to add to this or is anyone part of the meeting crew that can give us more info on this.
  7. As i said as the first thing in my post, "Im not saying that is the reason why the effects aren't on sometimes " It was just my ussumption or guess seeing i cant seem to think really of any other reason. Except for lasyness. The Interactive Park map is positioned in Two key locations at the fountion as you enter which is a key area with both Batman rides and Superman and will also as you said be at the T junction. The maps system updates its self every 5 mins allowing a reasonable time bracket for when people see a short que everyone will go there so with in 5 mins the que will then be larger and will then update showing guest's its probably not a wise move going to that ride at the moment. It also gives out tips for during your day and any live info like ride closures that may happen during the day. Both Universal and Englands Alton Towers already have the system. The system is hoping to be installed by christmas next year if it is a go ahead. So it will be a good added feature along with next years major new attraction?????
  8. Im not saying that is the reason why the effects aren't on sometimes but after everything that has been said about the issue this would be the most logic reason as to why. It's not hard to turn them all on in the morning shorly. But they wouldnt be doing this if it wasn't a substantal amount of money the are saving think about how often lights turn off and on in this attraction the power bill just for effects alone would be huge. It's cheaper to keep a light on all day than turn it on and off all the time. You dont often get many types of rides like scooby doo in Australia for the pure fact of the operating cost's. This is a stupid comparision but Disney for example. 90% of there attractions are like scooby doo in the fact they are inside mainly and have different sound and lighting effects. I Watched a thing about this on the history channel i cant remeber how much but they said how much each year disney's rides and attractions operating cost are each year. It was huge compaired to a standard theme park. Disney sets the standard for the best parks in the world and by far im shore any company could come close if they put in the attention to detail that Disney does. In the end it all comes down to saving money because every cent counts. Iv seen cash flow statement's from both Seaworld and Movieworld they dont make as much profit as most people think. 40% of profits straight away goes to the government in tax. You then have labour. Power, Water, Sewerage, Rubbish dispposale. There are so many cost's involved. This sounds a bit stupid but when we do get our Disney it will open up a all new ball game. Our parks will have to keep up with the Disney demand which will make them better and better than they are now. Movieworld is already planning for this. They are hoping to have a interactive park map when you first enter by the end of next year, Which will feature live que times for all major rides. This is why they having been doing all the line que times trial. Which from my understanding they are still doing at the moment. I recon we will be seeing lots of changes over the next 24 months.
  9. Thanks for the complement. Im trying my best. Well when i go into office ill have look if they are still there they were in the foyer cause i walked past it a few times back a while ago but i think they have been taken down because when i was there a week ago i went into office but i didnt take much notice but i think they have been taken down. Because it is close to completion. But ill check it out for you. From what i heard they were also on the Gold Coast city council site so im not shore if they are there still or not. If anyone could fill us in on that and if so with a link that would be great cause i wouldn't mind a copy myself now you mentioned it.
  10. That is true Gazza. It puzzles me to the fact that it is a on and off thing all the effects on the coaster are either half on or most not on, or the odd occasion they are all on. It really shouldnt be to hard to turn all the effects on each morning seeing they are all on the same switch board panel in the main control room near the loading station (The little room to your left when you go through the first doors on the coaster, you all know were im talking bout.) Not to mention the fact the effects switch board panel is right next to the operation controls to turn the ride on and off. It's only a flick of a switch!!!! But you know in peak times like Christmas and the holidays you find all the effects are up and running well and good. But at the moment it's not peak time so they might be cutting down on operational cost's. They have done it before, it wouldnt suprise me if they are doing it again. Gazza were there any lights on the scooby and the big teki head at the end where the red laser is, when you were there yesterday???? Ill check it out on sunday after i go to office.
  11. I agree with Alex he has a point to prove there. If you find me asking once if my post are better than you must get annoyed about things easy. One thing that annoy's me is what Cadboy just did bout the capital I, if your gonna now pick every little icky detail thats gonna pi#$ people off npt to mention if you make a mistake in a post were your trying to tell some else they made a mistake. You missed the E in sure. "Oh and klassen make sur you capitilize 'i' in future to (I) Cheers, "
  12. Yeah see i didn't like it either i didn't like the idea to begin with untill i went and checked it out and saw the design's they have done up which are in the movieworld main office they look really good, the final product look's really good and from the look of them it will make mainstreet more movie orientated.
