  1. Hear hear. Again... This is the comments of the guests not mine. Some I agree with, some I don't. I am simply presenting the facts as they have been told to me.
  2. Just found the countdown page. http://myfun.com.au/big3/?WT.mc_id=MFHomepage;Carousel;VIPPass2011-2012;Pos2;30082011 Looks like they wont be selling them. Hopefully this is the death of these passes. The quick revenue raiser seems to be coming to an end!!!
  3. Just saw the ad on tv advertising the VIP pass for $109.99 stating sales finish October 31. Does this mean it will go up after this time? Or that they will not be selling the passes after this time? Very confusing.
  4. Lovely to see the forums filling with people who cannot understand that the general public, not just us theme park regulars have an opinion which presents valid points. The park used to be one of the most family friendly parks where the whole family could do multiple rides and experiences together and they were aimed at the larger audience (Looney Tunes, Gremlins, Maverick, PASS to name a few). Now it is either large thrill rides for the older group or WB Kids Zone for the younger kids. I also just had a VIP Pass holder comment to me she is no longer going to the park as it has declined dramatically in the last few months. Again, their comments not mine.
  5. Feedback yes.. positive hardly... They complaining there is nothing they can do with their children there and that it is no longer what they would label a "family orientated" park. Again this is their comments not mine.
  6. You have to remember though that a lot of people probably haven't gone to overseas parks. Looking at the myfun website and seeing that of the 8 currently listed rides under their rides page (including BATR2 and GL), 5 of them are coasters. I would say that "Rollercoaster World" is a fair comment.
  7. Something I have found interesting over the last couple of weeks is the number of guests at the hotel referring to "Rollercoaster World." When I give them a puzzled look they say they believe MW should be changing its name due to the fact is is overun with coasters now and there is nothing for the family to do as a whole and very little for the non thrill seekers.
  8. I would love to think so but as mentioned on their website by someone else... Wouldn't this be a selling point and so be advertised as well?
  9. I'm going with my idea and calling this an overhang. Still not an inversion... Possibly painful, but not an inversion.
  10. To be honest, not really a wizz with the manufacturers of rides. If it looks good and runs well I'm happy. To me a coaster is a coaster and a flat ride is a flat ride. That is about as far as I go.
  11. [*] "Overhang - Anything steeper than vertical (though usually used in the same manner as 'roof')." http://www.thetowerclimbingcentre.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=60&catid=25:the-project&Itemid=19 Despite being a rock climbing term would this not be a more realistic term for the first drop?
  12. Just using it as an example as the cobra roll had been mentioned previously.
  13. Or 2... It all comes down to the individual interpretation. I would say the layout of Demon had 3 but the cycle had 6.
  14. Have been looking, but really wanting to see the final theming more than the layout. Guess we just have to wait.
  15. Had been looking at the Pirates Revenge for the last couple of years at the Ekka and finally got around to going on it this year. Was a good basic flume and would love to see AW do a little something extra to it.
  16. With all this chat about AW I think it is time I paid it a visit... You have peaked my interests.
  17. Again, I agree with Gazza in the fact that if the "inversion" is there to simply lessen the G-Force such as overbanks then no it is not an inversion. If it is there to put people upside down, such as a cobra roll, loop, barrel roll, etc then yes it is an inversion. We could argue forever that anything greater than 90 degrees is an inversion, which is technically correct, or that unless it is 180 degrees at one point then it isn't an complete inversion, which is also correct. Each person has their own idea on what an inversion is. I also agree with Luke... ... but in saying that, I would say that the Demon coaster that was at Australia's Wonderland had 3 inversions while by agreeing with Luke's comment it would only have had 1.
  18. My thoughts exactly. I thought this was called a steeper than vertical drop anyway... "New for 2008 at Hersheypark was the Fahrenheit roller coaster. Featuring a 121 foot tall vertical lift hill and a steeper-than-vertical first drop at 97 degrees, it’s a ride that caught the attention of coaster fans everywhere." http://www.coasterimage.com/fahrenheit-video/ Just one of the few places I have seen it referred to as such.
  19. Movieworld. Was only there for about 2 hours as had done Superman, Scooby Doo and WWF. Wasn't interested in seeing HWSD or going on Leathal Weapon for the usual reasons. LTRR was closed, Batman the Ride was closed during the time of day we were there, shops hadn't opened yet so decided to go home. This was the last day we were able to go as working through until VIP passes expired. This experience has meant we had no interest in renewing the passes this year.
  20. Or you could just do what we do and hire all day lockers for $8 it was last we were there... That fixes all issues or gear when going to rides and free or not at each ride.
  21. Thought the passes only ran until June 30, 2012 so if you bought one today you don't get a full 12 months anyway?
  22. I think that the current VIP pass offer will no longer be valid for purchase after to October 31st. With the wife and I the only 2 who would a VIP pass, this offer did nothing for us as would be the case with anyone not in a family situation. I say they will scrap it and do nothing until the christmas period where they will once again lower to $69.95.
  23. "At Monterey Bay Aquarium, a great white was held in captivity for just under 200 days. This is the longest a great white shark has been kept in captivity." http://natgeotv.com/uk/the-whale-that-ate-jaws/facts This may create some issues with the idea of keeping a great white in captivity. Of course you could release one and put another in captivity, but I'm sure Louisiana SPCA will have something to say for the welfare of the animals if this was to occur.
  24. I have never been to any overseas parks and for someone like me, the brand means little so long as it is enjoyable. This coaster will have me coming back as much as Scooby and Superman have as long as the overall experience from theming to ride is a positive one.
  25. Nothing we didn't already know but... Had a DW rep come to the hotel today and drop off their new brochures for our Concierge area along with the message that we were "no longer allowed to hand out the older ones". Opened a new brochure and old one to confirm my suspicions that it was due to the removal of Nick. Surely enough every image of the Nick area had been replaced with more generic images from the park. The one thing that shocked me though was the absence of any Buzzsaw or Shockwave images or information. I think DW needs to speak to their printer to speed up the process as I am sure they would not have left these out had the brochures only been sent to printing a month ago.
