  1. Yep, the shack with the "Zombieland" sign on the roof just to the left of SE entry on the grass.
  2. I also noticed too that the weight lifter guy had some facepaint on tonight. Spent most of the night taking photos rather than doing anything. Did get on scooby once and WC & EW mazes though. Queue for scooby was 50mins. Got some good shots of the fire dancers which I'll post soon. Had a quick chat with one of them as she recognised us from last week. Got the UTT next week so I'm really looking forward to that now.
  3. Quite possibly just inspections on different areas of the track, or maybe fixing areas they previously identified as needing work. Or maybe they just wanted to get their own rumours so we stopped talking about Eureka
  4. It gets busier, more refined and closer to the actual Halloween date
  5. I wouldn't expect too much to 'change' as such, but be more refined and well prepared if anything.
  6. Where's push when you need him? Anyway, back on topic - I haven't been to DW in ages, but obviously they're working on Cyclone and the Supercars area, but what about the rest of the park? Has there been much more of a tidy up or anything? Las time I went, the area under shockwave was a dumpster. Has there been anything happen over the other side of the park? Around the animals/vintage cars area?
  7. I screwed this one up a bit, but I'll go back and get better shots anyway
  8. Oh yeah, Don't bother with the 4D movie. What a load of crap. It's just snippets of the kill scenes from the movie, but they happen so fast you can barely keep up. The 3D was also barely noticeable. 1/10 for that.
  9. Alrighty, FN review - Arrived around 1715, walked straight in and even after standing around for 15mins was able to walk straight up to outside the Roxy without any issues. There seemed to be less people than previous years, or maybe everyone just showed up later than they used to. Didn't see much of the opening act, but that's going to wait til UTT when I'll be at the front. Got stuff into a locker then headed over to Wyrmwood. That was a good and bad maze. Good for the fact it was new and different, bad because thanks to strobes and smoke, in a few parts, you could not see anything in front of you to try to find your way through. Both this maze and Friday later, the group got stuck and the actors had to point which way to go. I'd give it 8/10 Friday - didn't think there was going to be any Jason in the maze for a while. The first sign we saw was a photo on the wall. Began to think they'd really cheaped out on this maze until he appeared at the end. 7/10 Evil Within - I'm quite shocked they managed to fit everything into the smaller space, but they did well. In saying that, it was a recycled maze so it was kind of 'meh' if you've done it last year. They really ruined the lighting on the 4 armed chick - with the strobe positioned the way it was, you really couldn't see anything except the white light. Given the lighting issue, and the recycled, slightly smaller maze, this time it only gets a 6/10 Didn't do WC2 last night, was busy taking (and mostly failing at taking) photos. Said photos will be posted here, and also on my page and instagram if you want to see higher res versions of the same shots. A bit annoyed they closed the rides/mazes early but I can understand why. Finale was decent enough. The 'precincts' were.... odd. Didn't see many if any actors wandering around the fountain, but maybe I was just there at the wrong time. Most actors were stationed between the Roxy and the panic rooms with a mix of clowns, scantily clad women, uncle sam for whatever reason, and some old guy pretending to lift heavy weights while not at all being themed to fright night. Sure it fits the carnival/circus area, but they should just throw a bit of make up on him to fit the theme. Fire dancers were good, same ladies and gents as last year. The 'gothic lair' (read: band stage) was ok, but could have been better with a few more actors hanging around.
  10. Having only been one night, I can't confirm yet, but I'd assume it will be their park clearing technique each night. I'll let you know next weekend though.
  11. Showstage maze queues were also closed around 10. The finale is It's a very effective way of clearing the park. I think they got sick of people slowly filtering out and having to keep staff on til 11/11:30. With most people watching the finale, they usually leave straight after then there's just the last few from mazes and rides.
  12. Rides closed early because of the finale at 10:15. SE closed 8:30/9 like normal and SDSC closed the queue around 9:30.
  13. I'll put up some of my thoughts a bit later/tomorrow, but it felt a lot quieter than previous years. Got a maze done and a ride on SE within the first hour.
  14. There usually isn't many actors left in the mazes at that point though. They seem to thin out around 10. What dates are people doing the UTT?
  15. I *think* I remember them moving at last year's FN. I also think the water was working then as well. But maybe that's just remembering it how I want to rather than how it was.
  16. What are the sounds/audio in the section from station to launch?
  17. I have the UTT booked and a season pass, given the price of the panic rooms, I'll probably give them a miss. The ones at West End for example are only $50pp and they'll most likely be bigger and better since they are a fixed attraction rather than a temp one at a theme park.