  13. I would have to agree with Matt i recon the roof will be really good when it is complete. Just to fill you in Cadboy i spoke to a friend of myn in entertainment this morning he is pretty high up in that department and he said that the tree's will be going back in on both sides of the plaza and from what you can see from the new photo's that have been uploaded on the street they have re-done the large brick pots on the left hand side of the street but they are slightly smaller than the old ones and the fountain still remains. I think the roof and when the trees are put in it will make main street more movie like. Also i was wondering if my post's have improved at all.
  14. Just to quote what you said Gazza "So that info in the pdf is actually false because there are a few SLCs with a horizontal loop/bayen curve/bonus helix or whatever you want to call it....LW is not the only one." It's not acctually false if you read it properlly it say's that leathal weapon is the only suspended looping coaster in australia. It doesn't say its the only SLC with a horizontal loop/bayen curve/bonus helix.
  15. thanks for that gazza muchly apprieciated. and from what you said in your last reply "even if it did have problems in 1997 moving trains (did it really?)," it is correct i can ashore you i read about it on a site that used to be running but im not completely shore what the name of the site is but it is still running but its like a ghost town now kinda like roller-coaster.com.au but ill find out what it was cause i was going to add the link before to back up what i had said but i couldnt find it but im still looking. The ride did infact have issues with the friction wheels on the maintaince bay and from what i read on the artical there were motors attached to both trains not huge motors they were designed to give the trains more oomf when going into the maintaince bay. also just to back my self up on the whole custom built for movieworld thing hear is a copy of a attraction Info sheet that movieworld has on all major rides for school groups or anyone in genral who wants to know more about certain attractions they will give you a copy if the reason of course is reasnable. Opened: 1995 Cost: $13 million Capacity: 1,000 passengers an hour in two 20-seater trains Manufactured: Vekoma, The Netherlands Ride Cycle: 2 minutes, 55 seconds Inversions: 5 (Sea Serpent, Sidewinder, 2x Barrel Roll) This coaster features an end Helix something that is currently only found on two other suspended loop coaster’s Max. Height: 105 feet Drop: 90 feet Lethal Weapon is Australia’s first and only suspended looping coaster. There are 765 metres of non-stop drops, dives, bends, roll-overs (corkscrew combined with looping), sidewinders (vertical loops), double spins, Bayern Curves (horizontal curves), loops and plunges with riders suspended in absolute nothingness and encountering five complete upsidedown sensations at 80 kph. Lethal Weapon is completely feet-free. Riders sit in suspended seats which travel on the ‘outside’ of the track. In the looping sequence riders can see their feet against the sky and will experience up to 4 G Forces. Custom-made by Vekoma International BV, Netherlands, for Warner Bros. Movie World, Lethal Weapon is designed to be the smoothest and quietest coaster in the world, testament to quality manufacturing and operation. Lethal Weapon is the only ride of its type with the Bayern Curve – a horizontal loop – dubbed the “Aussie Curve” by the manufacturer because the park is the first to incorporate it in a sensational new coaster experience. More than 600 tonnes of steel and technology from around the world was assembled to construct the coaster. one last thing i wasnt specifaclly having a go at you gazza, but here's a prime example of what im talking bout which is what alex just said to cadboy, its unrelated alex if you have a issue with the way cadboy is or talks or respondes to things send him a PM instead of humilating him in front of everyone not everyone needs to be as tough and rude as you are and iv read numours times were you pick on people because of what they say or how they talk on here. ITS THERE PERSONALITY, IF YOU DONT LIKE IT IM SHORE THERE NOT JUST GONNA CHANGE FOR ONE PERSON. I dont like it how your so rude to people on here but thats your personality and i can ashore you you wont change for me and im shore you dont like things about me but im not gonna change for you. LEAVE CADBOY ALONE NO ONE ELSE HAS A ISSUE WITH HIM.
  16. ok yeah i get what you mean. thanks for that.
  17. ha ha ha ha yeah it has caused a lot of contraversy and a lot of attention to both myn and tommo22's account but speak for all those who havent been given a chance on some of the forums and have had there heads bitten off because of things they have said or heard and have been told there wrong straight off and havnt been given a chance, some of you need to lighten up a bit and take on bored what others say before you go and tell the world that you are the only person with the right answer.
  18. thank you very much mickey_079 for the advice. i just wanna add i havnt made false comments all the time my understanding was there is motors that were installed on the zero car thats what i had read and thats y to begin with i said wat i said then my head was bitten off by those who think they know everything and couldnt give others ago or even consider what they say because they are purely right ALL THE TIME and they know everything.
  19. there is many a reasons as to y i did it for one im new to this type of thing and haveing seen the site numours times and look at the forums i thought i would join so i could put my 2 cents worth in on topics if i knew stuff. obviously in this case no one is going to listen to me so i may as well just give up. iv seen in so many of these forums some of you people on here over rule and attack at other people without giving them a chance and you think your king sh#$ and know all. may be you should settle down and take on board what is said before jumping to conclusions on stuff youhave read or heard before cause it doesnt mean its right in all surcomstances. i appologize for this as it is partly my fault but it wouldnt have happen if you take on board wat others say instead of thinging you are the one with the only answer. lets get over it.
  20. i would just like to add the fact that as gazza asked So, is this from a direct observation of the ride, or actually seeing motors in there (Eg if the cover was off), or from the mouth of someone in maintenance etc? iv seen it with the covers off iv been about 30centrmetres away from them i can assure you there are motors in there. i have seen them numourous amounts of times. gazza is right in the sence that it is also a zero car all train coasters have them and he explained the reason for it in which he is dead set correct. but leathal weapon does have motors in the zero car they were installed about 2 years after the opening because the method in which was being used originaly to get the train into the maintainance station wasnt efficeint and the train need more oomf. you will be suprised as to how much stuff gets added to attractions after opening when they uses these methods over and over again that something needs help. there is so much technology and equipment that has been added to superman that no one here will ever realise unless you have some sort of access to this field of work or have a job that is relavant to this field of work. rides get modifacations all the time there not always the same as what you read about over the net or were ever you get you info from. im not going to argue about this forever but iv seen them on a day to day basis trust me there are motors attached to the zero car.
  21. gee's no need to be rude about it but from my understanding of leathal weapon that my statement is true it doesnt nessasarly need to be the same as the one diagramed there are a lot of things rides have changed to suit both the park and the area and attraction. you are right in one sence by wat you said but i can ashore you that the leathal weapon both red and blue train the end peice is used for the purpose i spoke about. i can a shore you i spend more time that most people on this forum behind the scenes of most of MW attractions.
  22. regarding ya post. the extra section on coaster train is a motorised part so that it can run both into and out of the maintainance section which you can see from the line up que as there is no rollers on the peice of track that goes into that area because the track both moves and the coaster goes backwards out of the loading and unloading station to the maintainance station. and with your second question all coaster rides have a surface perimetre around the train and in the surface perimetre there is to be no scenery other track or supports. when a ride is put into a planing process the rides diagnostic is done and this is one of the key aspecs along with many other things. they must make shore nothing is in that surface perimetre. with superman for instance you can see the surface perimetre cutout in the side of the studio which you go through and the steam sprays. attched is a picture of a surface perimetre digram i just wanted to add last week on wed i rode leathal weapon at 10am just after a maintance person did and he sat in the front seat on the left hand side in the red train. so i decided i would also whn he got off to see if i could pick out wat he was checking out and well i did i had the whole coaster to my self it was bloody awsome but the problem is the plastic gaurd above the seat the hides the wheels well in some parts of the ride it makes a scraping noise very loud nosie obviosly not bad enough to close the ride but very freaky noise lol.
  23. well im not 100% shore then. but i went twice 5 days apart and i really had no poblems with the ride except breaking down just before ya go back ward at about 4:45 and i was still on the ride at 5:15 but t was good to see it all with the lights on and i could clearly see the fog pipes pumping at there best and it was a lot the room was really hazey. and when the ride was back up and running we got to ride it to the end with the lights on which was awsome to see it all. not that i havnt seen it many other times with the lights on but not on the ride. but ill see wats going on maintainance should be happening soon so most problems will be fixed ill find out when the maintainance is schedueled.
  24. i went to Movie World recently and saw the star parade both times i went there and the show has changed slightly since i went there last they used to have a chic on a bike thing hosting the show but now they have a voice over telling history bout each character i have a copy of the script i created my self but i was wondering if anyone knows what the songs are that are played in the show and if any one has a copy would they be able to email it to me please
